A bagel with cream cheese. Here I am thinking, wow - they must really be putting love into this bagel for it to take so long. Wrong. It was a soggy cold bagel with a packet of cheap cream cheese that I was supposed to put on it myself. I hate to sound ungrateful, but come on... if I wanted to pay for a cold bagel and cream cheese, I could have gone to the grocery store and received 5x as much food for the same price. Anyway. After waiting 20 minutes, I see them bag the bagel... not to give it to me, but to let it cool down while they eventually start making the smoothie I ordered. The smoothies are advertised as being "real fruit," but are definitely just syrup and ice. I try not to waste food but it was unpalatable. I intend on properly heating up the bagel for breakfast tomorrow. Like I said, the service was polite, and I wish the owners all the best. Maybe their other options are great. I will not be coming back.

It was uncomfortable, disrespectful, and honestly disgusting. I've been to countless coffee shops over the years, and I've never experienced anything like this. Whether it was intentional or not, the treatment made me feel singled out and unwelcome. I left feeling humiliated instead of appreciated as a customer. I visited and this is what I found. Very impressed at their product. Dont buy $40/lb coffee that was roasted moths ago and sits on the shelf at these other places. I order coffee every couple months from these guys and they roast it the next day and ship it ASAP. Ever since I stopped adding cream and sweetener to my coffee, and only drink it black. I have become a coffee taste snob. Full bodied, non-acidic, smooth. Solid 5 stars.

I was finally able to combine this with some other errands yesterday. It's a small storefront with a few shelves and a big counter area. Not a coffee shop to sip a mug--a place to buy beans. There's a big sign on the wall explaining the exact roast level for each bag of beans they offer. You can order online and pick up, or you can walk in to buy. They have a bunch of blends that do really well. I avoid blends; I want the different flavors of single-origin stuff. I'm thinking now I should have realized that the rave reviews I see for this place are for the blends. I tried the Kenya, which the owner was proud to explain is their highest-rated offering. It's a good coffee, but not single-origin in the sense that they note how it was processed and where it was grown. They just give you the country. That's still an enormous step up from where coffee was when I was a kid, and it's an impressive effort for coffee that's a mere $11/lb. The big sign on the wall said this was a medium roast, and what's in the mug is very smoky and dark. Too much for my tastes, but I'm glad to have finally tried this place. I'm looking forward to trying the other beans and finishing all this up.

I was able to read off the ingredients over the phone and they mixed up a blend that was available the same day. They provided a receipt with the quantities of the order included which I can use to get more made if necessary. When my parents went to pick up the tea they noticed how nice and clean the shop was and said the staff was incredibly helpful. Not only has the tea been helping but it was a significantly better price than the pre-made blend I had ordered. I would 100% recommend Chai Cupboard.

They don't have outlets on the floor at the benches in the center, but there are a few outlets on the walls, so if you need to charge your devices I recommend sitting at the chairs next to the treasure chest (where I'm writing this review lol). Space seems very dog friendly, and there are 2 tables outside where the fur baby pawrents would typically sit with their fur babies. I also saw dog treats at the cashier that dog owners are free to take. I guess if you wanted to eat them you could, but I would judge you. For my drink, I got the Woodsman - opted for iced, large size, and whole milk. The drink was very chai spice-forward, which I loved. The staff member who took my order asked for my name, and later on when I went up to inquire the WiFi password, he addressed me by name - impressive. The owner (?), Heather, also thanked me for coming here after I picked up my drink. Needless to say, super friendly people. I didn't get a pastry or sandwich, but that's the goal for my next visit!

Supporting an ethical company, especially when it comes to coffee, is important to me and Jocelyn's dedication to her producers and customers is evident. She hits the mark on sustainability, quality, flavor, respect and social justice. It's companies like these that we need more of. I came Thursday morning, April 1st at 6:30 AM--first time here. This was a larger built woman…read more I asked for a medium white mocha, decaf. She goes "what size?". I'm like--"medium"... she goes "there are five sizes". I am like--"whichever size is medium". My goodness, things can never be simple but instead of just picking whatever size is closest to medium she kept asking what size. I think 16 oz is in fact a standard medium. Five sizes is insane. I go to pay--she just points to the sign, apparently they do not take electronic payment--card or cash. So I dig out my card. When she comes back, my card is attached to a clipboard with the receipt and a pen. Germ city, so I grab my card but do not touch the pen or clipboard. She asks if I can sign the receipt and I go "no thank you". I do not want to touch the pen and clipboard because gross, I am sure it is covered in germs and I do not like touching things that I speculate are high touch surfaces and not clean. She goes "F--CK OFF". And I drive away. In my head I go "huh?". Because how was it warranted for her to tell me to fuck off??? If any of my staff told a customer to "F--CK off", they would be fired immediately. I was in no way hostile or rude--it was my first time visiting. I didn't know they had five sizes, I am not touching that shared pen and clipboard. Emotionally immature. I get told to f--ck off and that isn't the energy I was giving her AT ALL. If I happen to be that way again, I will stop by and grab a photo of her and share it here because there is no way.
