We visited specifically to order a sweet corn latte, a drink which we've never had before and were interested in trying. Sweet Corn Latte, Iced 20oz ($7) - Surprisingly sweetness adjustments are allowed on this drink. The drink itself has a nice mellow corn aroma and a balanced milky flavor. It isn't too sweet. There's some fresh corn mixed in that's not that sweet compared to most canned sweet corn. There's stabilized whipped cream sweet on top studded with corn and then sprinkled with cocoa powder for some color. We asked to upgrade to 20oz but didn't get charged any more. Not sure how that works! (4/5) The drink probably has better presentation if ordered for dine-in rather than to-go given that the cap they give crushes the whipped cream. Photos from other Yelpers indicate that they have domed lids but for some reason they gave us a flat lid. K Cafe Dabang serves some pretty tasty drinks. Fatbee uses condensed/evaporated milk in their milk teas, so it gives a really thick, luxurious mouthfeel when you drink it. The experience for am coffee you expect to be greeted and with somewhat of a pleasant demeanor or at least you hope to start your day nicely after all that's why we pick the coffee places we go to so as to start out our days pleasantly. I understand that 5:30 am is early but a hello or may I help you or what can I get you today would've been nice, but she didn't greet me at all and when I did order she liked rolled her eyes at me and looked so very put out it was a major effort for her. When I paid for my order she asked if I wanted my change back well I said you betcha! Whats funny is that it was over 2.00 of change back lol. And why would an employee expect a tip after being treated so rudely and unprofessionally (Entitlement) The coffee is usually pretty good but because of the snooty girls and bad service that I received and the mood it set for my day I won't be going back or recommend this booth. Its always been iffy but they need to start showing some appreciation and care for their customers and learn or be taught how to treat their customers. Girls we are not there for you, you are there for us! Without us there is no you and there are plenty of friendly espresso booths out there. Please note that even starbucks offers incentives, you dont even give out stamp cards. read more

I used to would have given this stand a 4 or 5 star review but the staff has completely changed. They are not as friendly, period. There is one girl in particular that is flat out rude every time I've seen her and clearly doesn't want to be there. I wish I knew her name but I don't. She was there Friday, September 10th at 2:00 pm to narrow it down. Also, why is nobody ever wearing a mask? They are serving food and drinks. And handling money and cards. No hand washing in between. In long This is part of my new regular tour of Edmonds coffee spots since I'm down here a time or two a week these days. Ladro has lots of fans and it's easy to see why, even if the smaller mom-and-pop places get higher rates around here. Ladro deserves credit for doing everything right. This is an older strip mall, probably built around the time that phrase was coined. Wide variety of businesses, wonky shapes and angles in the parking lot. Inside, there's the big coffee bar on one side, and tables and chairs over there. They have some merch for sale, including plenty of choices among their own house-roasted beans. Lots of blends, and even a few interesting-looking single-origin bags, too. Not any cheaper than the big premium roasters charge. I'd have to try some of the beans before I could say if that seems justified, but I bet it might be. You can order ahead, but not only did I choose to order manually, I went inside and looked the poor kids in the eye. They all seemed to enjoy each others' company, and their nice work environment translates into a nice ambiance for relaxing with a cup. I ordered chai lattes to go, and they were boiling hot and tasted like they were from a tea bag (not the sugar-bomb concentrate that some places use). I also had a brown butter scone that was great even at room temp. They didn't get overly chatty making the drinks, but they were definitely friendly, and everything was ready quickly. Nice kid clocking off for the day even held the door for me as we went out, given that my hands were full. Honestly, if you didn't know this was a chain (albeit a small, local one), you'd think this place existed simply to caffeinate locals in the neighborhood. Everything about it has that nice neighborly, next-door vibe. They don't have anything quirky about them, really, and that huge pastry case is definitely not filled by on-site bakeries at every location. But it all still FEELS like a friendly spot down the street from home. 2 coffees and a scone were about $20 before tip. Could be better, could be worse. I'd definitely come back.
