Certainly WAY overpriced for regular drip coffee. Like, about a dollar more than it should be for each size. I don't mind their prices on mixed drinks because of the ingredients and the employee prep time that goes into it, but I feel a little taken advantaged of when drip coffee is almost $5 with tax. In long This is part of my new regular tour of Edmonds coffee spots since I'm down here a time or two a week these days. Ladro has lots of fans and it's easy to see why, even if the smaller mom-and-pop places get higher rates around here. Ladro deserves credit for doing everything right. This is an older strip mall, probably built around the time that phrase was coined. Wide variety of businesses, wonky shapes and angles in the parking lot. Inside, there's the big coffee bar on one side, and tables and chairs over there. They have some merch for sale, including plenty of choices among their own house-roasted beans. Lots of blends, and even a few interesting-looking single-origin bags, too. Not any cheaper than the big premium roasters charge. I'd have to try some of the beans before I could say if that seems justified, but I bet it might be. You can order ahead, but not only did I choose to order manually, I went inside and looked the poor kids in the eye. They all seemed to enjoy each others' company, and their nice work environment translates into a nice ambiance for relaxing with a cup. I ordered chai lattes to go, and they were boiling hot and tasted like they were from a tea bag (not the sugar-bomb concentrate that some places use). I also had a brown butter scone that was great even at room temp. They didn't get overly chatty making the drinks, but they were definitely friendly, and everything was ready quickly. Nice kid clocking off for the day even held the door for me as we went out, given that my hands were full. Honestly, if you didn't know this was a chain (albeit a small, local one), you'd think this place existed simply to caffeinate locals in the neighborhood. Everything about it has that nice neighborly, next-door vibe. They don't have anything quirky about them, really, and that huge pastry case is definitely not filled by on-site bakeries at every location. But it all still FEELS like a friendly spot down the street from home. 2 coffees and a scone were about $20 before tip. Could be better, could be worse. I'd definitely come back. read more

This is my 'go to' coffee shop in Edmonds. Great selection of coffee, other beverages and food. Plenty of free parking. I typically do a mobile order which is always ready by the time I get there, hot and delicious. They know my name and give friendly service. This wasn't always the case so kudos to the current manager. Occasionally I meet a friend there. It can get hard to hear when there are a lot of customers. Every year I come back I love this place. I really enjoy the ham and cheese croissant but lately I've not been able to enjoy the delicious coffee here so I had steamed apple cider with caramel in it. I believe it is called the candy apple and is worth every sip. I'm so glad to come back home every year this is my favorite place to stop . They have a number of other pastries that I can't wait to try and when I can drink coffee again it'll be my first stop. read more

You know that feeling of picking up something heavy (like a gallon of milk) only to find the container is mostly empty, and it almost startles you? After two or three visits to Ladro, this the feeling I get. A 16oz mocha should weigh more than a cup full of foam. I didn't complain, because I didn't want to be that guy, but I'll be skipping this place in the future. It's $8.50 before tip, for mostly foam? And it's not a one-off experience. I see I'm not the only person pointing this out. Also, note for management: When baristas are all wearing headsets and talking to customers in the drive thru, it's hard to know when they are talking to customers who entered the store. Eye contact and a smile add to the overall vibe, and I didn't see any of that, probably because it's hard to do when managing a call at the same time? I've lived in Edmonds my entire life and finally decided to give Cafe Ladro a shot after hearing so many of my friends rave about it. Big mistake. The barista who served me didn't even have a name tag on, probably because he knew how terrible his attitude was and didn't want to be held accountable. I don't care if it was the end of his shift or if he'd had a long day, I used to be a barista too, and even when I was exhausted, overworked, and running on fumes, I still managed to treat every customer with basic decency and respect. That's just part of the job. The way this guy acted was unprofessional, rude, and frankly embarrassing. Cafe Ladro should be ashamed of the way their staff represents them. This place is a disgrace to the beautiful town of Edmonds, and I won't be returning, nor will I be recommending it to anyone. read more

I've been going to Caffe Ladro a few times a month since I pass it on my daily walk (30-35 visits in the past year) but I think today will be the last. With the abundance of great coffee shops in Edmonds, there's no reason for me to support a place that doesn't make you feel welcome or valued. There are so many other options nearby where you won't wait at the counter for 2-3 minutes to order a drink while the guy passes by you several times without acknowledging you. I've actually had this experience several times here in the past couple of months, always with this same guy, but today when it happened again on 9/8 at 10:45am, I walked out. It seems bizarre in today's competitive marketplace to not make an effort to greet a customer or to say "I'll be with you in a minute!" This simple gesture truly goes so far in creating customer satisfaction and loyalty. I'm willing to wait for my coffee, in fact I don't stop here unless I have some time because I know it will usually be a longer wait, but there's no worse feeling as a customer than to be left hanging with no acknowledgement that you exist. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because of how great this one girl always was (I don't know her name but I think she's since left). She was nice and super fast and the whole place seemed to flow so efficiently when she was there. I haven't seen her the past few times I've been in so I assume she's moved on. For my coffee runs, I've been rotating between Waterfront Coffee, Starbucks, Cafe Louvre, and Caffe Ladro, all in Edmonds. I can deal with Ladro being the most expensive of all of them but when combined with the lack of basic customer care I've experienced as of late, there's just no incentive to keep coming back. read more

Came in on a busy Saturday to pick up two 5-gallon containers of coffee for an event that day. Our event started at 10:30. It wasn't very far away from Caffe Ladró so I scheduled pickup for 9:45 to 10. Long story short, I had to leave with only one carafe at 10:20 and come back for the second one because they weren't done on time. In total, there were supposed to be 150 cups of coffee between the two containers. I initially received 25 cups and a 16 ounce cup of creamer per container. Then the (very nice) girl who was helping me brought out additional cups - but only one small cup of coffee stirrers. When you order catering, the web page says that you receive creamer, sugar, stirrers, and cups. Aside from the cups, I had to ask for more creamer and the rest wasn't adequate for the amount of coffee we had. It would have made more sense to give us creamer in closed pints or a half gallon jug than putting it into coffee cups and taping up the lids. I'm giving more stars than I would for this situation because the ladies working here were nice and apologetic. One helped me carry the containers out to my car. And they even let me borrow tongs when we desperately needed a pair. I think they were slammed on this particular day, and were very appreciative that I was "kind" (a.k.a. Didn't go tf off because our order wasn't ready). However, I didn't make my deadline, we didn't have what we needed in time for the event, and the "catering" was ill thought out and inadequate for what we needed. Additional info: there is a drive-through window here, even though it doesn't look like that from the street. It gets VERY busy here on the weekends with various groups and friends meeting for morning coffee. Be forewarned. Pro tip: find a way to confirm your catering order or ask for pick up WELL before your event - which is difficult because the carafes only stay hot for four hours after pickup. read more

The place looked cute and I was looking for a new coffee stop close to my house, so I stopped in for a coffee and to check it out the staff was super friendly and the place looked really cute but my coffee was 9 dollars. They up charge for everything. Originally I saw that a medium latte was 6.5 I asked for a vanilla latte with almond milk both additional charges. I didn't see it on the menu originally because my eyes went straight to lattes not to extras. I've never been charged for syrup or my choice of milk before, I know inflation has gone up at nine dollars for a coffee seems ridiculous. Will not come back. read more

Recently started coming here before work and love it every time. A nice lil spot to read and chill. It's not a huge place but that's what I like about it. Always a chair available (so far). Cafe Ladro is not overwhelming, it's just right! Would definitely recommend the sriracha chorizo burrito ($6) ASK FOR THE SALSA! It's a must with the salsa! My biggest problem with Cafe Ladro in Edmonds is they don't make the hot coffee drinks hot enough. I've ordered a latte here two times and both times it's room temperature. I'm also a bit taken back by the barista not calling out the drinks as they finish them, even when multiple customers are waiting. Overall the customer service seems lacking. You were lost and now you are found! How I had loved you in your original Queen Anne location back in the 90s. Your Medici was and still is a go to treat...made with a fresh orange zest that gives the mocha just a hint of something so special.... Choose your milk ..many options. Recommend Oat milk for its creaminess. Etta (sp?) did a great job making mine complete with a pretty design. The gal ringing me up (sorry I dont remember names but was today 8 Aug around 11:45am) you both were terrific... Safety: I appreciate A. Mask worn properly by staff and all that enter. 2. Hand sanitizer at the credit card machine & clean and used pen cannisters. 3. Good form when handing me the lid on a napkin so avoids her hands on it (unlike what the place across the street does) 4. Lobby closed 5. Great safe under the awning options for outdoor seating and entrusting customers to distance outside. Also safe easy places to sit along water park just a short stroll away. Still my all time goto coffee shop since it's so convenient and my small soy lattes are delicious here. It tastes slightly sweetened without any extra sugar added. The foam is perfect all the time. The staff is very nice and pastries are on point. They have one restroom, one self serve filtered water station and I believe a drive up window, although never used. WiFi is accessible and very cozy seating. Not much else to say when you find good coffee! read more

While exploring options for various coffee places, I chose this one from reviews and curiosity. My first impression was great, then I saw the fly in the pastry/food display. Landed all over the cookies and more. They finally got it out. That is when one of the staff said, not an issue as there are bugs all over the place, including in the flour and more. I winced. Stayed with the place and ordered a savory pastry, my friend ordered the apple coffee cake. We sat down, and...the apple cake was a bit dry but tasty. My pastry was tasty as well. The flies arrived at our table within minutes of our sitting down to enjoy our beverages and food. One kept going for my hot tea, landing in the cup and on the edge. I finally was able to kill that fly on the window sill. Another arrived, killed that one too, and then a third and fourth fly. I got 3 out of the 4. By that time we were done and we left. We will NOT be back. Too many flies, sanitation is a huge issue for this place and the comment from the staff left me considering calling the health department. Good for studying / working. Tables with enough surface area that are placed by outlets. One big table if you're ready to set up camp. Two "comfy" areas: One for chatting and another for a solitary activity like reading. Coffee is good, baristas are nice, wifi is good. Added bonus: good natural lighting around sunset in the winter. So the clientele is a little older and there are regulars. It's cute and makes for hilarious people watching. I don't mean to eavesdrop, really I don't. The espresso is the best in the area. Sure that's not hard around here but I get Ladro coffee downtown too and they maintain standards in all stores. The pastries are OK. Some more delicious than others. This is off the beaten path, but we take time to go to this Cafe Ladro in Edmonds. We enjoy the fresh coffee flavors, the art featured on the walls , the nice people who work here etc. I would rather support this local business... their coffee drinks are all very tasty; they feature freshly baked sweet or savory snacks, too . There are other locations, but we like the small town ambiance of this location. Why drive an extra 20 minutes? They will vary the drinks to your tastebuds... want less sugar? Amazing. I've only been to their Bothell location and the baristas are friendly and professional. There are two tables outside for outdoor seating, a functional drive-thru window, and share a huge parking lot with an adjacent business. My friend and I are both lactose-sensitive. We both ordered drinks with almond milk (mine was an iced almond milk latte while she had a hot almond milk tumeric latte). I've tried a lot of almond milks, there's is full-bodied and holds up well in either the hot or cold preparation. What surprised me most was the tumeric latte, just a bit of spice to push you through. This location also had an assortment of pastries I have yet to see at the Bothell location (maybe the other location just ran out for the day). read more

And that wasn't an anomaly, there's always a very long wait here, only to pull up to the window and see there is only one person trying to manage both the inside customers and the drive thru. The prices were a little higher than I would like it for an okay mocha and the croissant..although simple, I still think it could've been cheaper. I live about a block away, so I go here when I am in a hurry, but I have had terrible service! Recent experience #1: Terrible customer service. I went through the drive through, waited there about 5 minutes with no response. Finally I drove up to the window, and I told the barista that I was waiting to order at the speaker, then she replied with an attitude and said that it must not be working. PUT A SIGN ON THE SPEAKER. GET THE SPEAKER FIXED. Recent experience #2: I go through the drive through to order a 20oz drip coffee with a little bit of cream. I was charged $4.69. I asked the barista if the prices went up because I was there the other day and I ordered the same exact thing for $3.81. The barista relied, we charged you for cream. WHAT?? Who charges for cream??? I was so upset, I called them when I got home, and they corrected themselves by saying that there was a new barista and she rang up my order incorrectly. DO NOT GO TO THIS CAFFE LADRO. Terrible customer service and you will possibly be overcharged. If you are going to go to Caffe Ladro, at least go to the one in Lynnwood. read more

I'm a huge fan of Ladro coffee and have enjoyed living within 1/4 mile of this one for years. That said, I was taken aback when I showed up at 4:58 to find the doors already locked. I noticed that the Covid hours had the store now closing at 5 and completely understand the adjustment. As the young lady working inside was only just starting to lock the drive through window, I knocked lightly on the front window so as to catch her attention without startling her. She rudely pointed at the clock which now ready 5 pm. I told her through the glass that I only wanted prepackaged coffee beans, not a beverage and would be quick since it was within minutes of closing. She seemed to understand but then turned, began cleaning the machines and ignored me, refusing to turn back to acknowledge me. I sympathize with wanting to get home after a day at work but not rudeness and a lack of customer service to someone that clearly walked from the surrounding neighborhood to get Ladro coffee arriving too close to closing (unintentionally). I will continue to enjoy Ladros products but would rather drive to another location. read more

This is a nice place with good food and very friendly staff. It's spacious, clean and comfortable. There are a lot of outlets so you can sit and plug in. This is a great place to get some work done, read a book or visit with some friends. The bakery items are quite unique. I got a potato sage scone. It was interesting. Not the worst scone I've ever had but not the best either. My husband got a breakfast sandwich. Again, not the best, but not bad either. The cappuccino was great. We were surprised after discovering this little cute place. After we walked in, we were greeted by very friendly staff. We were introduced to the menu and given suggestions. This place was not busy at all. There are tables everywhere and you can bring your computer and enjoy your time here. After awhile, we decided to get coffee, cappuccino, potato sage, and treehugger breakfast sandwich. The sandwich has nutmeg spiced egg, arugula, and aged cheddar cheese. It tasted ok, but not the best. The potato sage tasted more like eggs, but it was not bad at all. The coffee and the cappuccino were the best, tasted hot and served in a nice set of cups. Overall, the environment, service, and place would make us come back sometime in the future again. read more
