Let me start off by saying the food was excellent. We had the BBQ shrimp (delicious), cauliflower steak (yum!), fried chicken (so good) and lamb sliders (very tasty). The service was less than desirable: - they squeezed 9 of us into a table for 6 - the waiter was hard to find - the food was slow to come out - appetizer portions were VERY small I felt like we were always looking for our waiter So disappointing as I really enjoyed my meal but I just don't know if I can go back and deal with the flaws in service. read more

The service was great. Our waiter was attentive and kept checking on us. For being in the theme parks, it was very nice and relaxing and I didn't feel like it was super touristy even though it was busy. Food was good. The bread was a little dry but the butter and the peach preserves that came with it was delicious. Lamb shank was good but the carrots were slightly hard. 4/5 read more

Food declined from the last we were there. Service was good. The ambiance was nice.over priced for what you get .

We were headed to the Hard Rock for a comedy show last night and decided to eat dinner at City Walk. We had been to Big Fire a couple of times previously and had a good experience, and given that we had an hour and a half before the show, figured there'd be plenty of time. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Everything from drinks to our appetizer to my side salad took FOREVER. When we finally inquired about the timing, given our show, we were told "the kitchen is delayed", with the only recourse beinng an offer to bring us our check before the food even arrived! Though we did finally get that food (after nearly an hour of waiting), we had to wolf it down to make it to the show on-time. All told, this was a miserable experience, with the only conciliatory effort being a 5% discount to the check. They didn't even bother sending the manager out to apologize, knowing full well how irritated we were. This place has great food when it's firing on all cylinders, but we learned that it's too unpredictable to bother with if we have any other plans. read more

We made reservations an entire month before coming here. It was got 16 people. We dropped 2 so it was only 14 people, obviously less than they told us they could accommodate. We got here 20 minutes before our reservation time, checked in, and was told it would be an hour and a half unless we wanted to split up into 5 separate groups. Obviously not. They were unwilling to do anything. We spoke to the manager in length explaining our situation and he was unwilling to accommodate us. We could have chose any restaurant in city walk but we chose Big Fire. If they had told us they couldn't accommodate us ONE MONTH ago, we would have made reservations anywhere else. We drove 4 hours to be here and now we have nowhere to eat because it's Saturday night and everything has a long wait. We were celebrating 3 birthdays. They were ruined. We are so disappointed. Customer service was absolutely terrible. Host was incompetent, waiter was 12 minutes on even greeting our table and then literally could not figure out adding 4 to our party to save his life. Manager came to the rescue... NOT! He offered zero resolution and acted offended to be at our table. read more

The waiter didn't bring the coke for a long time. Burger bun was cut 10(top)/90(bottom). Hot water came in a metal mug... The metal handle was 1000°, so impossible to drink until the water was just lukewarm. "I think all the sauces use flour (which has gluten... I'm Celiac) as a thickener." After recutting the bun, the "medium rare" bison meat was raw (not rare... I could pull it out and form it into a raw meatball), and the bun was cold... like refrigerator cold. Manager was completely apathetic to our (respectful) complaints... Instead of apologizing or even acknowledging our issues, he just asked what temp I wanted the new burger cooked. New burger was tasteless, over-salted, and charred. When I bit in, it poured out more bloody juices than I have ever seen come out of a piece of meat. At that point, I lost my appetite and didn't even eat the nasty burger. OTHER NOTES: The artichoke dip came out with 4 small slices of bread (.5"x1"x2")... When asked for more bread, they said they would have to charge it. Another table near us also had issues, waiting on a coke so long that they finished their meal. ... All that being said, the music playing in the restaurant was great! read more

Impeccable. Very clean, incredible service, amazing food. Madelyn our waitress was beyond accommodating and amazing and I can't give her enough praise. She was so knowledgeable and recommended some amazing entrees. The scallops were plentiful and large, the roasted chicken was perfect and moist. The bread appetizer was amazing. Mac and cheese was amazing. Fried tomatoes amazing. We flat out would finish our bite of food and would compliment the restaurant and our food throughout the entire meal. I can't say enough great things. Deserves nothing less then 5 stars. The restaurant is beautiful and the awesome S'mores desert that you get to make yourself is so much fun and flat out incredible. read more

The filet mignon was perfect. The bourbon fondue was amazing. The "poRk bEllY" Mac N Cheese was tasteless. The "BbQ shRimP" tasted like it was bought at Walmart for $4.99 a bag, heated up and put on the plate with some pine nuts and "cheese". read more

Super amazing food! Our waitress Brooke was awesome. I got the salmon with vegetables and smashed potatoes. My husband got trout with vegetables and Mac and cheese. My in-laws both had the burger. One steak was perfect and the other was overcooked. My husband and I both ordered the 10 oz New York strip steak dinner, rare with veggies. My steak was cooked perfectly rare but my husband's was overcooked (he order rare but received medium). Both steaks lacked flavor so we added a1 sauce. The veggies were 3 baby carrots and a few small smashed potatoes which were bland. Service was meh. The manager did come over and ask if we wanted to have the overcooked steak replaced but declined as we had an event to attend and did not have time to wait for another to be made. I would have expected an apology for the mistake but there was no apology. To make things worse we were made to feel that by mentioning the steak being overcooked it was an inconvenience to the manager. This place is not on my recommended restaurant list. read more

Let's start at the end. The grown-up hot chocolate is the best part, and that is saying something. We enjoyed the salad, which was just your standard fare. The bread was tasty; crusty and chewy, with excellent butter and marmalade. Filets were cooked to the right level (yay!). We enjoyed the location, noise level, and the music was on point. Overall, this was head and shoulders above everything else we had in the area. And the waitstaff was excellent. read more

Food is not very good at all, shrimp was like chewing on bubble gum. Really only came for the cool s'more experience and even our skewers came out of the kitchen dirty. I'd avoid this place when visiting universal. Honestly wish I could give them 0 stars. read more

I really wanted to love this place, I had heard good things about it and was excited. First, let me say it's a beautiful restaurant. When I got there, as a single diner, they pushed me towards the bar. Usually I have no problem with this if I can attention at the bar. Being a Saturday night the bar was packed with small parties clamouring for the bartenders attention and no one seemed to want to deal with the single person who was not drinking. As for the food, I ordered the trout. The fish could have been cooked a bit more, and I've also never eaten at a place where the trout wasn't completely de-boned. No issue with bones if I am informed they are there. For sides I got the smashed fingerling potatoes and vegetables. The vegetables were so good, the best thing on the plate, lots of flavor. The potatoes were not so good. They were cold and seemed almost like they were sitting around for a while. Overall not the worst meal but not great either and if your dining alone find somewhere else that will actually care about you as a patron. read more

My man and I went here for our date night on our anniversary vacation and we got sat in this weird hallway type area off to the side at a really tight two top. The main dining area was lovely and that's why we chose it, and when we asked if we can sit there they said no even though there were a lot of empty tables. He got the cowboy ribeye and it was huge but GREASY and wasn't cooked how he asked(med rare), it was nearly grey in most spots. He ended up eating the ok parts. The veggies were a little on the raw side and under seasoned. It did give him really bad acid reflux because of the grease so watch out if you ever get that. I got the short rib pasta which wasn't bad but definitely on the bland side. Our server didn't seem to have any other tables near us as she only came back for just us which was odd and that was almost never, that's why we couldn't exchange the steak because she never came back to check on us or refill drinks til it was time for the check. When we finally did point out the half uneaten steak that was grey, and explained we didn't exchange cos we couldn't find her because we were sure she was very busy, she just said sorry about that and can she get us anything else or just the check? We wanted to have dessert but because the food and service was so horrendous and awkward, we ended up just sharing a milkshake at toothsome instead. I really absolutely do not recommend this place at all and urge you to skip. It's not worth the money at all. read more

IF YOU'RE from New York, don't come here. And I say this because of the array of restaurants that spoil us back home..... Only giving 3 stars purely because of the service. The host and waiter was insanely nice. The food- bleh. Probably would have enjoyed Applebee's way more for a third of the price. Saw another review that said everything was charred and smoky tasting - I can totally agree. For the amount of money you're paying for this food, the plating is absolutely horrible. I got the Brussels -charred and Smokey - the $32, 8oz Filet mignon (also charred and Smokey) and it fell short..... way short. It wasn't seasoned properly and literally tasted like a burnt piece of bbq. -- I needed steak sauce for a filet mignon..... A1 steak sauce on a filet mignon..... a huge no. The cut was nice and cooked well - But this was the only way I could eat it and enjoy it. The sides that came with it was literally 3 carrots and several smashed potatoes that I thought I was going to look forward to, because how do you mess potatoes up? Yet it was salty but flavorless. Lack of butter, no garlic, no rosemary, thyme?? Nothing. Beautiful restaurant but way over priced for their quality of food ...... really amazing service but I would skip it and go to the NBC restaurant instead. read more

Best sit down meal we had during our week at universal orlando for spring break 2022. Our reservation was at 6:15pm and we were seated with very little wait. Server was awesome and very attentive. We did not feel rushed and enjoyed our meal. We had the salmon, crab cakes, and my kids had their kids meal steak. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. In comparison, I also ordered the salmon entree from toothsome and mythos, where Bigfire's salmon was the best out of all the restaurants - wild caught, big portion, and cooked perfectly medium. read more

This is quite possibly my favorite Universal Citywalk restaurant so far! The atmosphere is wonderful with a mix of industrial-chic-campy. Food was excellent - we had the crispy bread, 6 oz filet, Big Fire burger and the fried chicken. Topped it off with table-side s'mores! The s'mores were pleasantly delicious and the little fire to roast the marshmallows was so creative! My kids loved this part. Excellent and tasty all around! The staff was very prompt, friendly and the service was amazing! Big shout-out to Megan, the Assistant Mgr, for checking in on us to make sure our experience was perfect! read more

Looks like a nice restaurant on the outside, and the hostess was very accommodating. The waitress however was noticeably irritable. The appetizer, which was basic bread, butter and jam came out slow and the actually meals were very underwhelming. For the cost you would expect the food to have seasoning. The short rib pasta was so bland, missing salt and any more ingredients. The chicken and steak skewers I ordered for my kid were dry and again no flavor. I was really disappointed because the ambiance was so nice. Seems like they rake in customers purely because of location and aesthetic. read more

Delicious food, great service and a solid atmosphere. Easily one of universal's best restaurants.

As this is newly opened it was my husband and my first visit, it will not be her last. The atmosphere was very nice, the service excellent and the food choices unique yet still comforting. We started with the Wood Oven Dip, this was excellent but I thought it could have had at least one more piece of bread for the amount of dip. I chose the Buttermilk fried chicken with pork belly Mac and cheese, coleslaw and corn bread. I found the chicken greasy and lacking in flavor other than buttermilk, the Mac and cheese could also have used just a dash of seasoning and the coleslaw was spot on. My husband had the Bison burger with a side of potato salad, he ordered it medium and it arrived medium rare, but the taste was amazing and the potato salad excellent. For dessert we had the S'More's for 2, it was a fun and didn't disappoint. Over all we both really enjoyed our dinner here. I will say that the table behind us also ordered burger and a steak that arrived under cooked, so maybe the chef was a bit off we will see next time! I would also like to point out that I mentioned that I had a nut allergy to the server but was not offered an allergy ingredient menu or to have the chef go over good options for me. I know as an adult I can read what is in the menu but sometimes there are items that are not listed. read more

If the three-star average rating does not warn you off, then maybe this will. Late after a day at a work conference in Feb 2020, I wanted to get a bite and this looked like one of the better options at Citywalk. I ordered the beef burgundy (also known as "boeuf bourguignon" to Julia Child fans) and a glass of Walla Walla, WA sauvignon blanc. A few issues right away: It took three tries before I got a clean knife. The wine was meh but, hey, it was my choice--at least it wasn't corked or anything. The real problem started with the entree. The beef was tough, indicating it had not been stewed long enough. Then I noticed that it tasted kind of crunchy--not quite burned, but not too far off. And it was oversalted. Normally, I would have sent it back, but I was hungry and short on time, so I ate it. At the end of the meal, when the waiter asked me how it was, I was upfront with him. He asked me if I was a chef, which of course I'm not. Never offered to discount or comp anything. I won't be coming back. I'm sure there's a McDonald's somewhere nearby... The mussel skillet looked OK. Maybe you'll get lucky. read more

It's been a few years since we've been here but my what a new great experience we had. We intentionally arrived right at opening since we didn't have a reservation given the holiday break. Lisa at the hostess stand let us know she had a table available 15 minutes from when we arrived and she'd let us know if there was one available sooner. We had enough time to grab a drink before dinner at another bar in city walk and before we knew it our table was ready! She was kind and helped us so expeditiously. Coming into dinner we had a few recommendations from our friends who visited the day before and Angie our server helped us finish out the order with great decisions. We were looking forward to trying the Malbec before ordering a Malbec and she informed us that it was one of her favorites (and for good reason!). The Malbec was light bodied and at a great temperature. We opted to split 3 apps and an entree in order to save room for dessert. The oyster Rockefellers were not bad, we regretted adding lemon but overall likely wouldn't order again. Let me tell you about the mussels though. The sauce that you dipped the mussels in was just divine. It hit that perfect flavor point with every bite and had an amazing savory balance. The fondue was amazing as well, loving the cauliflower the most. The cowboy ribeye ended up cooked a above what we requested, but it maintained its flavor and juiciness so we didn't need a replacement. We also ordered a side of the mushrooms, the sauce made it amazing. Finally we ended with the tabletop s'mores. They brought some homemade marshmallows (chocolate & vanilla!) peanut butter cups, Hershey bars and graham crackers. The homemade marshmallows were so good! It was so easy to get that perfect golden color. Angie was incredibly attentive and so great the whole time. Would highly recommend anyone looking for dining at city walk to check out Big Fire and ask for Angie if you can. read more

Ribeye was cooked perfectly. Wife's chicken sandwich was delicious. We ate at the bar, Drew took great care of us. WELL DONE!!

I hate to do this but.. it's the truth. My husband and I went here a few weeks ago for my birthday dinner. We had a res, and when we got there after waiting a while were sat in a corner that had ZERO ambiance (in a separate little room type area thing by an exit door) at a very tiny table. In that huge gorgeous restaurant. Oh well, luck of the draw! It took almost 15 minutes for someone to help us, and then FOREVER to get our drinks after that. Sat without refills for like 30 min too, and after being at the parks all day we really needed water so that was a downer. It took an hour after we ordered to get our food, which I will admit was decent although they severely overcooked my steak. I asked for med rare and got almost well done. For how long it took, I ate some of it there and took the rest to just attempt to eat later. We also finally got bread literally 2 minutes before our food came. It was ridiculous. Everyone around us was coming and going, getting excellent service. Got bread right away. I felt like we were just forgotten about honestly. I had high expectations for this place as in I expected decent service and my food to be made correctly, but it was horrible horrible service. I was so surprised. I walked through the big dining room with envy, at all the happy people getting served, full glasses, laughing, smiling etc. We had a really bad time here. Going back to City Walk next week and will eat somewhere else. I honestly truly can not recommend coming here because you, too, might end up being stuffed in a corner and forgotten about. I was thrilled to write a positive review and was ready to take pictures of all our beautiful food but alas, fell very short for our first visit. read more

Such a fun and nice experience. Service is awesome too! Anthony is amazing! Will come back again and I recommend to everyone visiting universal studios! read more

I get it was 9:30 and close to closing time, but waiter gave me paper napkins instead of running upstairs like other waitress did for table next to me to get a real napkin. Had to wait a bit to just get waited on and when my Brussel sprouts came out they were lukewarm. Bread on fondue platter was a bit stale , might have been better if handed to me as soon as done and still hot . Steak was so so , for the price I wish I had a better knife. I had to put a paper napkin under cutting board to keep ( plate) still. Even though I'm on a diet , I may have gotten a desert had I been asked . I will say the potatoes and the carrots on my main dish were the best part of the meal, and I don't eat potatoes. Plus I forget Medium rare in Florida is rarer then rare . Easily one of my new favorite places for steak. Part of the dining plan included the filet mignon which was incredibly delicious probably one of the best steaks I've ever had. They cook it with wood and you really taste the wood fire taste. The potatoes au gratin and vegetables were also very flavorful. The choice of desserts for the plan was either the chocolate cherry cake or the apple pie and both were really good. The bourbon vanilla doesn't skimp on the bourbon and everything was served warm and very delicious! I definitely felt we got our money worth here for the quality of the food. Fair atmosphere as you get views of the cooks in the kitchen and the exterior is the universal CityWalk. Service seems very hands off once they find out you are on the dining plans they pretty much just do what is necessary and maybe assume that you won't be giving a gratuity because maybe that's what most people have done in the last? But here I always asked to charge a $0.01 and run my card so I can tip them all that tipping based on what the entrees and drinks would have cost. Overall great experience here read more

The service we received was phenomenal. The server (I wish I remembered his name) was so attentive. He began by asking if anyone had food allergies. I recently developed a shellfish allergy and this was my first time going out to eat.l since receiving the diagnosis. He explained they have a special allergy kitchen which was beyond my expectations. He gave recommendations for both food and things to do in the park. Our waters were never empty. Food came out quickly. The quality of the food was better than I expected at a theme park. I had the lamb shank which was very good. Others in my party had the short rib pasta, fondue, salmon and beef burgundy. No complaints; everyone was very pleased. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. This restaurant cares far more about profits than customer service. We were (reluctantly!) sat after waiting 25+ minutes past our reservation time. Noticeably, they sat several tables with reservations *after* ours, before us and other guests. The food portions were pathetically small (photo is before anything was eaten), cold, and mediocre at best. Our waiter was polite but would stop by our table while holding other table's dirty dishes. And to add insult to injury, we were overcharged. Just do yourself a favor and go to one of the many other restaurants in CityWalk. read more
