I must of called Dave about 5 or 6 times, asked him if he comes to the home, he said he does not. As a care taker, its hard for me to leave the person I am caring for too long. When I finally got the time to go to his work place, I was pleasantly surprised. I wanted to take in my HP Windows 10, and upgrade it to a Windows 11. We stopped by because we needed some help installing a hard drive inside a cramped Alienware computer. Dave expertly was able to take out the stuck graphics card and install the hard drive. I just came from Big Sky Computers and met Dave, the owner. I brought in an old HP personal computer that I was getting ready to toss into recycling, but wanted to save my documents on Microsoft Word, the 2007 version of Microsoft windows. He was wonderful! I explained my problem and he fixed it in 30 minutes or so. I stayed longer to talk the latest buzz about AI, which he was informed of. He's a great guy to talk to about anything. Came in with technically two computers. Me and my father were trying to move the hard drive from one to the other. The second computer refused to see the drive. After hours of dealing with being told I was wrong I finally took them to big sky to get them looked over. He was extremely empathetic to my stress over losing my hardware and was able help me narrow down the problem, and was able to guide me to a data recovery service. I recommend Big Sky Computer Company highly. Dave, the owner, certainly knows his stuff. I have an HP Desktop from 2005, an ancient relic, with over 10,000 musical performances and songs on it. I use this computer for burning CDs to give music away as gifts. It has two DVD disc drives. The first one began acting erratic so using Yelp I found Big Sky, read the reviews and was smitten. I called and spoke with Dave. He met me outside his shop and immediately identified what a relic it is. He said he couldn't promise a new drive; they don't make them anymore for a desktop as old as mine, but that he would do his best to locate and install a refurbished one, and he did. He also checked out and tested the second drive and found it in working perfectly fine; cleaned out the dust in the case; and his charge was so reasonable I was floored. My desktop DVD drive works perfectly now. I'm so pleased with Dave's honesty and integrity. I have another HP desktop which is a Windows 7. I just picked up my fixed HP desktop from Big Sky. I spent a week attempting to fix the problem myself, using all the brain cells I could muster after working for a software company for 28 years. I learned a lot during that week but not enough... so I handed it over to Dave. He determined the hard drive was damaged, could fix but never as good - or replace. Let me start by saying, it's easy to get screwed over when it comes to computer repairs. I work from home so my computer is everything. One day, it wouldn't turn on. After all of my diagnosing, I broke down and searched yelp for a repair shop. Close to my house and great reviews I came to Big Sky. The owner is a one man show. I told him the problem and left my name and number. An hour or so later he calls and tells me it was just a power cord and only charged me $10. I woke up this morning and pressed the power button on my computer tower only to hear a loud POP! I went on some geek speak websites that said I should try to replace the power button itself that connects to the motherboard OR try to replace the power cord to the tower. After hours of doing this, I realized it must be the Power Supply Unit. As I looked on NewEgg and Amazon for a replacement PSU, my eyes began to glaze over from the lack of information I was getting. I've never had to replace one so I didn't know which one I needed. That's when I took to Yelp and searched for "Best Computer Repair in Henderson". After reading tons of positive reviews about Big Sky Computers, I called David and I'm SO glad I did. I went to Dave's shop on Sunset Rd between Gibson and Boulder Hwy. Dave immediately diagnosed the problem and thank goodness my three hard drives and my motherboard were not burned up by the power supply failing. Dave had me in and out within 30 minutes! This place is amazing . Dropped off my computer to have checked out the screen would not come on . Dave said he would call me in a couple hours and he did . He was reviewing my computer and saw that an old Norton was not working properly and because the computer was stored it had over 100 updates to load with the new Windows 10 that was never installed due to not having the computer out of storage . Walked in with my laptop in hand, thinking that I had a virus (not from downloading porn) and assuming that all of my family photos were gone for. Upon entering, I am greeted by, whom I assume is the owner, and he immediately walks over to help me. In less than two minutes, he has my computer rebooted and I'm logging in, perplexed by the fact that I couldn't complete this myself. Lol. He changes a few settings and explains what may have been causing the problem. The photos are there and he doesn't even ask to be paid. I offer and hand him cash for his help.
