Worst tacos and Elote I've ever had and their "queso" is gas station nacho cheese, the entire experience left a bad after taste in my mouth

Looking for delicious, fulfilling, and flavorful food? Then this is the place for you! Ordered a burrito bowl with the vegan spicy chorizo and it was delicious. Definitely spicy too, unlike other foods that claim to be "spicy". As an extra treat, get the churros..they are so crunchy, then soft- the perfect churro. Went with a friend and the wait was not long at all, there were even order ahead of ours that went through quickly. Staff here are VERY friendly and went out of their way to make sure you didn't miss out on anything. 10/10, would 100% recommend. As much as I wanted to love this place it just wasn't as good as I hoped it'd be. I live about an hour away from here and yesterday my husband and I decided to take the drive. We ordered the Birria ramen, papi taco, burrito, Birria taco, nachos, and esquite with hot Cheetos. The only thing I could say was AMAZING was the Birria taco, it was the best I'd ever had but considering this was the first thing I had tried I had super high hopes for the rest of our order. It was okay.. the rice was salty (in my opinion) the Birria ramen was also okay, the hot Cheetos on the esquite were stale (they were hard) as if they were left out all day. Everyone is right. This place is great. get the Barria Tacos and the Barria Ramen. They both are simple but amazingly flavorful.

Food is really good! Not your typical taco place. Birria tacos are my favorite, but that Birria meat is good on/in everything (quesadilla, burrito, etc.). Take out only, but the place is clean and bright. People are friendly and service has been fast. Don't forget to enjoy the birria broth (consommé) when your done. So I have heard so much about this place so me and two of my friends ordered a ton of different stuff off their menu. The rice and beans weren't that great the rice was definitely not cooked all the way through was hard and dry even with the beans. The tacos were good but if you get the shrimp tacos there were only three shrimps in it. The fries with the steak was good. The corn with the Cheetos wasn't that great. Definitely canned corn that was heated up and then the Cheetos gets soft and soggy and wasn't that great. I think that over all of was ok. Oh and you can add rice beans and drink to make it a combo you pay extra and then they tell you sorry we don't have drinks but still charge you the full combo price. The one thing I will say about this place and the main reason it's getting only three stars is because it's hell of expensive! 13 dollars for 3 tacos is crazy. It doesn't come with anything just three little tacos. For a single person you will end up paying $20. We payed close to $100 just to try different things on their menu. I'm not impressed for the price. There are a ton of different places that makes the same tacos for cheaper. I won't come here again because it's just too expensive for what you get. read more

When my husband suggested getting tacos at a place that's located in a corporate office building, I was skeptical. But trust me, there's no need to be. When we walked in probably looking a little lost, the nice guy behind the counter explained their ordering system and we quickly decided what we wanted. I got the Papi Taco and my husband got the vegan spicy chorizo taco. You may well ask yourself whether one taco is worth $6.50, and the answer is yes, yes it is. It was a meal in itself, full of tasty steak, beans, and cheese with some fresh chopped tomatoes and a drizzle of guacamole on top. The tortillas at the bottom soaked up all the savory juices and were delicious. My husband loved his taco and his only regret was that he didn't order three. I had no regrets. We'll definitely be back, I'm looking forward to trying more menu items. I hope they offer a couple more vegetarian options eventually, but the vegan taco will probably keep the hubby happy for a while. read more

So.. the tacos are pretty good besides the big papi burps that follow. I enjoy the taste however the price of the big papi sauce is frankly just too high. This being said I was surprised the queso was so inexpensive, however this was later followed with disappointment that the cheese is basketball game nacho cheese! Big Papi's is takeout only, but they serve the best tacos in Frederick! My orders are reliably hot, fresh and delicious! I also recommend the Mexican street corn with every taco order. The carne asada tacos are particularly flavorful and worth the trip! Highly Recommended! read more

My wife and I recently discovered Big Papi's we have now been twice in the last few weeks. I want to start off by saying the food is great and we will continue to go back. I only really have one complaint, both times items were missing from our order. The first time we caught it and it was fixed with no issue. We did not catch it the second time. I was so excited to eat my birria tacos and was less then thrilled to find out there was no birria sauce in the bag. Also my wife's burrito was missing several toppings that she had chosen, some that we paid extra for. I was curious if this is happening to other people and I noticed this is kind of an unfortunate reoccurring trend when I was reading through other reviews. The business is carry out only there really isn't much excuse for missing items. It's really disheartening especially when you don't live close to the restaurant. I really hope they work on this because as I said before the food is great. All that to say if you try Big Papi's, CHECK YOUR ORDER before you leave! read more

Decided to check out big papis restaurant. They have a time for orders online which is 11am-4pm, so I went at 6 and it was packed. I'm assuming since it's a new restaurant in Frederick they have a lot of orders for now. Anyways I waited 40 mins to get my food and it was pricey! I paid $32 for birria tacos and quesadillas and a spicy elote. My husband and I tried the food and it was horrible. I'm not sure if it was the meat but it smelled horrible and tasted like old expired meat. The seasoning was really bad and it didn't taste right. Then for the elote I was expecting an actual elote but I got a container with some canned corn, Mayo and a little bit of Cheetos. It was like jail food. Im Mexican and this was not an authentic meal in my opinion. The food looked great but did not taste good. Maybe other meats are better but definitely not the birria meat that they offer. After an hour my husband and I got food poisoning but now we know not to get their birria meat again. read more
