Technicians could not pinpoint a exact root cause during the recheck. Their prevailing theory was that something might have been spilled in the backseat--potentially by one of my children--causing the malfunction. They confirmed they could not permanently turn off the seatbelt alarm, so we opted to use the seatbelt extender as a solution. What I appreciated I'm grateful that Tom Wood Toyota reached out for a second chance and worked with me to address the issue. Their willingness to re-test and re-evaluate shows a commitment to customer service and safety. What I would have valued more: Earlier transparency about the possibility that a spill could affect the seatbelt system. If this had been mentioned during the initial service call, it could have saved us time, grief, and their money. Clearer guidance upfront on potential causes and realistic timelines for resolution, so expectations are aligned from the start. Overall: I'm glad we found a workable path forward with the seatbelt extender, and I appreciate the GM's engagement. During the visit, my service advisor informed me that my tires needed to be replaced, even though the vehicle had only about 24,000 miles on it and the tires are covered by a 50,000-mile manufacturer warranty. When I questioned this recommendation, I was told that the dealership does not work with manufacturer tire warranties and that, based on the advisor's experience, tire warranties are rarely honored because tire wear depends on how a vehicle is driven. This explanation did not seem reasonable, so I contacted Michelin directly and opened a warranty case myself. Over the following week, I called the dealership on three separate occasions and left messages requesting assistance. None of my calls were returned. I also texted my service advisor, who told me he would contact Michelin on my behalf, but no action appeared to be taken. After receiving no meaningful assistance, I returned to the dealership in person on September 21. I explained that if they could not help me, I would take my vehicle elsewhere. Only then did the advisor contact Michelin while I was present. When I spoke directly with Michelin's warranty representative, I was told that my tires were completely fine, safe to drive, and had approximately 20,000 miles of usable life remaining. In other words, the recommendation to replace the tires was unnecessary. What frustrates me most is not only the inaccurate advice but also the lack of communication and customer service. I had to spend my own time researching the issue, opening a warranty case, making multiple phone calls, and returning to the dealership in person before anyone took action. Customers should be able to trust the recommendations they receive from a dealership service department. Unfortunately, this experience left me questioning both the accuracy of the advice I was given and the level of customer support provided. I expected much better from Tom Wood Toyota.

I was thinking the tire could be patched, but their mechanic discovered - and showed me - that the interior of the wheel had been damaged as well(!). Since I wasn't local, I was concerned it might take a few days to get a replacement wheel, and certainly didn't want to drive the rest of my trip on the space-saver spare. Trevor and Devin went through the options, and thankfully, not only were they able to source a replacement wheel but got it delivered the same day.
