When I have a tire issue on the tractor trailer, I like to find the Pomps in the area because they usually have the tires I need and their service is typically first rate. This is the first Pomps I've been at that has terrible customer service. From the girl on the phone and the People in the office, this looks like an awful place to work and the employees reflect that impression. My mechanic however did a very good job and got me in and out with no problems and plenty of confidence. Hopefully management will read this and work on customer service a bit? if you had a bad experience at this Pomps please know the rest of them across the country are typically five stars. read more

Read review on this place and we can say customer service is there, we got a flat tire on the hwy during the winter storm and call up Pomp's. They answer our questions and provide fast service. We got a new tire replacement under 30minutes, initially they offer to fix the tire but was honest to let us know we'd need a new one after taking it out. I have had to come here multiple times in the middle of the night with my work truck to get tires patched or worse case replaced. Their service thus far has always been quick, efficient, and pleasant. I have yet to have any bad experiences with the employees working nights. Unless they are backed up, I can usually get in and out within 15-20 min. They also offer for you to leave the tire if it is all ready off and just call when it's done. Their pricing is reasonable as well. They make sure that your safe and if your tire is not able to be road ready without being a hazard they will do their best to help you out. The only thing keeping me currently from a 5 star is their tire selection. As often as I feel myself and a couple others go, they would keep 1 set of heavy duty rough terrain tires on hand. I took my truck in for an alignment. First the customer service was shabby at best. I wasn't greeted or told someone would be with me shortly. The guy at the desk just chatted away on the phone. They took my truck in for the alignment. (I'm a mechanic) I went into the shop to check and the tech hadn't centered the steering wheel before the alignment. After he "finished" (which they didn't test drive) the alignment I paid and tried to drive it. It was way out of alignment. It pulled severely to the right as where if I steered straight the truck would have driven into the ditch. I went back and asked the tech if he centered the steering wheel and he said he did (after I already saw that he didn't). He then took it in and realigned it (just adjusting the toe) and then test drove it. After coming in he told me it was because there was a power steering leak (which has no bearing on the alignment). Previously, as I was paying they told me the front end was good and didn't need any parts replaced. However, after the test drive he told me the tie rod ends were loose. I reminded him they had already told me the front end was good. Then he tried to claim since it was an older truck it had a dead spot in the steering. If you pull the truck in straight, center the steering wheel and the tires are straight it would have been fine. So, because of the piss poor customer service, the shoddy workmanship and the blatant lies I will certainly not be taking my vehicle there in the future! read more

The day I discovered Pomp's, my work day started with me arriving at work, parking on the 6th floor of the parking garage (the rooftop), and realizing, as I was walking away from my car, that one of my tires was bulging. Not a great way to start my day. But I was oh so thankful that the tire hadn't burst. My husband drove down to downtown Indy after work and met me at my car and put the spare tire on. But I wasn't really excited about making the trek out of downtown to our home on a spare. But what else do you do when it's after hours. Had a blow out driving from Kansas to the East Coast drove 60miles on a donut with a trailer, this was the only place within 70 miles that was open on Easter Sunday with the 19" tire that we needed! We pulled up van full of kids and everyone was able to stay in the car for the 10min it took to mount balance and replace the tire didn't even have to unhitch the trailer! They saved us!!! My family and I were driving into the night from Florida back to Illinois. About 1,000 miles into a 1300+ mile ride I carelessly run over debris on the middle of I-65. My low tire pressure light goes of... we were able to get to a gas station and I see a shard of metal in our left rear tire... I was able to find Pomp's on Apple Maps and spoke to Adam. He said they were opened and just come on over. It was 11:30 pm and they were open. I got the spare on car and drove the 20 miles up to their shop. Not gonna lie, my wife and I were weary to be in a dark isolated business center. After driving 16+ hours with 3 small kids in the back we needed to get back home...Adam and his crew saved us! They looked at the tire and were honest about not being able to fix it so we had to replace the tire. They back on the road within 30 minutes!!! They were friendly and cool. Car trouble is never fun but Pomp's always makes it as painless as possible. I experienced an unfortunate turn of events this morning while on my way to a shopping extravaganza. Just before the highway (thank goodness) the nasty steam started billowing from under my hood. I immediately called Pomp's and was told I could be seen right away. 20 minutes later I had a terrifying but gently delivered diagnosis and price quote. While the repair will prevent me from feeding my shopping addiction today, I'm happy Pomp's was there to make the whole thing as painless as possible. They also do fantastic tune ups and oil changes. My wife and I stopped in downtown Indianapolis for a dinner break on a road trip to Louisville. As we entered the parking deck, I noticed some guy in another car mouthing to me, "Your tire's flat!" and pointed to the rear tire. Hmm. Strange. Didn't notice anything wrong, car was nice and level, rode smoothly. We parked, and....sure enough, flat. And of course, this was when all the car and tire places in the area were about to close for the day. I did a search for "24 7 tire repair" and found a place and called them, but the guy said they only do trucks, and they told me to call Pomp's. Yelp said they close at 5, but I figured call them anyway. The guy on the phone said, "We never close!" Anyhoo, donut was put on the car, and we drove over to Pomp's. Probably in under half an hour they had our tire fixed up for just a hair over twenty bucks. And yes, like one reviewer said, they had Fox News on in the lobby, but the volume was fine, and even though my wife and I obviously did not likely agree politically with the staff there, they were very friendly and had us on our way. My Mother-In-Law and I were traveling from PA to NE in her motor home to pick someone up and bring them back. On the way out, we blew an outer tire of the rear dual wheels. We called AAA and after 6 hours of waiting along a busy highway, we decided to try to find our own assistance. I found Pomps. Not knowing the area, I spoke to Brian at their Joilet location. He had the tire, but it would be another 2 hours until roadside could get there. He suggested we call the Hammond Location because they were closer to us. I called and spoke to Joe. Joe was incredible! I sent him a screen shot of our exact location and help was with us within the hour! Paco is the one that came and changed the tire. Joe and Paco made our day! We were so frustrated with AAA and their horrible service. Brian got us on the right track, Joe and Paco hit it home! We had a fast leak on I-55 a few weeks back 3 hours from home on a 15 hour drive. Due to one odd lug on the affected tire, and lack of the right wrench, my wife, my kids and I were stranded. Called several times to Allstate Roadside Assistance and got the robot runaround. I was losing my cool fast, when up pulls Pomps tire service as if God heard our prayers. Gary from Pomps had the tire fixed and back on faster than I could put my spare tire away (no kidding). The fix was good as new, tire hasn't been a problem since. I would recommend calling these guys if you need to get back on the road fast with a permanent fix, not just help putting on the donut. read more

On Friday, 11/29/19, I had a flat tire on the highway near the airport. I called my road service. They came and informed me that they can't fix it because my spare wasn't good. So, I called for towing to the nearest tire shop. The service man gave me a card for Pomp's Tires. I went there. After waiting hours, they fixed the flat tire and charged me 26$. When I got home on Saturday, the next morning, I saw that I had a flat tire again. It was the same tire they had "fixed". When I took a closer look, I didn't see any new nails or screws that may have punctured the tire and caused the flat again. I saw a hole where the plug they inserted used to be. I called Pomp's Tires and asked for a manager or someone in charge. His solution was for me to bring the tire back to him so he can "see" what happened. I live 35 miles away. That's 70 miles back and forth.I asked if there was anything else he could do, like refund my card. He said no. I decided to just fix it myself this time and replace the tire at home. In the end, I don't recommend this place at all. The tire they fixed only lasted me 35 miles back home from their store and wasted my money. They also charged me 5$ for "shop supplies" and I was never told what this charge was for. Is it for the coffee I took while waiting, that's SUPPOSED to be free for customers? Ill leave the judgement up to you. read more

We were on our way to a Baseball game in Cincinnati on a Sunday morning when the valve stem on our tire broke and we were left with a flat tire. We went to Pomp's and although it was crowded, they knew they could fix our problem quickly and put a few guys on our job right away. Wonderful awesome service from Zakk today; I brought my car in to have the two rear tires checked for balance. Zakk took the time before beginning any work to ask why I thought it was an issue with the tires. After thoroughly investigating my explanation, Zakk was able to pinpoint my issue and make additional recommendations on how to proceed in the future with a front rim that had a slight issue (in addition to balancing the rear tires) Other shops would have just performed the service I requested without any questions and charged me twice what Pomp's did! I had a problem with a tire that Pomp's had replaced on my 2006 Honda Odyssey. When the Honda dealer rotated the tire up to the front, the caliper was hitting the wheel weights used for balancing. I brought the Odyssey in to Pomp's and with no haggling and no charge they rebalanced and rotated the tire to the front. This is great customer service!! I went to Pomp,s to get a leaking tire fixed in the middle of a weekday afternoon. The tire was patched fine. The problem I had was that they have two waiting rooms and both had televisions tuned AT HIGH VOLUME TO FOX NEWS. There was no escaping it. Then, the tire technician, who was supposed to be fixing my tire, comes into the waiting room, sits down next to me and starts loudly commenting on politics. He seemed to be trying to get a rise out of me. I just wanted to get my tire fixed, not get recruited into the Tea Party. If you do not want this right wing "entertainment" with your service, I would recommend you find another tire establishment. read more

Two of my tires were slashed last night at the dump where I'm currently living. Pomp's came out on the coldest winter day and was amazing. They only brought one and had to go back to get another.
