My time was waisted this morning when I brought my vehicle in for an inspection. I had an appointment at 10am. I respected their time by arriving early. I sat in the lobby for over an hour while my vehicle sat in the parking lot. They disrespected my time by not honoring the scheduled time. I watched as walk-ins got there problems taken care of and left. Perhaps I should not have made an appointment? Or is it that because they don't make any money on inspections and there is no priority; even for a scheduled appointment? After an hour and 15 minutes, I requested my keys back and will seek my inspection elsewhere. My money is best spent elsewhere for tires or any other service as well. Somewhere that respects the time of their customers, no matter what service is being performed. read more

I was so impressed with my experience at Big O Tires! I had a nail in my tire and my wheel lock key had been misplaced (I believe by the Mercedes dealership since I didn't even know what it was). One of the guys working on it went to check to see if his wheel lock key would work and it did. He then wrote down what he used so o could order a replacement on Amazon. Jim's Tow recommended Big O Tires to fix a flat that could not be fixed. However, Big O Tires claimed to have changed my oil and charged me labor although I did not authorize the work or the expense - and there is not evidence that the oil was actually changed (the sticker was not updated from where I usually go). They also were not honest about the cost or options available for the tire or tire replacement, instead they kept the price high by neglecting to disclose what the quote entailed. This place is an absolute joke. I got all full set of new tires spending nearly $1,800. I get my car back and all of a sudden my steering wheel is shaking and my car is vibrating any time I go 60-65 miles or higher. I then take my car back a couple days later for them to look at it- they say it's fixed. But the manager wasn't able to test drive it so they have us do it. Ends up driving fine. A couple days later it shaking bad again on the highway so I have to go back and have them take a look at it. The manager states he may have to change out the back tires and he says he's going to have to order tires because they don't keep them in stock if they go that route. Then later the same day they call me to tell me they changed out my back tires (I thought they didn't have them in stock? So how?) and it's still shaking and that it's not the tires causing this and blaming it on my rims which can't be the case my car wasn't doing this before it was in their possession. read more

Bad experience at Big O'tires in Lee's Summit. 6/18 - Daughter's right tire goes flat. Not repairable. 6/19 - I contact Big O'tires, and they say they can get the same tire in 1-2 days. I request that they order it. 6/21 - I call Big O'tires to see where the tire is. They leave me on hold for 15 minutes. I call back, and they say they will have the guy that took the order call me back. 3 hours later I call back and the guy who placed the order says he has no idea where it is. He said he would look into it. No call back. 6/22 - I call them back and talk to a different guy. He says he would find out what happened and call me back. He doesn't. 6/24 - I call McCarthy Hyundai in Blue Springs, order the same tire. 6/25 - McCarthy installs tire. I still have not heard a peep out of Big O'tires. If they say they will call you back, they won't. They are Big O'Liars. McCarthy took good care of us. read more

I went to Big O to get a slow leak fixed. I was told my tires were too old and they wouldn't fix it. My tires have less the 38,000 miles on them. The guy that "helped" me was curt and short with me. I went to Firestone and they said sure, we'll fix it. The Firestone dude was personable and polite. I wouldn't touch Big O with a 37 1/2 foot pole! My gf's steering wheel was shaking pretty bad after sliding on ice & hitting a curb, twice... ya I know, right? So, had to get it fixed, dropped it off & fixed up in a day. Alignment & new tire, reasonable price. Customer service was great. They even fixed that annoying whining sound the car made when you started it up, who the heck knows what that was. I've purchased a few sets of tires for different vehicles from BIg O in Lees Summit in the last 6 years. Previously never had any issues and generally am pleased with the deals they offer. I recently had an issue with a failing tire pressure sensor and took my truck in to get it replaced. Sales was clear and quick and service was quick enough, unfortunately I found my wheel was damaged in the process. This was the second time my wheels have been damaged like this during tire service (the first was at a different tire shop in a different city) so I've learned that it really is caused by a terrible clad wheel design. The plastic clad cover is susceptible to damage by the machine that breaks the tire from the wheel. If the machine gets between the cladding and the wheel it will separate and destroy the cladding. Anyway, after the damage was identified, Nolan, the shop manager at Big O searched for a replacement wheel for me. He showed he cared about the quality of the wheel to match my existing wheel and called a couple times to keep me updated on the status. When I was able to find time to come back to the shop a week later Nolan immediately got my truck in the shop and replaced the wheel with very little wait time. I appreciate Big O and Nolan's efforts to make it right. 4 stars instead of 5 only because there were some initial reservations/denial from Big O about the cause of the damage. In the end, they made it right and I will continue business with them. read more

However, the last couple times I have gone to this store for tire replacement or repair, they never have any time. We had purchased over 900 in tires and it came with a free oil change certificate with no expiration date on it. We typically have it changed at the dealership but on this occasion they were booked and previously had a tire repair and purchase of another 500 worth of tires for our other car and had great experiences. So we felt ok let's give them a try. Upon presentation of the voucher we were told by management it was expired and it was up to him to redeem it or not and he said you can go somewhere else if you don't like it. We don't have to do anything it's a free country. Mind u I had already been waiting 2 hours. What horrible customer service and attitude for your company. Back to Firestone we go! I have been taking my cars here for a while ... but the last couple of years this place has gone downhill. The same tire has been giving me problems for a while. so I take it and of course they say I need ALL new tires! So of course I do. Well after 2 days that same tire is still going flat! So I wait a couple of weeks until I have time to bring it back plus Christmas time. Well 1 day before I leave for vacay tire is flat. So I take it and put air. And I have been putting air consistently for weeks now just to maintain. So 4 times in one week it has been flat. Make appt to have it looked at again and they proceed to tell me NOTHING is wrong with it. So it just goes flat for no reason?? Hmmm ok, then tells me my tire sensors are out and my tires are overfilled. Which has nothing to do with my particular flat tire. So trying to make me feel stupid. Took my car in on Monday morning, 1/4 for four new tires. I was told that they had to get them from the wear house, and they would be there that afternoon. Which is ok. They let me know that for some reason they didn't get placed on the truck. So I left the car there overnight to have them put on the following day and you have to realize this is difficult when I drive 40 minutes to work. I was understanding. When I stopped to pick it up on Tuesday, 1/5, I asked Dave , " What is the balance and mounting charge for?" He told me, " It's what we charge to mount and balance your tires and I can take the tires off your car if you don't want to pay it!" Not what I wanted to hear, even if he thought that was funny. Didn't find it all funny! I had to bring it back on Thursday morning, 1/7, because the front tires were vibrating, once again I have to work, so I speak with Kevin who tells me, "The tire was really out of balance, so they are balanced now." I leave and head into work the next morning and the same thing happens at about 70mph.THIS IS WHAT I PAID FOR WITH THE BALANCE CHARGE. Back again on Saturday evening. Dave says I'll have to leave it, I'm not able too. How long does it take to balance a tire? THAT I PAID FOR! Monday, 1/11, I bring it in to have it balanced and Kevin tell me that the balancing machine is not working right and the guy would be there sometime today. I CANNOT KEEP BRINGING MY CAR BACK OVER AND OVER! I asked Kevin to call me when it's fixed so I can make arrangements to get out of work and get it done today. He told me he might leave early. So besides all the negative reviews, this location in Lees Summit has always been a great experience for me. They have always been prompt with work and they do a good job. I had a tire replaced last year and it started to bubble. That tire is covered under warranty and they got me in the same week quick! I asked them to check my brakes as a precaution due to a squeaking noise and they ended up finding a small rock in one of the brakes that was causing the noise. They also said my brakes are fine for a while as they aren't worn enough yet. Honesty like that you don't receive too often these days. Kevin has been a great help as well. There's another worker who usually answers the phone who I will say, needs some major customer service work as he is very rude, rushes you on the phone, and just unprofessional. Edit: 8/31/2023 Kevin called me this morning after seeing my text reply back. He apologized and took full responsibility. He also has offered for me to come by the shop and will reimburse for the sensor. I appreciate this very much and this will go a long way to earning back my business. We made an appointment to get a TPMS sensor changed on my wife's Jeep and also to have the tires rotated and balanced. The appointment was for noon on Monday 8/28/2023 and my wife showed up on time. She had to wait and was told it should take no time. She went to lunch with her mom and came back an hour later and they hadn't even started working on the Jeep. She went to work and let me know they would call me when they were done. I finally called them at 3:47pm to ask if they were done and they said they were finished. I told them we would be there around 6:00 to pick it up. We get there and the truck was sitting in the entrance to the parking lot, not in a parking space and unlocked. I got in to see if the system was reset and.... Nope it was still showing the front drivers side tire as low. I went inside and talked to the man at the counter and asked why the TPMS wasn't replaced he grabbed the ticket and said that it wasn't on the work order. He shows me the work order and right on it the thing says in hand writing one bad sensor. So I said it says it right here I would think that would be enough to change it and my wife also told the kid that wrote the ticket up that she wanted it changed and got a price for the part, not to mention the appointment was made to change a TPMS sensor! I then said well you have had my Jeep for 6 hours and you didn't do the work I wanted and if you rotated the tires why does it still show the drivers side front as not working? He argued with me that he would have to go see for himself like I was lying to him. He came back inside and I said I want this fixed today. So they pulled the car back in and fixed it. I stood there and watched to make sure that they reprogrammed the Jeep to the new locations and to the new sensor. Today Kevin, the "manager" texted me asking if everything was great and I filled him in on what all happened and told him he would never see any more of my business ever again. Was told the oil change should take about 1 hour it took over 2 and a half. the front desk guy told me I gave him the wrong keys when he just tried the wrong car and then lost my keys my car then sat in the bay never being looked at for an hour and a half and I was told they were buttoning it up and should be done real quick before it was even started. Ripoff business. I went their for vehicle inspection and it failed because of sway links. They wanted to replace on the spot for $340. I got it home and checked and there was nothing wrong with the links. I took the car to the Missouri motor vehicle and they checked and said nothing wrong with the links. They said there is a lot of problems with Big O. The patrol office called Big O and told them the car passed and that I would be over to get the passed sticker. They have always taken great care of me in the past. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different. I dropped my car off in the morning for a scheduled oil change. I was told it will be a couple hours. When I showed up to pick it up in the evening, it hadn't been touched. 7 hours later... what really frustrated me was the workers attitude towards me. Their service was slow. They said they had a new guy working. I was patient and understanding. My truck had a bad vibration. I took the truck back to them and told them that Hankook tires put a yellow dot that has the be installed by the valve stem for proper balancing. They just rebablnced them with moving the yellow dots to their proper position. It still vibrates. I took it to my dealership and they mounted them correctly and the vibration is gone. Warning!!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO BIG O!!! Especially the Lee's Summit location!!! They tried to pull a complete scam on my brother. He took his car in for an alignment, only reason he agreed was because they said they would give him a discount on the alignment because of the major issues he had with the garbage tires they sold him before. When he picked up his car they said they could only align the front, and that the back was "seized" so they couldn't complete the job. They still charged him for a four wheel alignment, and then said that if he wanted the job finished their shop could put the parts on the back and finish the rest of the alignment for free. For "free" after they charge him an arm and a leg for all that unnecessary work to the back of his car!!! We knew it was a scam. He then took it to Goodyear in Blue Springs and explained the situation. Right away, they told my brother that if they couldn't complete the job then they wouldn't charge him. Turns out that they had no trouble at the Goodyear shop completing the alignment. They said that the back wasn't seized at all, and also informed my brother that the crap alignment that Big O did to the front would have caused major damage to his car. Big O did give his alignment money back when confronted with all this evidence. But when he went to pick up the money they tried to tell my brother that Goodyears computers were wrong!!!! Went in to have slow leak fixed on tire and rotate tires watching employee working on my car start working on wrong tire let sales rep know he said they did right tire I told them I needed front tire fixed not back he went out told tire kid that he wrote down wrong tire that he needed to do front the tire lid said he got right tire and just put the bad tire on the rear. The sales rep said he did the right tire also even though I watched the whole process from the window. There was no manger on sight to talk to so going to end up going back. Made an appointment on a Wednesday to do a state inspection on Thursday. We had a 9:00am appointment and dropped the car off at 8:45, being told that it would be ready by 3pm. We called them around 12:45 to check on the status of the car, and were told it is "next in line" and "will be done in an hour." We called back at 3pm and were told, "It's almost done. It will be done within an hour." When we showed up at 5pm to get the car, we were told that it was "up and almost done." When asked how long it would take, (we had to juggle car seats and children and work and appointments in the midst of this), they said, "Oh, we forgot about it... probably 45 minutes to an hour," (they close at 6pm) effectively giving us a 15 minute window in which they may or may not have our car ready before being forced to leave it there overnight. We had somewhere to be at 5:45, so we left. That evening we called the national Big O Tire customer service line, and the operator was shocked at our story, especially since we had a 9am appointment and were told on multiple occasions that the car was almost ready. She said she would inform the location of our concerns. The next day, I had to get my entire family up and out of the house before the sun rose so I could drop them off at an empty Big O Tire location and wait for it to open so I could get to work at the other end of town on time (this would not have been an issue if we had gotten our car when we were told). When finally getting the car that next morning, my husband explained the situation to them AGAIN and asked, "How are you going to make this right?" Answer: "I can't help you because the manager isn't here." Had to pay in full for the service and didn't receive an apology, nor have we heard from corporate. read more

Was told when they pulled my tires off for tire rotation that I needed new rear brakes on my car at the tune of $600 when I truly didn't. Also never rotated tires tech put tires back on the same way they where when I came in. I had to alert him of this to get tires properly rotated as I took air stem caps off front tires before I went in to make sure they where. Just sad. I will never be back! Big Zero! I made an appointment for 1 pm on a Thursday and took off work to take my truck in. I left it so I could go back to work and when I went in at 4 to pick it up they said it was not done yet. I had someone take me back to work and then pick me up and take me back at 5:50 pm. They still had not changed my oil. We were leaving the next day for a weekend trip, so I ended up changing my oil in the driveway in the dark. I went through the proper channels on their website and told them what happened. No one even bothered to respond. What is the point of setting up an appointment if they are not going to do the job. They could have at least let me know so I could have gone somewhere else. I believe I will call this company BIG MISTAKE I purchased a new set of tire and wanted a front to rear alignment also a transmission flush on a 2015 Chevy Silverado. Left the vehicle at 1:00 got it back at 8:00. Vehicle a greasy mess inside and out. The tire monitoring system was not reset. To top it all off, after having the vehicle back 1 day I notice a bounce/shimmy in the font tires. I spent $1300 and got a mess. Buyer beware. Run the other way. read more
