Former 20-year customer at this Big O Tire location on Bell Road. All that changed with Jason at the helm. Last few years the customer service was falling down fast, but here is the kicker.... THEY DID NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY!!! We bought cars with 60K warranty, after 27K miles, they told us we needed new tires. Jason refused to FILE the claim saying that alignment (which was part of the package and evidently they failed to perform the duty) so he would not submit a claim to the manufacturer. The key is, Jason, despite the god complex, would not be the person to make that determination. The manufacturer would and refusing to help the customer at least file the claim is absurd. No compassion or any sense of social awareness. Instead he was incredibly rude and egotistical, making all about himself, throughout the encounter and would never wish their service on anyone going forward. The manager at this location, like many other posts on Yelp state, is clearly a crook. read more

Jonathan and the manager helped my wife and I with our cars. It was oil change time and we had TPMS sensors changed out as well. They were honest and showed me that a brake line on my front left caliper was leaking, I also had a cracked intake hose that needed to be replaced and they showed me that too. It was just time to have some work done to the cars and they got it all knocked out in a few hours, gave me a ride home while I waited and then picked me up when the work was done. The first time I went there for an oil change when they rotated my tires they broke off two of the stems in the back and only fixed one and wanted to charge me to fix the other one. Today I went in to see if I needed an alignment and they gave me an alignment and my car is driving horribly pulling all over the road I went back. To fix it they took it into the garage and still didn't fix it and then added a charge to the 119 that they said they were gonna charge total. I was there for three hours and my car is worse than before I even went in there. Would not recommend the store. read more

I bought 4 tires and a alignment for 1300.00 dollars not even 4 months later my tires were showing metal and my front end was shot I have had to replace my front tires 2 times . I have a warranty but they did not honor it and tried selling me more tires . They did not care at all I would not trust them to fix my truck at all, it ran fine before I went to them they screwed up my front end and I go through front tires every 2 weeks. read more

My husband and I only take our car here. We've never felt taken advantage by them. We had to get our breaks fixed at the dealership a few months ago while doing other repairs, and when we took it here for an oil change, they said the brakes looked good, so they weren't lying to get us to spend more. It is expensive though (though to be fair I don't know how their costs compare to other mechanics) and every time I take it there for something, I always worry they'll find a bunch of other things (it's like going to the vet). Zero stars. I will never step into a Big O Tires ever again as long as I live, not that they care. I do not care who the local owner is or what the franchise it listed under. I hope you do the same. I have had several issues along the years with several of their locations. I know they are franchised but still they carry a corp name. You would think that since they carry the Big O name the corp office would want to make sure they upheld standards, But I thought and guessed wrong. They seem to hire unqualified mechanics there that can not do basic services and even before the pandemic that made staff so hard to find. In general they have left off parts doing simple things like oil changes, left loose parts/valves, and have very rude workers who snap at customers. One even yelled at me and another customer. Wow! Most recently at this location I brought my car in to have air service. A valve was replaced and not secured correctly in the past and it caused system failure. This is a very basic procedure I was told according to three separate auto professionals with over 65 years total experience with cars. This was verified to be a very simple function that any first day student would know how to do. To make an association as told to me to understand it better, It would be like me as a classroom primary teacher not knowing the basic letter names of the alphabet to teach, say Kinders. One of the outside mechanics even suggested to me that it was done on purpose to make me come back and spend more money since they have a reputation for that. This is shockingly criminal behavior and I was flabbergasted. I guess I am naive as to how they get away with that BS with no consequences. The place refused to fix it for free. That would have been the right thing to do. Yes, even if they were not the owners before. No idea if the same mechanic still works there or not. I tried to wait in the heat of AZ summer to let the new owner make good or at least have the corp office make good on this problem, but to no avail. It would have been easy on their part to fix it. The end result would have made me a screaming good faith champion for their garage bringing in more business. Also, corp could have paid the local shop owner back since fraud is tax deductible on their part. I verified that with a local tax attorney I discussed the issue with. Did Big O do the right thing? Of course not, Nope. They wanted over 2K to fix the car on their mistake. Ummmm, you broke it, you fix it. My car has no air now in AZ. I have medical condition and have passed out in a hot car with no air. I sent a message to the shop to fix for free, no response. I sent a letter to the BBB, no response. I sent a letter to the corp office, no response. Shameful. It is now in a lawyer's hands and i am taking the light rail to work ad staying home all summer. Why all this mess? It would have been cheaper and easier to just fix the darn thing and do the right thing. It is truly baffling. read more

My daughter, who is there for college, had a nail in her tire. We live in Ca. I called this store and spoke with Jason. He said he would take care of her when she got there. He absolutely did. I was getting back tires replaced after one of the tires shredded from going flat. I bought that tire from the same shop and it only had about 200 miles on it. I decided to get new front tires while I was there so they were all the same tread. It only took them about an hour to replace the tires. I don't drive the car much, so when I went to drive it again, one of the front tires was completely flat. Eventually, the other front tire went flat. The back tires were okay. I made an appointment to have them reseal the tires. After sitting for TWO HOURS the manager tells me that they didn't even attempt to reseal them and said I need to get new rims. Claimed they didn't hold air because they were "falling apart." They're Lorinser wheels, so I'm not going to just run out and replace them with my pocket change. I contacted a place that specializes in wheel repairs. Turns out, the geniuses at Big O didn't let the sealant cure long enough. It's supposed to cure before driving on them. Interestingly, the back tire that they didn't seal right before, causing it to shed, is holding air... these are staggered wheels, so it's not possible that they just moved the back tire to the front. They had me wait for TWO HOURS with an appointment, to tell me they didn't even try to reseal the tires and would do nothing to help the situation. If the "rims" were so bad they are falling apart, shouldn't they have said something about it when they mounted new tires? So, more money out of my pocket to have someone else do the job Big O was responsible for doing right the first or even second time. read more

0 stars... I cannot give this experience a 1!! Don't go there!! 9/25/2023 Scheduled an oil change online and it was confirmed for the next day. I arrived before my appt time and went straight to counter. I let the guy working know I had an appt with the Oil change special. He got my keys and got my vehicles info. He said since it has almost 200,000 I need a system flush which would cost me $149. I thanked him but said No my husband just wanted the oil change for his car. He said call him at work to see if he wants it. I let him know I cannot get ahold of him he is an educator not able to pick up his phone. I suggested he write it down and I could let my husband know since it's his car. He said I'll do the test and you will see if this is needed now. I said you can show me but not getting it now. He relented then said with the oil change your going to need a new filter that will be $20. Which the coupon clearly states the filter is included! Then I could not believe he said you don't have to get permission for a $20 air filter from your husband. I was stunned by the disrespect and demeaning attitude but I said No, we don't operate that way.. It also says its included. He relented but when I saw the invoice it said $69 and I said why is that so high? He wanted the conventional oil change and doesn't want the synthetic oil. He then proceeded to berate me and said I shouldn't do that to my engine and that they don't recommend it. I said thanks for the suggestion but he wants the regular oil change. He said if the computer says I need synthetic then I can only service synthetic because they would be responsible if something happened to my engine. ( Lol really?!!) He showed me the computer screen and said you can talk to my manager. I can't do the oil change unless you do synthetic.. we can cancel the appt. I said ok then cancel the appt. And I left! By the reviews on the new management and customer service looks like this was a blessing in disguise!!!!! It's alarming that a young man would feel it appropriate to say what I need to discuss with my husband and what I don't..and the dishonesty of saying they can't do the oil change without synthetic. I'll literally never shop at Big-O tire ever again, but I'm hoping that my review will help someone avoid them before they become victim to their terrible customer service practices. About a year ago I found myself in a predicament involving my 5th wheel toy hauler and needed new tires to continue my camping trip, but I was in Wickenburg, AZ of all places. Unfortunately, there is no Discount Tire in Wickenburg so Big-O was really my only choice. At the time I purchased two tires (due to a blowout) but after my trip I purchased two more so I would have a matched set. All in all I'd say the tires were around $600... Flash forward a year, my family is getting ready to go on a camping trip and I noticed that one of my tires is completely flat, so I call Big-O on Monday morning around 8AM or so and lucky me I got "LJ". LJ was very confused, rushed and short with his sentences on the phone as if he hadn't been properly trained in customer service at all, or maybe just didn't care.. LJ advised that he didn't really know about getting a new tire of the same brand I have, but said he would be able to help me if I brought the tire in on the following Wednesday. When I showed up at the Big-O tire on Bell rd and 62nd Ave in Glendale (store004248) at Noon on Wednesday, I was again lucky enough to get LJ as my customer service guy. I told him that I either needed a repair of my tire or a new tire if he could find one. I actually preferred the repair because he wasn't able to find a matching tire previously when I spoke with him on the phone and I hate it when my tires don't match. Before even looking at the tire LJ went into his script about how they don't like to repair trailer tires because repairs "mess with the speed rating" on the tire. I hadn't heard that, but LJ is supposed to be the expert.. right. Further, LJ continues on to tell me how he was the guy I talked to on the phone on Monday, but now they were too busy to help me. I asked if he had written my number down or made an appointment for me, but was shocked to find out that he had not made an appointment for me when we previously spoke over the phone two days earlier for some reason. After haggling with LJ for a short bit, he finally agreed to take my tire to be fixed (because we found the nail in the tread), but LJ advised that he didn't have time to fix a tire today and that it might be the NEXT DAY or maybe he might be able to get it fixed today.. or maybe not.. or maybe, again very confused??? It literally takes 15 minutes to fix a tire.. how can this be? Especially for a customer who called 3 days in advance, and still Big-O can't find time to help me? I'm thinking that LJ was not happy (perhaps pursuant to corporate policy) that he would not be receiving a commission for simply fixing a tire and as a result treated a customer poorly. I decided to leave my tire and roll the dice based off of LJ's yammering and inability to commit to helping a customer since he seemed to think possibly maybe it might happen in the same day, but called back around 3 hours later for a status update to find that no one knew where my tire even was.. the person who answered the phone advised that I was not in the system at all and that he knew nothing about it. After a bit of a wait LJ came to the phone to again inform me that he wouldn't have time to fix the tire and that he was very busy helping customers. I was a customer, who waited in the line on Wednesday.. after calling the previous Monday, how do I not deserve a minute of customer service and attention? After all this, I advised LJ that I would come pick the tire up and take it somewhere else... LJ literally said "that's fine, we close at 6". As a side note, I looked at my tires and decided that because we are going on a longer trip in June I need to buy new tires again... I like the Goodyear Endurance tires.. a set of 4 will probably cost me around $800, I pay in good old American cash. Wouldn't it have been better if LJ hadn't been my customer service guy.. then Big-O might be in line for some of that money.. but, they're not. read more

But since they changed ownership last year customer service dropped from a 9 to a 3. I don't understand the anger of the front desk, I hate to walk away from a shop that I have been used for so many years to find a different location. Honestly had the best service from jason at big o tires i had called in for a flat tire knowing that they have closed at 4 and jason answered the phone saying that if i can get there as fast as i can he would be able to help me. When i got there he greeted me with a nice welcome and told me that he was able to move me in!! He was super nice especially for it to be on super bowl Sunday he made time for me to get my truck fix! Very disappointed in this store. Took my wife's car in Saturday for a SCHEDULED apt at 12. I dropped it off at 11:15am and they said they would call me when it's all done. I never received a call and waited on hold for 15 minutes before driving down to the store. As I pulled in the car sat in the same spot untouched. I walked in and they didn't have anything to say but they are short staffed. People came and went and my wife's car was untouched. They said I had to wait but they would get it done now. Big O tires was my place for a long time, I trusted them and had fun while waiting for my vehicle. I had many services completed with confidence. That was until May 2024. My car overheated after being in their care for two prior services, not to mention the 100K check and the regular maintenance. I understand my car is older but this was not the normal wear and tear issue. They had my car, gave me a transmission flush, radiator, coolant flush and a few other services. I drove off thinking I was all set, my warranty covered a lot of it. The next day it felt like I was driving on ice, I called and they told me wait a day. Well, I did that and I turned my car on the next morning, it was whining, leaking from the air intake tube and could not get up to speed. I had it looked at by an Acura dealer and it was explained that not only was the job done incorrectly in many ways they used the wrong transmission fluid and overfilled. I had to have all the work redone at my own expense. I called Big O corporate to see what could be done about my warranty because the warranty company wanted me to go back to Big O. I was not going to let further damage happen, so I chose to stay with Acura. I called Big O corporate and was given and tracking number for the call. A few minutes later, the shop called. Not only was I not believed but I was belittled and manipulated, well they tried. I was told that my fluids could not be checked even in a lab so how would the other place not know but may be wrong. Acura said simply, its the wrong color so it stood right out. The person that called had such an ego that all he was worried about was that I betrayed them by calling corporate. All I want is to be whole. I spent a lot of money at Big O and I had to pay again to have the car fixed to the tune of $5000 (some was covered.) I am a single mom and I was out of a car May 24th until July 2nd because the work was so extensive. I was Ubering, wasting money, upset and scared, I need my car. I unfortunately will need to take them to court now which is more time. Shame on Big O for trying to make me think I was the problem when my car was absolutely annihilated. Acura treated me like a human being. This incident caused a landslide of my finances that will have consequences. Again the man that called only offered to look again if I I did him the favor of withdrawing my "complaint" They offered to look again because it was under warranty but how can I trust them. Well have to edit my opinion! This was my go to place for alignments and tires. That changed . Have used this facility for almost two years! Have spend a fair amount of money and always been well taken care of by front counter staff! Last Monday 6-15-20 I walked to new Owners and manger! No big deal! So being clear when this owners took over there first day they put two tires on and charged a price that was not agreed upon! So since they clearly stated they do not want to stand behind there work pricing or tools lost out of my personal service truck! So the services you sold me you will stand behind or refund my money . You can blame the other owner but you are Big O so I think corporate guide lines state of products where purchased at Big O you take care of them and also follow through with just basic business discipline! I recommend any other facility for your needs! I could go on but comes down to you sold me a product and over charged so that was bad business. read more

I went to this store about 6 mos ago for an oil change and the customer service was so good I came back when my other vehicle was leaking oil. I was concerned about a blown head gasket or something equally expensive and was so happy to learn that it was merely a cracked oil filter and the cost of a oil change that was needed anyway would fix it. So when my girlfriend had a short with her car I took it right back and they were able to help me quickly and at a fair price. Unfortunately, I don't know the position of the gentleman that helped me at least the last two times, but his name is Jason and I would recommend asking for him if you need help. He's honest, professional and very personable. When I arrived, Jason the store manager, was working the desk, answering the phones, and working with the mechanics all while taking care of the customers coming in the door as quickly as possible. A customer came in while I was there looking at tires. The customer had some work done and the car broke down. He had to do some work on the car to get it to run so he could bring it in. They said it nullified the work warranty. The main issue I had was the way they treated him and what they said to him as he left. I don't want to repeat it. Then they continued to berate him in front of me and other customers. Very unprofessional. I left and will buy my tires somewhere else. I took my car in for an oil change this past Sunday! I really appreciate Jason and his mechanics for doing an awesome job that was quick but efficient! Jason's mannerisms we're very delightful. He was humorous and respected every customer that came in. Jason is multitasker. While helping customers, he answered phones and was very respectful to those on the other end of the phone!
