Unprofessional staff. Broken/sharp edges on most of the props. Several fake clues with no meaning to them.

My friend and I were in downtown walking, and we passed by the sign at the entrance, and we decided to enter just to ask information about it. We've always wanted to do something like that in the past, but we just wanted information so we could tell our friends. Well, Michael, our host truly convinced us, and my friend and I decided to do pharaoh. We both had never done something like that in the past, so we were really excited and lost at the same time. We had one hour that felt like ten minutes, at the end we could escape. But I will definitely go back to try their other rooms. Again, Michael did an amazing job and he was a great help for the clues. I highly recommend this place. read more

This place is a fraud. DO NOT BOOK HERE. We did the basketball room the first time and it was adequate. We went back the second time and did the Clown room. The clues were missing and parts of the room that were clues were broken. They apologized and told us to leave midway through because we would not be able to solve without any of the clues. They assured us they would refund us and now are refusing to respond to our follow up. We have not gotten a refund. No one responds to our emails. No one answers the phone. DO NOT SPEND ANY MONEY HERE. This place should be investigated. We love escape rooms and have done many. THIS IS THE WORST. No comparison. read more

Very disappointing. The props were all such poor condition that they were hard to read. A prop that was supposed to be screwed onto the wall had fallen off and required us to hold it up. The room ended up being impossible because the staff had reset it wrong and put a clue in the wrong drawer. read more

I was very excited to come here as it was my first time doing anything like this. A group of friends and i arrive @8:10 asking to book a tour We're then told the next available one is at 9 They have 3 different themes for the room. We would be experiencing the outbreak room Few of us were disappointed as we wanted to experience the clown room The trouble arose when one friend paid at the counter and the other one paid through their phone We realized that their was a clown room available at 9:30 We were pretty mad to find out that if we wanted to switch we'd be charged a $30 fee Like really? It's our fault your staff didn't give us options or let us know that their were any.... Well we settled for the 9 o'clock tour Had to go find something to do for an hour Come back and BOOOOOOY The guy that lead our experience could not have been more dry. He seemed new maybe or just not that into it As for prepping the crowd and getting them ready for what was to come next I'd rate him a 3 for effort It's not just me and my friends on this tour mind you We have random ppl in their to So I'd hope he'd be able to get us all engaged and prepared to work together Nope And then were put in a room to kind of figure out what's next We were literally figuring it out as we went along Given a walk-in to ask questions but when you ask they respond with vague answers or just simply back tips I wouldn't be back here as it wasn't all that great Cheap sure but it's in the service read more

WORST ESCAPE ROOM EVER!! THIS PLACE IS A FRAUD!! Extremely unprofessional!! Do not waste your time or money. My family and I have done and loved about 10 escape rooms in the DMV and this place is a literal scam. We did the Outbreak room and all the clues were either broken or missing. There was literally no way to solve the second room because nothing worked. You would spend 10 minutes working on a clue, open it up, and it was empty. We were told it was a "red herring," only to find out later that everything was just broken and the clues were all missing. I don't want to give away clues, but there was an iPad that was supposed to be a clue which was broken, there was a flashlight that was meant to be a clue and that did nothing, and there were boxes that were either broken or completely empty. The guy at the front wasn't following along and when we asked for hints, he couldn't even tell us because he wasn't paying attention. I've tried repeatedly to get my money back and have called at least 15 times and have been told I have to send an email to the manager. I have sent him 3 emails with no response. If you call the silver spring location, you get rerouted to the booking call center, and they can't do anything for you. It's impossible to get anyone on the phone who can help. it's worth noting that I did big escape rooms in Atlanta, which was a lot of fun and we had no issues. This location is just terrible and not maintained. It's fraudulent that they continue to take money from customers despite knowing their room is broken and missing clues. No one go here-it is a total scam!!! read more

We were a party of 9 in the clown room. Overall, it was a fun experience with a few kinks. There was a clue that we had solved but the staff mixed up the combination locks so it set us back a little. They were nice enough to rewind the tape to give us more time but it isn't the same. Once we got to the second room, the same thing happened again but they didn't restart our time. TECHNICALLY we solved it, it just kinda took away from the experience a little. Still so much fun!! I can't wait to go back soon, I hope they double check everything now! read more

The atmosphere is genial, the environment is clean, and the puzzles, riddles, and scenarios are intellectually challenging without being dauntingly impossible; however, although no unusual education is required, good critical thinking skills, both linear and intuitive, are necessary, a healthy imagination, attention to detail, and an appreciation of whimsical cleverness is a definite must. You will have a great time...but, do have fun teammates with you...preferably, those who enjoy your and each other's company, and ideas...at least two, and preferably three to six convivial colleagues, whom you feel will do well, brainstorming under the hour time limit. My coworkers and I came here right after work for a fun, bonding experience, and we definitely bonded! Stuart greeted us and thoroughly explained how the escape room works. Our group did the Clown room which was filled with so many riddles. We used about 4 clues and escaped with just over 6 minutes left! This is a great opportunity to use your brains, get your adrenaline pumping (especially if you don't like clowns like me), and bond with a group of friends. I'd definitely come back for the other rooms-Pharoh and Outbreak-maybe even a fourth room that they're working on! read more

This place was soooo fun! I went here with my best friend as a last minute plan since the pool we were planning to go to was closed and we absolutely enjoyed it. This was my very first escape room and we did the clown one. We had an hour to escape and we made it just on time. This escape you really has you thinking left and right and you're provided with a writing tablet so you can take down any notes. There are no live actors in the rooms with you but there are TVs that have a scene for you to watch before you start and the timer is also there. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try an escape room and I definitely plan to come back here with more friends read more

I have done over 5 escape rooms in 2 different countries. This was one of if not the best escape the room I have ever done. We did the pharaoh room and there was a good amount of puzzles, that were not too difficult but challenging enough to get us thinking and some minor yelling which is always good :). So far, I have done around 5 escapes rooms around the DMV and this is my favorite so far! We chose the "clown" room to escape from and it definitely fit the criteria in the description. Brian was also a great ring leader and was super generous!!! I also appreciated how a timer was provided while you look throughout the room. The only minor downside, was that the volume of the music was a bit too high for me to think properly. What a great experience! Our family decided to do this as a post - Thanksgiving family activity. We chose to do the easiest room, basketball, which actually still took us a decent amount of time to escape. The facility was really nice and the rooms were well put together.
