We went to VR Zone DC for my son's 13th birthday last Friday. We can't wait to go back!! Will at VR Zone was awesome! He helped everyone have a fantastic time. My son and his cousins and his friend had a blast playing the games for 90 minutes. We have been to other VR Arcades in the past, on the west coast and I have to say this one was the best. All us adults can't wait to go without the kids! lol! Perfect place for a date too! Fight Zombies or relax on the beach or take an underwater dive in the ocean and see beautiful jellyfish surrounding you! They had an awesome selection of games and tons of them! It was magical and I literally can't wait to go back. The staff was awesome! Will emailed me later letting us know my niece forgot her eyeglasses there, how awesome is that!? So many people would have just tossed them or not taken the time to email anyone. I was impressed by his patience and professionalism dealing with 3 teens and 1 8 year old who were a bit needy. I would give this experience a 3.5 rating I enjoyed the experience overall, but there were several tech issues during my allotted time - audio wasn't working, headsets weren't fully charged, etc. The person running the experience gave us some extra time to account for the tech issues, but it definitely took away from the enjoyment. The games also don't really have good tutorials when you start them, so it took some time to figure how to properly play most of them. It's about $50 per person for an hour of game time, which seems a bit excessive for what you get. It's a cool experience to try once but not sure I'd do it again for the same price. read more

We did the Dragons Tower escape room on Sunday, 9/7/25. The actual VR experience would've been great, but the venue is completely wide open, with zero sound dampening. There was a kids birthday party there when we first arrived, and the staff member said "oh it will quiet down because the party is almost over." Well, another group was in the spot right next to us, and they literally screamed the entire time they did their experience. We couldn't hear the intro - we just had to read the subtitles. We could barely hear each other to communicate our strategies. That aspect of it was terrible, and clearly ruined the "immersion" that the experience should give. For $160 for 3 people, we deserved a dedicated space without distractions. It was our first VR escape room, and we would do another one for sure, but definitely not at this location. If you luck out and go when nobody else is there, it would be an entirely different experience. But at that price point, definitely not worth the gamble. read more

This was my first time doing VR and going to a VR experience place. And by far the worst experience I've ever had. Me and my date went 2 weeks ago had reserved the time at 9:25 the website instructed us to come 15 minutes early and we did that. First off at night building is hard to find. Literally like a warehouse. We get there and have to wait an hour because there are other people on the VR games. We wanted to do the escape room the workers are asking us which one we want to play and we ask him which escape rooms are there because the website isn't specific enough. The worker doesn't know. Any of them so he takes us to the computer and let's us read the description for all the escape room games. We ended up choosing one but the game ends up being not that good. But the worst part is I couldn't play next to my date. My VR headset couldn't connect to the projector or whatever the thing is called and my date VR headphones wouldn't work. On top of the one hour it took another 30 minutes for the worker to figure what we can do with the VR. This was overall a waste of money,time, and very much stupid. I don't recommend this place. In total I spend $109 I felt like I got rob by this place the gave us 10% off but it's useless to me because I'm never coming back. And you guys should definitely save your time and go somewhere else that is more professional! read more

I took my 8-year-old nephew here on Monday. Paid almost 100.00 for two hours. First, the headset was too big for his head. He complained the entire time because the headset did not fit his head properly. I asked the front desk person and he indicated that this was the only size available. This was sort of disappointing because the headset is the experience that you pay for. Second, the front desk person just seemed to be annoyed every time he had to come over to assist my nephew. Maybe he was tired but he was giving off please little boy leave me alone energy. Now to his defense maybe I am reading him wrong but I can only go by what I observed. I definitely would not come back to his place. I drove 45 minutes to bring my nephew here for one of our regular outings. read more

I bought a groupon for 2 players on groupon and brought my husband here for a birthday activity. We had so much fun. From the website is looks like there are 5 available players for each time slot. We arrived and the person running the show cleaned the headsets in front of us. He explained how everything worked and was there throughout to help explain the games and how to work the controller. We were able to switch games throughout. We played some together and some separately. Neither of us are gamers and it was our first time doing anything VR. We really enjoyed it. I wish there was a little short video of how ridiculous we must have looked fighting Orcs with bows and arrows in a far off land and ducking from their attacks. lol They also have an escape room there. We will patron this business again. It was a jolly good time. read more

If it's your first time and you have a group, I suggest booking 1.5 hours. We only did 1 hour and they started the clock as soon as they started helping us get setup (putting our headset on, explaining the rules, etc.) so when we actually got started we only had 45min. There was also no explanation of the games and the staff was not very attentive, which again ate into our 'play' time. However, with all that being said, the concept is very unique and fun for groups. We had a blast once we were all in the game and understood how to play. Now that we know how to get ourselves setup and know how to enter/play the games we'd be able to use the hour to its fullest. We would definitely go back, which is why I give it 4 stars. Net, net: the concept is awesome, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired for first timers (unless you are well versed in VR/video games, then you'd probably have a much quicker learning curve). read more

I went to the VR Zone DC for the first time on a Friday with two of my friends. All three of us were able to play in the same VR game together in Data Breach, Arizona Sunshine, and Elven Assassin. Finding multiplayer/co-op VR games are RARE in the D.M.V. now so the VR Zone DC spot is a great find! We had SO MUCH fun! Arizona Sunshine allows a maximum of 4 people in 'horde mode'. Data Breach allows no more than 3 players, but on the 2-player mode, you can do more game levels. Our host Alex was very accommodating, friendly and a great help getting us setup in the same game. When there was a tiny server issue with Data Breach, he was able to figure it out, debug and resolve the issue for all of 3 of us to play in the same game. He was very professional to give us more gameplay time to make up for it. Overall, I would recommend this spot if you want a gaming session 2-4 friends or family. It's a nice and chill basement spot across near several food places so it's convenient. read more

VR Arena hosted our sons' 12th birthday party last week and the experience was even better than expected. We had a large group so the entire space was dedicated to the party for a solid two hours. Setting up the party was also incredibly easy and the staff helping our group was supportive and really present. We went to the VR Zone Rockville for a birthday celebration. It wasn't what I expected for $50 plus dollars. First, I was told it was a warehouse location so I'm thinking this place must be big. NOPE it's a small building. Next, we got started playing the game and couldn't enjoy the full effect of it because their headsets kept breaking and having technical issues. When we finally did play the gaming was good. They didn't give us more time due to their headset problems which was a bummer. Overall, it was ok but not worth the money. read more

This place was, unfortunately, very disappointing. There were 4 main problems: 1) Constant technical problems for the entire 2 hours. I brought 3 friends with me who were visiting from out of town and we booked 2 headsets for 2 hours. The first game we played was co-op and I could hear my friend speak into my headset but he couldn't hear me speak into his, so he had no idea what I was saying. After that first game, for most of the rest of the 2 hours the game audio in both headsets didn't work at all. Either completely silent or so quiet that I'd have to press my ears hard against the headset to make out what characters were saying, which ruined a lot of the experiences which relied on music, narratives, and ambient sounds to achieve immersion. Staff was largely unable to help and seemed annoyed when I asked. The games also froze up several times, or we'd get stuck in games with no clear way to get back to the main menu. This brings me to problem 2. 2) The staff was super unfriendly and unhelpful. I rarely complain about customer service because I've worked retail jobs and I know how exhausting they are. I don't usually care about customer service as long as the product/experience is good. There were two guys running this place and they were aggressively unhelpful. I swear to god, when we were having technical problems I'd have to go search to find them, and then they'd basically shrug and say "I don't know man. I didn't do it." They'd tinker around a little with the settings on their computers to varying degrees of success. It was a baffling experience. Keep in mind, we're paying $50 an hour per person, so with taxes about $220 for just 2 hours. I don't mind spending that kind of money, but for that price the 2 hours should be pretty flawless. Be forewarned, they won't extend your time by a single minute, even if half of your time is wasted on their technical problems. 3) The VR Arcade area either needs to be more spaced out OR they need physical barriers between players. I've been to other VR barcades and they'd put curtains in between players to prevent them from running into each other, with several feet of space on either side. It was RIDICULOUS how close together players at this place are. I was watching my friend playing and a new group came in and took the VR headset next to him, and they came EXTREMELY close to hitting each other multiple times. There are no barriers and at various points they were within 2 feet of each other. They advertise that the VR headsets are all 8 feet apart, and that may technically be true based on small dots they marked on the floor, but 1) they looked like less than 8 feet, and 2) people move when they do VR. You have to account for that. 4) The games/experiences they advertise having on their website are NOT what they actually have. At this very moment they advertise Beat Saber on their website. When we got there they told me they don't have Beat Saber. Pretty basic problem. In fact, their game/experience library overall was pretty shallow. Overall I definitely wouldn't come to this place again. I'm hoping a different VR barcade opens again in the city at some point. There was one I used to go to in DC that was great, but it closed during COVID. read more

This is SO MUCH FUN!!! My friend and I did the Assasin's Creed Pyramid escape room and it was amazing! Since we finished quickly, we played an elf shooting game which was also so much fun!! Definitely recommend!! Can't wait to do it again! read more

This VR Zone is great! Our children's ages range from 16-11yrs. and they hosted games appropriate for each of their ages and even had a platform that allowed them all to play together too. I definitely recommend this place for all age groups. Our VR Master was extremely helpful and patient and our children had a blast! read more
