Round House Theatre - Bethesda…read more This was my first visit to Round House Theatre in Bethesda, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. As someone who is still a novice when it comes to the many forms of live theatre available in our area, I found the evening entertaining, educational, and thoroughly enjoyable. Round House is a nonprofit theatre company, and my friend--who is much more involved in the local theatre scene--was able to purchase specially priced tickets through a program that made the performance incredibly affordable. It's nice to see organizations finding creative ways to make live theatre accessible. Parking is available in several nearby paid garages, all within a short walk of the theatre. I didn't notice whether street parking was available. The performance we attended was Adrift, presented by Happenstance Theatre. The intimate, in-the-round stage creates an engaging atmosphere, and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Being so close to the performers made the experience feel much more immersive. One unexpected highlight was chatting with a fellow theatre patron who spent the time before the show working on an intricate handcrafted project that was a work of art in itself. The production was unlike the traditional plays I was expecting, which made it even more enjoyable. The live music was excellent, and the performers had incredible voices that brought the entire production to life. To end the evening, we walked across the street to Andy's Pizza in Bethesda. The lively atmosphere, upstairs seating, and delicious pizza--available by the slice or as a whole pie--made for the perfect post-show meal. Overall, it was a wonderful night out. Great theatre, talented performers, and excellent pizza made for an evening I would happily recommend.

For being a tiny community black-box theater, I was pleasantly surprised. The venue itself has been well-kept, and while the accommodations were a little on the sparse side, it really didn't detract from the show. And speaking of, the show was high-quality, too! Overall, it was a great, fun night out supporting the local community!

Let's go! I was sad when the Columbia location closed down, but Gaithersburg is still rocking and I think this arena is far more interesting than the Columbia one. The arena is the right level of dark with fog machines running too. There are several platforms with various access ramps. My favorite details is that a few platforms have a grate where players can shoot down at others below (watch out, they can shoot up at you too!). There are always rapid fire and mega power Gems for upgrades and a third that rotates by game (invisibility, invulnerability, dark thief), so definitely sign up for 3 games if you can to experience the full rotation. The prices are reasonable, especially in today's economy. There is a water cooler to refresh yourself between games, because you will work up a sweat between the crouching and quick moving around while wearing a phaser pack. It's our favorite workout, to be honest. There is an arcade with a variety of games, including prize games, driving games, and shooting games. The main area also has concessions to snack on. Overall, if you want some workout and fun, check out Shadowland.

Got my tickets off of goldstar for "free" but really had to pay $5 processing fee. The theatre is cozy and clean. The patrons are polite, friendly, and older. Get cookies, coffee, and other refreshments before a show for a donation of your choice.

Here is what you need to know: + Garage parking is free on Sundays + Tickets are sent electronically along with a helpful email and storybook pdf that helps prepare young children on what to expect when they go to the theatre + The theatre is truly intimate -- there is not a bad seat in the house (Trust me -- we were last row, on the side of the stage and still had a great view!) + Children's shows can be quite corny and cut corners when it terms to production value but not at Imagination Stage. I was really impressed by the quality of acting and the set of "Dory Fantasmagory." + They offer lots of free programming such as "Meet the Cast", family yoga, and a children's fashion show to go with the play. I went with a group of children ages 4 - 11 and they had everyone entertained. Seeing everyone's faces light up and laughing out loud has truly filled my cup of cuteness for the entire week. If you've never seen a Flying V Theatre performance you are seriously missing out!…read more We asked Flying V to come out to a fundraiser event we hosted to do a short Saturday morning cartoon performance. They performed the first episode of Pokemon, and it was a HIT. This fundraiser was a carnival with several games and activities however Flying V effortlessly stole the show! Kids and parents alike were captivated by their performance! We couldn't be more pleased to have had them come out and perform. The Flying V mission is great and overall what they are doing is true ingenuity and something everyone can get behind. I appreciated all the actors who came out to support our event and, like Flying V would say "Be Awesome!"

Lines deep and everywhere, so you needed your patience. However, they did away with tickets from the previous year (smart move). The BBQ spot ran out of food - I wanted to try them. I didn't get to try all the ciders, but that is okay as I still had fun. Met a few folks as always. The performers were cool. Loved that they had four food vendors this year. In addition, some vendors had extra things like cookies, apple cider donuts, and kettle corn popcorn to name a few. I would give this experience a 3.5 rating…read more I enjoyed the experience overall, but there were several tech issues during my allotted time - audio wasn't working, headsets weren't fully charged, etc. The person running the experience gave us some extra time to account for the tech issues, but it definitely took away from the enjoyment. The games also don't really have good tutorials when you start them, so it took some time to figure how to properly play most of them. It's about $50 per person for an hour of game time, which seems a bit excessive for what you get. It's a cool experience to try once but not sure I'd do it again for the same price.
