I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

Well thanks for the lecture Einstein! We were also promised that the chicks would be layers of medium or larger brown eggs. They gave us a Polish chicken that lays white eggs. Don't worry she will be a much loved pet. The cost of the class, the four chicks a bag of feed and the cheapest temu feeder. Over $400!

Both can take a while. If you're there with two people, I would split up here. Finding seating is the next problem as it rained during this time. But it cleared up and most people took it to go. The live music was loud, but you wanted that because of how many people were there and talking. They do serve alcohol on premises and they had a "Bar" corner. And there's a large area/section towards the back where there are pastries and other goodies to buy like Greek pasta, candy, coffee bags, etc. Even though the lines can seem long, they actually do move pretty quick. There was also pistachio ice cream this year with the Greek sour cherry spread on top reminiscent of what I'd enjoy when I travel to Greece. The parking lot does tend to fill up pretty quick so folks can do street parking, and they have volunteered directing crowds as well.

It's pretty tiny but somehow we ended up spending about 4 hours here, mostly because of my kids. There is a small indoor portion in the church, where there are various vendors mostly selling women's jewelry. That is about 80% of the vendors at least when I visited in 2025. There was a stand selling great olive oil and olives (both of which I purchase) and a stand selling the delicious Greek desserts I basically ate every day while I lived in Astoria, Queens (one of the largest Greek communities in the US). The ladies at the bakery were so friendly, even offering my son a cookie for free (and of course he takes the entire box!). Outside, there is another bakery (with about 4 times the size of the line), and other food stalls. We got a lamb gyro with tzatziki and it was out of this world. There is a tent with music, where some people were dancing and an occasional singer or band would rotate in and out. Also in the tent was a drink vendor where my partner and I enjoyed a glass of white wine on a very hot day. The kids were drawn to the bouncy houses, which included some traditional ones and a blow up slide. It cost $10 per child for use all day. They certainly got their money's worth! There was a sign for face painting and pony rides but I did not see either and the ladies working the desk didn't know when or if they'd actually show up. Overall, a very relaxing spot. Don't expect a huge festival but a relaxed afternoon out or evening. There is also a lovely flower vendor that is a nice place to wander or buy flowers for the spring.

The team at ChildTime Magic gave very clear direction on the amount of space needed, and any other details to assist with making the performance run smoothly. From the beginning of the performance through the very end Louis the Magician had the kids' (and adults') attention. His routine has the kids engaged, and actively participating throughout. Our normally shy 5-year old birthday girl was super excited to give Louis a hand as his assistant with one of the tricks. We arrived just as the close-up magic was starting and we were not disappointed. We moved between three different rooms, enjoying a different type of magic in each parlor. No two acts were the same - and I suspect this was intentional - to vary the type of magic in each room so as to let us see a little of everything. Then we were invited to head into the dining room to serve ourselves buffet style. The spinach salad was delicious, the chicken and vegetables were outstanding. And the desserts . . . the apple pie squares were heavenly. The price included an open bar which was nice, allowing us to have a nice glass of wine with dinner. Water and soda was also available and, because I was driving, I drank Diet Coke for the rest of the evening. And then came the magic. Eric Henning was amazing - as always. I've seen him perform on several other locations in and around Washington and Baltimore, and I'll always attend his shows when given the chance and time allows. Eric's forte is some of the classics - the ropes, the rings, etc., a true gentleman who harkens back to the classic magicians of yesteryear. John McLauglin was impeccable. Knowing this man's "regular" job as provided in the introduction made me wonder how in the world he had time to become so good with magic - but he did! He performed some parlor magic during appetizers, then stole the show when he got up on stage. He took someone's $100 bill, had them sign it, then made it vanish. Shortly after, he removed his shoe, pulled a lemon from it, cut it open, and inside was the spectator's signed bill. Gasps! David Morey did an amazing routine where he passed out 60 different magazine pages, had each attendee call out a page number, and then he told everyone what was on that page . . . from memory! Incredible! My wife and I don't get as many "date" nights as we would like, so when we do, we seek to find something special. This was definitely special and we will definitely return for another show! And what's really special is that the next time we go will be a different crop of magicians - ensuring that no two shows are ever the same. I'd give this 10 stars if the ratings went that high!
