This is as far as I could go.

Knowing that it was not really a class with an instructor and that the materials could run out so you might not be able to finish your piece. Total waste of money and time.

Hammer and Stain is an awesome place to bring your kids for family fun and for a work outing to build comradary. Michelle runs a great shop and helps you build the best piece of art you can imagine. Book an appointment today!

Clean and simple.

My alumnae group decided to add this to our calendar. The process for registration was very easy. I just wanted the simple word, Serenity, which was not listed. I contacted the shop via email. I received a response from the owner, Robyn, very professional, pleasant, accommodating, and complete instruction of how to register. At the beginning of the event, they explained the steps in detail. All supplies were at all of the tables already. The only thing you need to get is your pick of paint/stain. There were plenty of room to work. There were 8 of us, and they were able to place all of us at the same table. You can bring snacks to share. They do sell beverages, water, and chips. Overall a wonderful. I am very happy with my sign.

Check out my new pillowcase!!!

Absolutely love this place!!! I am so glad that it is in Rockville Town Square because it is a creative place to go, you can personalize your work, and you can take it home all in the same day!!! There are other creative places in the area but few that you can make and take your work home with you the same night. And Robin is a whirlwind of a woman - she gets so much done and she does it all herself (with the help of her husband who cuts all the wood) but inside operations are all her and she does a phenomenal job! She is super accommodating, super spunky, and super nice!!! I have been there quite a few times now and recommend it to others often! Plus she serves beer and wine, I mean, come on!!! If you're in the neighborhood or in need of personalized stuff.m or just want something fun to do...check out their Facebook page or website to find out what's going on!

The October born members in the chapter of my sorority picked a sisterhood activity at Hammer and Stain. The icing on the cake was that this is a Black Women Owned business. The customer service was superb. Prior to our arrival, they curated designs that we could pick from that catered to our sorority or we could pick from the designs they already had in the shop. We also were able to bring our own food. If you are looking for a place to host a birthday party or any group activity, this is a perfect option.

Robyn is the best! I wanted to come in and just make a simple sign, all by myself. I messaged her what I wanted it to say and we worked out the details via email. If you have an idea - odds are Robyn can help you accomplish it. The first time I came in on a weeknight. Everything was ready for me to go for it. The staff gave me directions and then pointed out if I need a refresher they were also on the wall. I sat with another group - since it was mid week and had a blast with them. I love my sign - and it is truly the motto of my kitchen "If I stirred it, it's homemade!" I came back a second time with my mom and had a blast. Again I had worked with Robin to create a special project for me - creating a unique sign for our game room. Seriously Robyn and her team are the best... Cannot wait for my next visit

My son and his cousins and his friend had a blast playing the games for 90 minutes. We have been to other VR Arcades in the past, on the west coast and I have to say this one was the best. All us adults can't wait to go without the kids! lol! Perfect place for a date too! Fight Zombies or relax on the beach or take an underwater dive in the ocean and see beautiful jellyfish surrounding you! They had an awesome selection of games and tons of them! It was magical and I literally can't wait to go back. The staff was awesome! Will emailed me later letting us know my niece forgot her eyeglasses there, how awesome is that!? So many people would have just tossed them or not taken the time to email anyone. I was impressed by his patience and professionalism dealing with 3 teens and 1 8 year old who were a bit needy. They have escape rooms too and one was a Stranger Things Themed room! It was awesome!! Go to VR Zone if you want a cool, unique experience.

I would give this experience a 3.5 rating…read more I enjoyed the experience overall, but there were several tech issues during my allotted time - audio wasn't working, headsets weren't fully charged, etc. The person running the experience gave us some extra time to account for the tech issues, but it definitely took away from the enjoyment. The games also don't really have good tutorials when you start them, so it took some time to figure how to properly play most of them. It's about $50 per person for an hour of game time, which seems a bit excessive for what you get. It's a cool experience to try once but not sure I'd do it again for the same price.

We were greeted by 3 staff members (apologies I don't remember their names). I initially thought this was just a venue to smash stuff but it was explained that this is a mental health venture aimed at spiritual healing. After signing the waivers and donning our PPE, we went in. The wooden structure isn't huge so you cant get running starts or make any long over hear arm movements, but it ended being just the right amount of space to get your smash on. Initially I was caught up in the novelty of smashing things, but a point in time came where that novelty faded and I found myself tapping into an aggression and emotion I did not go there with. It wasn't until I stood there out of breath with my hands sore that I truly understood what this place was for. That session provided a space and avenue for me to truly let go, for just a little bit. If you haven't done that recently (or ever), you need to book a session to understand what im talking about. A challenge was issued to me to put in work on the water heater and I made a decent hole in it but that thing was tough. They sure don't make em like they used to.

Great experience at Remix Rage Smash Room. I visited a few weeks ago based on a Groupon that I had…read more The staff was extremely helpful in organizing my session and preparing for my appointment. The site was well furnished with safety gear (goggles, gloves, etc.), tools (bats, sledgehammers, etc.) and objects to smash (microwave oven, water heater, glass bottles, etc.). It was stress relieving and fun with the opportunity to damage and destroy inanimate objects in a normally civilized world. I definitely recommend if in the DMV area.

It's pretty funny, because here I was thinking that a scavenger hunt is a competition in which you try to be the first to finish and to have all the answers right. I don't know why I thought that, I guess I was just inane enough to look to Wikipedia, THE LARGEST ASSEMBLY OF INFORMATION IN HUMAN HISTORY, for the rules. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scavenger_hunt Anyway, my team finished first and got everything right, then lost on a tiebreaker question to some dweeb virgins who finished 10 minutes after us. It was a tremendous miscarriage of justice that I find deeply upsetting. Besides that, though, I thought the scavenger hunt was done quite well and was a fun way to spend an afternoon. The guy who wrangled all the nerds before and after the event was also quite good at his job. I'd highly recommend this scavenger hunt to anyone who is willing to suspend their respect for the sanctity of traditional scavenger hunt rules.

I'd recommend these for locals rather than first-time tourists since when you're rushing around from clue to clue you don't have a lot of time just to browse the museum. I haven't won a hunt yet, but they're so much fun I don't really care. It's a great way to learn things about the museum you never would've found out otherwise. Wear comfortable shoes as you'll be doing a lot of walking and use common sense with your clothing if you're doing an outdoor hunt. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is it can get a little pricey if you're buying a bunch of tickets for a big team. Tickets are cheaper for the family hunts, but you must have children with you
