This past weekend I participated in a private hunt with Scavenger Hunt DC as part of a bachelorette…read moreparty and it was awesome! Pricing was also very reasonable for our party of 9. We all downloaded the app used for the hunt prior to arrival and brought back-up phone chargers (great idea!). It was arranged for us to meet with our guide (Aaron) in one of the museums on the national mall. Once there, he took a picture of our group and we split into teams. Each team elected a captain and Aaron gave us instructions (e.g. no cheating, teams must stay together, etc.). The hunt is entirely picture based, so instead of one clue leading to another, the goal is to take pictures of as many items on the list as possible. There were over 200 items and 2 hours for the hunt, so it would have been impossible to get them all, which kept the hunt exciting. The required pictures were a mix of items (e.g. something purple, or a particular statue in a museum) and activities (take a picture of a team member sitting on a picnic blanket with strangers). A fun bonus, Aaron sent out a few time-sensitive challenges throughout the game. Meaning, the team to complete the challenge and send him a picture first would be awarded 250 points and the second team would lose 100 points. This definitely kept us on our toes! The app also allowed teams to check in on the progress of the rival team and see their pictures/points. At the end of the two hours, both teams reconvened at the same museum where we started. Aaron met us and asked us questions about some of our more impressive (high point value) photos. He also tallied the points and announced the winning team. Aaron was professional, explained everything thoroughly, and had a good sense of humor. The next day, he emailed us a link to a google drive folder of pictures and each was individually named for the clue that was captured in the picture. All in all, we had a great time and I would definitely recommend this company or book with them in the future!

We had lunch following our hunt and throughout lunch people were talking about the event. After lunch we did a hunt at the Spy Museum, which was horrible compared to the one we did in the morning with this group. I highly recommend any group looking for something fun to do as a group book a hunt. Aaron was our guide. He was awesome before, during, and after the event. He also was able to answer all our questions before arriving in DC.

Like why is there an entire dining room but it's just a dining room table and chairs with a vase glued in the middle? Many of the cute props are glued into place (which I totally understand, but again there isn't much to interact with!) There were 2-3 areas that really had stuff to do so all the kids congregated there at the same time making it pretty overstimulating. Not to mention so many parents were there clearly filming TikTok content, making their kids do the same thing over and over, and getting annoyed when kids would come into the same area wanting to play. Our experience started 15 minutes late, which for a 2 year old does make a difference. They have you play in the house for an hour before you have the opportunity to meet bluey and bingo, again I think it would be better if there was a little bit of flexibility here because my kiddo was so tired by the time an hour was up. We skipped meeting the characters because she was just done, and although not Camp's fault, it does continue to cheapen the experience for me. Overall it reminded me of walking through the houses at toon town in Disney from the early 00s but with a big ticket price attached to it and not much else. I do think this is much better suited for 3-6 year olds, however many of my points still stand.

It's like Amazing Race, Indiana Jones, National Treasure and the Goonies all rolled up into one ball of awesome! They have a kiosk in Union Station where you can walk up and purchase one of their many adventures - part scavenger hunt, part walking tour, part pirate adventure. It's a fun new twist on tourism, and is great for anyone who likes a good puzzle to accompany their museum/tourist day. They also offer daily treasure hunts at 2:00pm as well as a do-it-yourself Black Skull package. The hunt is like doing the Amazing Race on the mall! And the Union Station adventure is great for parents and kids. Best of all, they will MAKE YOU YOUR OWN ADVENTURE. I want one to take my niece on a tour of the zoo, and they say they're working on ones for the Smithsonians. It's gonna make every fundraiser and birthday party I do from here out Way more interesting. I hope thy stick around DC, because its the coolest way to be a tourist (or host family/friend tourists) I've seen yet. I give it 4 stars because I want more! They're just starting out, and I can't wait to be impressed.

He had spinach and cheese empanadas nearly ready for us when we arrived and after not too long, we all were ready to get the cooking started. We were either gathered around the kitchen island helping Chef Gustavo chop, peel or mix, seated at the long dinner table or hanging out on the patio outside. It was such a great mix of relaxing, sipping wine and getting our hands dirty and cooking a bit. He shared lots of cooking tips and tricks and made the entire night feel so casual, fun and intimate. We've all taken at least cooking class but this was more like being invited over for a friends dinner party. The paella came out SO incredibly. Packed with seafood (which we learned is actually not the traditional way to serve paella. Usually it is just a piece or two of protein and the rice is the star of the meal). So much flavor I could have had a million servings. It was delicious. For desert, Chef made dulce de leche crepes and I didn't think I had room before but I absolutely enjoyed at least two of these. I loved being a part of this awesome night and would definitely recommend a Cozymeal with Chef Gustavo!
