What an experience!! Today was my first time at Sandbox and I had such a great time. We chose the deadwood valley theme. I was mind blown. I'm not new to VR but the optics were awesome. Without giving too much info away if you choose the deadwood valley theme you will have all type of things coming at you. It was a great shooting game. One thing that could be improved would be the customer service. Once we walked in we did not know what to do or where to go. We had to search around for someone to help us. Also, the staff wasn't great at explaining the instructions. Think he assumed that we knew what to do. However, it was a great experience. VR experience was awesome. The family and friends came out 6 deep and we selected Deadwood Phobia, the best seller and I can see why! This was my second time here over a year ago and I did the previous Deadwood, which is filled with zombies and other strange creatures. The graphics are crisp and pretty realistic, to get you hopping around, panting, and sweating. Just like any video game you move from a new level to the next level, which comes with a change of scenery. We went from a creepy lab, a meatpacking conveyor belt, to boots on the ground fighting in a zombie war zone! So much fun with many more surprises and features I'll let you discover for yourself. I felt it was long enough towards the end, I start hoping the goblins would stop coming. Perfect amount of time. They give you a keepsake video which is edited with everyone's gamer names, a recap of the scores, highlights, and who your team's MVP is! Great for bragging and talking ish over dinner after the game is over. It is pricey about $65 per person, but it's not something you'll do every weekend. It truly is a unique experience, because this is the only chain in the DMV. The staff is polite and do a great job of explaining the rules and how to wear the equipment. Definitely arrive 15 minutes early, especially if you've never played the game before. Overall a fun experience! We chose the dinosaur experience which is a good option for younger or more sensitive children. Our session started on time. It wasn't too crowded when we went. Our family was looking for a fun activities we could do and Sandbox VR was a great choice! We arrived ready to play and chose Rebel Moon! It was 15 minutes of fighting bad guys and monsters! There were four of us signed up so we had two random guests join us. I loved how we were able to get three videos of us playing even with the "Netflix" opener and music. Nice concept, game room was spacious enough for party of 5. Game tech was very helpful and did a great job of helping us celebrate the kid's birthday. The game was indeed intense and you 100% will be SWEATY headed home! It's quite the workout, but truly was a good time. I'd visit again. Hopefully they'll have cleaned their water fountains by the next visit, they were gross but u NEEDED water. I know to bring my own next time. My concern was hygiene and equipment cleanliness. One of the members of our party complained that she could SMELL her VR headset/mask. The vests seemed a little worn and for as sweaty as I was, I'm sure some if that soaked into the vest...and how many others before me?? The adjustable head straps were cloth, I believe. Just knowing what can "last"/linger in certain material made me concerned about the cleanliness of my hair when leaving. I feel there should be some type of protective barrier given to guest for the headset contacts, ESPECIALLY the face!! I had sweat POURING down my forehead, sides of my nose, etc. I'm not sure what the exact sanitizing method is, but I can't imagine it being enough for that type of activity. Also, the game we played was very "glitchy" and at one point we had to pause to correct a petty member's experience; she couldn't see anything in the game. We didn't have any problems signing up online or picking a time slot. We parked nearby and we've done a sandbox vr in Vegas before so we knew the ins and outs mostly. There was only one attendant and a lot of people so it took a little bit to get everyone situated. The only issue I really ran into is during the experience, I disconnected 3 to 4 times and my husband also got disconnected a couple times. Overall a fun experience though. read more

I went in a group of six on a Friday night. No wait time, we got setup immediately. It was a unite and exciting experience! We had to pause the game about 5 times due to technical difficulties. That was the only downside. I think the product owners need to continue flushing out the bugs. When the game paused I was able to truly appreciate the graphical detail!!!! I could see all the way in the back of the zombies mouths! It would be cool if they made a VR museum out of this. My friend's controller went completely unresponsive so all he had was a chain saw which took away from the fun. All in all it was a great experience and I recommend it! read more

Had an awesome experience here for my sister's birthday! We got in about 15 minutes early for our timeslot on a Friday during the day. One big party ahead of us went into the Squid Game experience and sounded like they were having a blast. We filled out the waiver and were taken to our experience room within 5 minutes. Our attendant was very helpful and explained everything well. The immersive game --Deadwood Valley-- was pretty intense and a lot of fun! Felt like you were in Left For Dead/ Halo. I liked that it switched to different areas and had "missions" to complete. Best part was that we got copies of our video in the experience to share with family and friends! Update! Went back for another experience - Deadwood Mansion. There were 3 in my party, and we were able to get started at our scheduled time. Unfortunately, that was the only positive part. Our experience was filled with technically difficulties. The live capturing was down, so there would be no video to take with us, once again. Also, the weapons were messing up. There wasn't enough employees there to resolve the technically difficulties seamlessly. At one point, we were asking for the game to be paused and no one helped. The person who got us setup was working with another group, so I ended removing my own helmet to stand out in the hallway to stop someone. Honestly, this is such a big let down. Guess I should've learned my lesson from my first trip to this location in Tysons Corner, VA read more

Fun activity for all ages! The immersive gaming system really allows you to have a full experience and get into the game you are playing. We choose the zombie game and I love how it had a story line and did not stay in one location for the duration of our game play. We booked a "party room" but their version of a party room is a table in the middle of the hallway, as people walk through your event. Then our booking didn't start until 40 minutes after our reservation. I understand other groups running long, but there's not even a front desk to talk to anyone when you walk in the front door. Unfortunately, I had to refund for the second game due to lack of organization and order for everyone who placed their games in advanced. I hope this company work on logistics and scheduling. This place is unprofessional and wack. Our reservation was at 1015 and it's 1103 currently and no service has been performed. They are apparently behind but how if you have a reservation system? I would def come back and do it again. It was fun, exciting and interactive. We requested adults only and got kids. That was the downside.

Quick recap: experience could be cool, but overbooking, terrible management, employees not knowing what's going on Made 4 reservations in person with an employee for a group of 12 people. Employee messed up on 2/4 bookings for putting them on wrong dates and times. When we got there our first games were at 4:55pm, didn't get to first game til 6pm for one group and second group til 6:30pm in which 2 of the players were experiencing lag and had to be removed and couldn't play. There solution to all their problems seems to be "we'll get you a refund". read more

I went to the one in Atlanta and had an amazing time so I wanted to try the one here with my husband for one of our date nights. Before we booked we checked the latest time as it is an hour drive for us and we also was going grab some dinner and drinks to just hang out. Once we are in the area about 930 we check times again and decide to go with a 10 booking for the night. We find parking and sr paying for it as I notice I have 3 missed call from a 571 number so I call them back and it's this location. I am then told that they were canceling all reservations for the night because it was a leak upstairs and they would have to rebook my reservation for another day and time. No sir because this is an hour for us and with kids we aren't sure how our schedules will play out so I asked about a refund and was told he couldn't authorize the refund because he wasn't a manager, since we are across the street I asked could we walk in and talk to a manager. I was told due to the leak the managers are working from home, so it seems you knew you would be canceling peoples reservations so why even allow them to book, that's neither here or there and in slightly very irritated. I was told something would be sent to the manager and a refund would be issued. So today about 1145 I get an email thinking me for my booking and I immediately called the number to inquire about my refund and was told nothing was put into the notes section about me getting a refund and so the agent couldn't authorize it until she spoke with the location. Now I'm extremely irritated because why am I following up and no one is even trying to follow up with me. The customer service agent was nice and helpful and while I was writing this post she called to let me know my refund would be issued which is why they are even getting this one star and that's the lowest I could give anyway. read more
