My family and I had a great time celebrating my birthday at great big game show! We didn't really know what to expect as first timers, but we were thrilled and excited, we would definitely go back and do it again. It's a great experience for any game-oriented, competitive family or friend groups. It's about an hour long, which was perfect - not too long and not too short. You can sign up with any group size under 14 people, you are split into two teams of 7 upon arrival. Reggie was an awesome host, we were laughing nearly the whole time.

We decided to check out Great Big game show on a whim and had a blast! They have an array of different games you can play. -The original game show : which is a series of mini games that includes some trivia and brain games -The trivia game show: a bunch of random trivia games -Escape room: they have a few different escape rooms you can choose from In addition to the games they also have a bar area which is great for hanging out pre or post game show. Overall I really enjoyed this experience and would recommend it to others.

A wildly fun and unique experience--we'll be back! We had an amazing time at the Great Big Game Show DC! Our host was fun, engaging, and kept the energy high throughout the game. The format was super unique--like stepping into a live-action game show--and the questions struck a great balance between challenging and entertaining. We loved that they had a small bar on site. Even though they were out of Prosecco and a few other items, the staff was friendly and flexible, and we were able to bring our drinks into the game, which added to the fun. We had such a great time that we're already planning to come back with a big group of friends. It's the perfect spot for something different, interactive, and full of laughs. Highly recommend for anyone looking to shake up their night out!

Great experience from beginning to end. The staff and game host were friendly and knowledgeable. It was me and my families first time and every instruction given was clear and concise which led to a great, fun, entertaining overall experience.

Looking for a team building activity? Well, this is the place! Nathan, our host, was AMAZING! And he kept the energy in the room alive. At the conclusion of the event, our team left in laughter and great spirits! Definitely worth every moment!

I want to go back already. The staff were personable and helpful! They checked us in and made sure our waivers were signed. We were escorted to the game room and self selected into two teams. The games were fun and engaging. There was several rounds of games, including trivia, a wheel of Fortune-esque ask game, assembly, first-person shooter games. Each round teams compete for points. I got to live out my dream of being on a game show I shall be back!

My family and I came here, and what a fantastic time we had! The room holds up to 14 guests, we only had ten, so three of my family members were placed on the opposite team. We did the show that includes a little bit of everything, from trivia questions to hands-on games and activities, all while competing against the other team. This is the only location that has a bar and serves alcoholic drinks. I will most definitely come back and highly recommend this place for team-building activities as well.

Drinks are decently priced!

I saw this on Instagram and got my family to join in, making a group of seven. The game accommodates up to 14 players total. It's best to have either a full team of seven or fill the entire room with 14 players. My family is very competitive, so we were excited to jump in. The lobby area is spacious and fun. If you arrive early, there are plenty of places to sit, play board games, and even grab a drink. The small bar area is really cute, with a decent selection of beverages--and, surprisingly, the prices aren't outrageous. I was shocked to find a $5 beer in Georgetown! After signing our waivers, we hung out for a bit until our entire group and the opposing team arrived. Once everyone was ready, we were ushered into a small room. Our team of seven took the Red side, while the Blue team consisted of a small family, a couple, and a solo player. Our game show host, Dream, was fantastic! She was incredibly engaging, genuinely felt like a real game show host, and made the experience even more fun. The event was also very accommodating for kids, which was great since my niece and nephew (ages 5 and 8) joined us. The adults paired up with them to make the games more manageable. I won't spoil the specifics, but the games were all fun, engaging, and doable for all ages--think trivia, timing challenges, a shooting game, and a big wheel spin. So much fun! I highly recommend this experience and will definitely be back to try a different game. If you can, request Dream as your host--she was excellent!

BRING ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS AND TEST YOUR AGILITY AND INTELLIGENCE * Price: Went for the grand opening, but the normal price is around $39.99. Look out for promos. * Experience: Very interactive. A variety of games ranging from trivia, luck, movement, strategy, and more. I would 100% come again. There's always a visual game instruction before each challenge, which helped. Our game host was REALLY HYPE and definitely brought the "game host" energy. You can have a small team or a large team of up to seven. (Would recommend a medium/large team.) Was feeling the adrenaline rush, so I don't even know how people do this on actual TV game shows. * Service: From the people who checked us in to the host that ran our game, and the person bartending--10/10. Everyone was so friendly and made conversation with us even outside of the game.

We chose the Mafia room, and from the moment we stepped in, we were transported to the Prohibition era. The atmosphere, the design--everything felt like stepping into a vintage crime thriller. The puzzles were super engaging--challenging enough to keep us on our toes, but perfectly balanced for the time limit. I especially appreciated that each room is a private experience, so it was just our group working together, which made it even more special. Martina, our host, was incredible--welcoming, professional, and gave just the right hint when we were stuck without taking away the thrill. We cracked the final clue with five minutes to spare and left feeling exhilarated! The location is a hidden gem--tucked in a quiet, walkable corner of Glover Park, close to restaurants and shops, and very easy to get to. We're already planning our return--my son can't wait to try another room with his sister and friends! The Patient room is next on our list!

I came for a friend's bday and we did the mafia room and we got the all-time record with 31 minutes left. It wasn't easy but definitely not hard. I've done escape rooms where it had a lot more puzzles (some irrelevant to actually solving the escape room). But I felt the mafia room would be great for a family or group of friends, both casual and competitive. Most of us were competitive hence the time and using no hints. Would love to try the other rooms. Despite it being on the corner of Wisconsin Ave, a busy street, there was plenty of street parking and very accessible. Love that it isn't a totally busy neighborhood.

My fiancé and I LOVE escape rooms. We've done a ton and we like to look for rooms while we travel…read more We were traveling to Arlington to meet some friends who haven't done a room before. As a four-person group, we decided to take on Poe's Chambers. The theming of this room is immaculate! Just the door to the room evokes the early 19 hundreds. Poe's Chambers really makes you feel like you're in the creative poet's home. I loved the overall feel! My fiancé and I were able to get the group through some of the puzzles, just due to our vast experience with rooms. I believe even our first-timer friends were able to see how we were making the connections and able to get their brains going too! I felt like we all really handled the room well and that it was friendly to them. There is one puzzle in particular I think E.R.A. needs to update. If it doesn't sit just so, it's easy to miss the clue. Though, everything else in the room worked flawlessly. Our game master was very attentive when we asked for two clues, though it took us a bit to decode her hints. We got out with 7 minutes to spare. I can see why this room would be an 8/10 difficulty. It's a fairly linear room, which I prefer when it comes to games. I've done rooms that feel scattered and those frustrate me to no end, lol. I do think a group of beginners might struggle, just a bit, in this room. Truly though, great room! I hope we'll get to go back again! 8/10 recommend

I'll be honest; this isn't typically my kind of activity. But it's been on my "I guess I should try…read morethis at least once" list, so when one of my new friends picked it for her birthday, I said why not...and I'm actually glad I did! We had 7 of us total (supposed to be 8, but one friend couldn't make it), and split into two teams: 3 vs. 4. BABY!!! Teamwork is not optional here You need communication, quick thinking, and a good sense of humor because you will be stressed and laughing at the same time. We went through 4 different escape rooms: won some, lost some, but the real win was the experience. The friendly competition between both teams made it even better. It was giving "we are NOT losing to y'all" energy the whole time Now let's talk about the finale...THE PAINT BOMB. The white hazard suits?? The chaos?? The fun?? 10/10. That was easily my favorite part. Overall, it took about an hour, which was perfect for a group activity, not too long, not too short. My only con: the communication about the photos/videos. Apparently, you have to opt into text messages to receive your paint bomb pics, and nobody clearly explained that. Most of us opted out because...hello, spam?? So my group didn't get our content while the other team did. We had to go on a whole mini investigation and track someone down, which wasted time. BUT I will say that the staff was super helpful, and the manager ended up finding our files and sending everything the next day. So, it worked out, but it could've been explained way better upfront. Also, yes, they serve food and drinks (including alcohol), so if you're trying to make it a full "outside" moment, you absolutely can. We skipped it since we had a late lunch reservation right after, but the option is there if you're trying to get a little litty... Would I do it again? Maybe not regularly, but for a birthday, group outing, or something different...

Trying to figure out who could help us, each team member seemed like it was someone else's job. When I asked who the forms were up on the screen they said oh thats a different team and then had to get the correct forms up for us. The lockers were super difficult to figure out and had to have another team member come over and help. The games were challenging not because of the puzzles but because of the technology used. in one of the games you had to put your wrist band up to the scanner but the scanner didn't work causing us to lose more time. The last problem was that the haz mat suits did not work on keeping the liquid out. I was completely soaked from the waist down. I'm not even sure how that was possible. I will pass on this experience in the future unless someone truly wants to go and I can be assured that the games have been fixed and updated.
