One of the keypads didn't work. The employee had to come in and unlock it with a key once we told her the right numbers. One of the combinations was wrong according to the solution of the puzzle we found. This was verified to be set on the lock incorrectly by the same employee. They told us not to move or lift any furniture and then hid things under the furniture. They used a 3 in place of an E in a way that made one of the puzzles unsolvable and one of puzzle pieces was missing from the room entirely. We needed 5 pieces and the room only contained 4. We spent the last 20 minutes searching for the last piece asking for clues only for time to run out. When the employee came in she searched all the designated locations and agreed that one was missing. We we asked if we could get free tickets to another room the host said no, she could only offer us another 5 minutes in the room to solve the rest of the puzzles. This was after she had already explained the rest of the puzzles. She clearly could not have cared less. read more

This escape room is the worst experience we have ever had in an escape room ever. We waited 20 mins for a walkie talkie, we ask for hints and get no response and when we we we can hear nothing at all. The staff was HORRIBLE. Reading from a script the entire time and giving us answers as a lazy way to get us off the walkie, even though again WE COULD NOT HEAR. I will be requesting a refund from my bank. The level of service is ridiculously unpleasant and unacceptable for a place of business. The room is all over the place there is no organization no place to put belongings and looks dirty. We left the room with time to spare because the clues were unhelpful as we could not hear a word and couldn't get helpful staff. Then the staff laughed as if something was funny as we left with half of our time left because the experience was SO BAD. When we walked in we were not acknowledged and when we weren't given walkie talkies after 20 minutes the worker said "oh shit" because she forgot. As a group who does escape rooms very often this was by far the absolute worst experience we have ever had. Someone is leadership should contact me regarding this experience. There is no reason we should have to pay for such a poor display of professionalism. You should seriously reconsider the people who you have representing your business because I can not imagine how you are still in business with the experience we just had. Talking to the staff was out of we were laughed at as the workers were more interested in being on their cellphones than doing the job they are being paid to do. This escape room is essentially a scam, we work hard for our money and when we decide to spend it it should be on quality service. We paid to stand in a room and be ignores basically to the point where we felt the only option was to leave after spending well over $100 to participate. The fact that you are still open is mind boggling to me. The reviews must be fake because there is no way anyone had a good experience here. read more

Whoever the sad little long black haired employee is needs to be fired.. from the start he was a complete jerk about the waivers.. acting as if they couldn't be signed once at the escape room (which was false) then he started a stink because someone's mask didn't follow his own personal guidelines (only rule was face coverings, which we ALL had) He got his manager on the phone who obviously sided with the correct party (us) and we were then able to perform the escape room. When my friend cut herself on one of the provided clipboards, he said "that shouldn't have happened" and blamed her for giving us damaged material? To top it off, he called me from his PERSONAL PHONE after the escape room to ask if we had stolen a lock? This person clearly wants to exert whatever little power he felt he had, wasn't able to use it, and took it out on us because we stood up for ourselves. If you want a completely unprofessional staff who accuses you of stealing, insults you at the desk, makes up their own rules, and are completely useless. This is the place for you! read more

We had an AWESOME time at Big Escape Rooms in Silver Spring. We went as a group of 4 and were paired with 2 other people who we didn't know in the "Clown" room. This was the first time that any of us had done an escape room and we were pretty excited, but also didn't know what exactly to expect; I can speak for all of us when I say it was even better than we had hoped it would be! It's a great group activity whether you're looking for some kind of team building function or random activity instead of going to the movies/bowling/etc.; you are actively engaged the entire time (the hour goes by fast!) and it was really cool to see how each member of your group has both a different perspective on the scenario and different ideas of how to solve the clues. This location was awesome. The owner/manager who helped us while we were in the room was EXCELLENT. He absolutely made the experience better. We will 100% be back to try another room. read more

The bitchy manager has the nastiest attitude, and she has this sense of entitlement​ that oozes out when she speaks to you. ​My friends​ and I have never felt so disrespected​d at an establishment​. I would never go back there myself, or recommend it to anyone for that matter. There were so many things not right in the room, and when we asked for a refund/discount/or a free room, the manager immediately​ started to get upset like we were the ones in the wrong. This was way beyond my expectations. I honestly thought I was about to waste my money when my group of four initially entered the room but little did I know we were going to be challenge where we were literally on our hands and knees. We did the OUTBREAK room and needless to say we did not save the world as we hoped and wanted to make it into the 9% of persons who were able to beat the challenge. The good thing is...we actually made it to the last clue but could not figure out the answer to open up the exit door to save the world for the life of us... but with that much of an accomplishment... hell? We did pretty darn good if you ask me...I will definitely return to do the other rooms and I urge people to give this location a try...for we had thee best host ever and felt like we were in the game even upon arrival. I think it's best to come with a group of four because too many people may throw the challenge off when the room is pretty small. We have done many escape rooms. We tried the basketball room here, which is small and low-tech. However, we still would have liked it, except for one massive problem - the puzzles were wrong and didnt work! We managed to hack at one to overcome the obvious error in one, but then we got to another that required using information given on a piece of paper. We figured out the puzzle and knew what we were supposed to do - but the code didnt work! After several tries to get the attendant to walk us through it, she stopped the time and came in, only to look at the sheet itself and say oh this is all wrong. At the end of the game i showed her how to fix the other puzzle as well. 2 of the electronic puzzles worked eventually but had obvious technical issues as well. The attendant promised a credit, but the next day we heard from the owner offering us $10 off a person to play another escape room. I didn't feel confident dropping another $80 on a room there. I am sure they can fix their errors, but it made for a poor and expensive experience for us read more

Wow, was that escape room a hoot! We drove all the way from Arlington, and believe you me, we're coming back! The clues were tough, but the wonderful game guide (we were lucky to work with Adelaide) helped us through with great hints and advice. She was patient with our large and unwieldy group, both before (my family is a wild one!) and during our game. We had a large group, but there was more than enough space for us all- it sure is a BIG escape room :) . My one critique is that it seemed at times like the staff were juggling a lot (especially Brian LOL! You'll get it if you do the clown room!), but they were so kind and the game so fun that we still had a great experience! I still can't believe we all made it out of there! read more
