Chicken soup

I stopped in solo after shopping around 4:30 PM. The restaurant was totally empty. I ordered chicken noodle soup (sadly, the crackers were all stale). The soup Average. I ordered the fish & chips dinner. Two small pieces of fish. The baked potato was excellent. The coleslaw, I was afraid to eat because it tasted like vinegar. All in all, I'm going to order only breakfast if I return. (What they are known for). The server was friendly and welcoming. The wooden table top was very sticky and gross feeling.

The staff is friendly and do their best to make sure your food is great and your cup is filled. I had chicken and waffles for breakfast! Yummy. More than enough for breakfast and lunch. Like a lot of other places, there is a fee for using a credit card. If that bothers you, bring cash.

So my mom and I decided to get some breakfast this Saturday morning before my flight home and we wanted to try something new! Apparently my mom used to go to the Big Egg all the time when she was younger at their old location! So this was fun for her to eat somewhere that reminded her of when she was younger! Our food was fantastic! It was just your well made fresh breakfast that you crave on weekend mornings. Our waitress was phenomenal. She was both the hostess and our waitress and she didn't miss a thing! She was on top of everything and her effort did not go unnoticed!! I plan to be back next time I'm in town!

My fiancé and I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning since we were in the area. This place was OK. Nothing that you can't find at any other local diner...basic breakfast fare - pancakes, waffles, omelets, etc. My fiancé said the syrup for the pancakes tasted funny and they give you a giant golf ball sized dollop of butter...too much. Coffee was pretty good, but nothing special that would make anyone go out of their way to come here. Our server was good, but the cashier didn't know anything about the Yelp check in discount when we showed her. Meh, I think there's better breakfast options in the area.

Well, goodness me -- this place is just lusciously delicious! First off -- fun atmosphere, with a…read morecozy fireplace, original decor (including oyster shell chandeliers!) and clever signage. Jeremy was our server, and was friendly, knowledgeable, and handled my gluten allergy without batting an eye. The food? Our selections were off the chain. We started with the deviled eggs - extremely creamy; a little kick; topped with a crisp cornichon. We had 4 different varieties of oysters -- all perfectly chilled and served with both cocktail and a green sauce mignonette, with plenty of lemon. Now for the showstoppers -- I had the N'awklins shrimp and grits. Oh my! The shrimp were nestled on top of the silky cheddar grits, and blackened - seasoned beautifully and cooked just right - not mushy or chewy. But the star? The broth! Tomato based, the depth of flavor was unexpected, and so good, I could have eaten a bowl of just that. My husband had Cioppino, which I could not taste due to GF. His description -- the broth was rich and thick -- not like a typical cioppino broth. It was was chock full of seafood -- very hearty -- with mussels; shrimp; calamari; clams, and just a touch of heat. The bread was also a standout -- baked to order, and then charred. You may want an extra piece of bread, he wants me to tell you! Really -- go to Salty Mary's, ask for Jeremy, and stuff yourself silly. You won't regret it.

The $3.50 oysters were okay, though not especially fresh and poorly shucked (shell fragments left in the liquor). Most dishes were heavy on Cajun seasoning, which overwhelmed the seafood rather than complementing it.
