Shrimp & grits
Joel E.

Came by this place pretty much by accident after we were in the neighborhood and decided to look for a place to have brunch nearby. A very cool vibe inside. I expected this place to be your run of the mill breakfast diner serving your staple bacon, eggs, and hash brown breakfast. Oh no, no, no!!! Try a handful of different omelets, breakfast sandwiches, chicken and waffles, just about *anything* & grits, etc. It's a very eclectic and exciting menu. Had a hard time deciding, but I went with the shrimp and grits. WOW!! This ain't your auntie's shrimp and grits. All I've gotta say is you gotta try it! The food did take a while to arrive. So be patient, especially if they're busy. But as they say, great food takes time. It was worth the wait!

Dominic Bowl

That Breakfast Place really is THAT Breakfast Place. I've ordered pick-up from here many times and I have never been disappointed. This weekend's meal really blew me away though. I got chicken wings and french toast and the dominic bowl. The dominic bowl is a breakfast potato bowl with peppers, onions, and cheese and topped with eggs. You can add meat if you'd like. I get this often and it's always good. It comes with a piece of wheat bread toast. The potatoes are well seasoned and fully cooked and the peppers and onions are seasoned too! However, The star of this meal was the wing dings. I could not really place my finger on the combination of seasoning that they used on the chicken, but it was phenomenal. It tasted kind of sweet but perfectly salted. They were 6 wing dings all breaded, fried, and seasoned to perfection. The french toast pieces are hand-dipped and made using a thick bread. I appreciate the fact that they aren't too thin or soggy and they are topped with delicate powdered sugar. The whole meal lasted me all day. I've never eaten in, but everything I go to pick up my food, the place is pretty full and they do a lot of carry-out orders. Service is fine and efficient, taking my order of the phone and it's always been ready by the time I get there.

Catfish and biscuits and gravy

This place was awesome. Very unassuming exterior and dining area, but the food was great. I had catfish, grits, biscuits and turkey gravy. The gravy is homemade and they bread their own catfish. The catfish was perfect. No skin, no bones. Cooked perfectly. Stayed crispy the whole meal. Tender meat, no "dirty" catfish flavor. The gravy was awesome. Deep flavor with lots of turkey sausage. Server was very helpful. Food came out quickly and piping hot. I'd definitely go back.

The Trio

I am all about a good, hearty nreakfast, no frills, and great value. You will find that here. I got the Trio: 3 eggs, 3 bacon, 2 sausages, toast, home fries/grits. $8.90. A solid value. They also have other, fun plates like waffles and chicken. Stop in.

Do not bother. Unbelievable waste of time. 45 minutes for 1 dish is absurd. Pile of grease.

The show was amazing per usual the performers really give it their all. Definitely check out the burlesque show starring Bella Sin. there was a local artist selling her art as you came in. I bought quite a few pieces, glitter and Snark. Check out her artwork they're hilarious and adorable.

I had visited the downstairs record store a few years ago, but this was the first time I went into…read morethe theater for a show. It's a nice old place with a flat floor and a raised stage. The view is okay, unless you're sitting behind a tall person... which is exactly what happened. I was enjoying the show for about twenty minutes, when suddenly a REALLY tall guy plopped down right in front of me, completely blocking my view. Don't understand why; there were plenty of other empty seats. So I moved (not the last time.) I saw the band 15-60-75, and their movie, and the sound was clear and balanced for both. However, this evening, there was a major problem. They had the theater as cold as a meat freezer (it was a pleasant June evening.) It was all anyone could talk about. We left at the first (film) intermission, because the ambiance was unbearable! Was the movie any good? I have no idea, I was just thinking about trying to get warm! If I ever go back to the Beachland, I'll be sure to wear a winter coat, gloves, earmuffs and a scarf. Even if it's the middle of summer.

Made reservations for L'Albatros for my husband's birthday. I wanted some place nice and close to…read morethe Maltz Performing Arts Center that we were going to see a candlelight concert. We arrived on time. The parking was $3.00. The restaurant is in an old carriage house on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. We were placed in a the back room near a mini door by a window and a view of the patio garden. The inside was very nice. I am a bit claustrophobic so I sat with my back to the corner while my husband had a view of the corner. Fortunately, he could see the patio which he liked. The other downside, was the couple of flies that kept buzzing to and fro around the window, We joked that we wanted inside on the nice late afternoon / early evening to avoid bugs. Hahaha. We laughed at that too as our week had us on Lake Erie covered with midgies one day and then biting flies a few days later. Gotta laugh, but I digress. L'Albatros! Our server Kyle and the team did a great job! We had water, bread with olive oil, as needed. We started with cocktails and the "French Toast". My husband enjoyed a nice white wine and I had the L'Albatros Original ( Absinthe, Lime, Pineapple, Mint ). I loved the cocktail, it was just a tad sweet, but the flavor was super ! The "French Toast" was a substantial slice of French toast covered with ragout of wild mushrooms and balsamic syrup and micro greens and shaved parmesan. It was lovely. My husband LOVES mushrooms, so this was perfect. For our mains, he ordered the shrimp pasta. Kyle shared that the cream sauce is made with Pernod, which my husband is not a fan of Anise/ black licorice,so he would not enjoy. Kyle offered that they could do a vodka cream sauce instead. This was a much better option for him and he really enjoyed. I ordered the Root Vegetable Cassoulet. It was topped with some breadcrumb mixture. It was the least successful part of the dish. While I normally like a crumble, this has an odd texture. The root vegetables were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious. For dessert, my husband ordered cheesecake. I had a bite and it was tasty. I ordered a cappuccino and it was made perfectly. Definitely a place we would both be happy to return to. Well done service, food and ambiance!
