    Fish and grits!

This was my first time getting breakfast from here, and I got take out, so I can't vouch for the whole menu or the service (though I was greeted with a friendly hello, and the lady who gave me my order and took payment was very pleasant), but, GET THE FISH AND GRITS. The fish was seasoned perfectly and was nice and crispy even though I was late picking up my order and had to drive to my office before I ate. I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner, as it's right on my way to work. I will definitely be adding this to my Friday breakfast rotation!

    I was descent.

It was descent I'd say. Was good for the short stay in town. And as New Yorkers I want to say the service felt like I was in ENY.

Home fries, salmon patties and scrambled eggs

We found this little place online while searching for places to get breakfast close by to where we were staying and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and figured we'd give it a try. The food is amazing! I ordered home fries with onions and peppers, salmon patties and scrambled eggs. I had zero complaints with the food. I highly recommend those salmon patties! My son is type 1 diabetic and although diet soft drinks were not available, they were very helpful and accommodating in getting him some sugar free syrup for his pancakes without me even asking if they had any. The people here made us feel so welcome. Thank you for a great breakfast experience and adding to the pleasure of our stay in Cleveland

We were looking for a quick place to have breakfast. We got to choose where we wanted to sit. Waitress came over right away. Great cup of coffee. We ordered fried egg sandwiches, homefries, pancakes, and sausage. You can tell pancakes and home fries were homemade. Great price for the amount of food served.

Definitely an interesting experience. The culture is very different from what I'm use to, but I felt the family vibes that was there. The place had open sitting either at booths, tables or the bar table. I'm a booth person! Service was pretty standard; nothing remarkable. We weren't sure about parking so settled for street parking instead. Which turned out perfectly since the food was filling, so that 1-2 minute walk was good for us! Home fries were unexpectedly greasy for me, but of course I ate everything on my plate! Sausages are homemade, they were tough to chew for me and a bit dry. Eggs and toast were perfect. My friend had the pancakes (which is made from Annie's original recipe) and I was glad he shared because those definitely did not taste like "out-of-the-box" pancakes. They had some sweetness to them aside from the syrup. Overall, I am glad to have stopped in at this breakfast spot, but probably will not be returning anytime soon.

Pancakes. Get them. I'm not even a pancake person. I don't ever order them- keep my breakfast savory, please. Not here! The pancakes are incredible. I had so many crispy edges- daaaang. Also, the syrup is NOT watery stuff. Nope! Full flavah. My eggs were delicious as well! Much better than most diners. Sausage patties are scrumptious. The price is also right- $6 gets you a huge meal and coffee. Service is wonderful- we got tons of coffee refills and everyone is really friendly. Only cons? Took awhile for our meal and not many others were there. I would go here when time isn't tight.

    Excellent!

From the second my friend and I walked in we were greeted warmly. Our waitress was so kind and attentive. I had read reviews for this place and everyone seemed to be suggesting pancakes so I had to taste myself. THEY WERE EXCELLENT! Everything was so tasty and affordable. The inside is super cute too! Cage free eggs They buy from local farmers I definitely will be going back.

    Pancake breakfast minus one sausage.

Stopped in here on our way home to Toronto on a Wednesday morning. This is a down home greasy spoon that does breakfast right. We were kindly greeted by the staff and seated ourselves. We had hot coffees ready as we checked out the menu. My wife opted for the fried green tomato breakfast and I had the pancake breakfast. The meals came with eggs (we took them scrambled) and bacon or sausage. The eggs were amazing cooked just right not under done or over done. My wife's tomatoes were great, better than we had a fancy spot in Louisville. The pancakes were amazing. 3 fluffy made from scratch pancakes that were golden brown. Try these. The sausage was also surprisingly good. Not sure if they were homemade or not. The best part the meal came in under $15! Check this place out the food is high quality, portions are huge, and prices are great.

Both were delicious! The biscuit was perfectly buttery, and it was covered in a rich, flavorful mushroom gravy and came with scrambled eggs. It was filling but somehow not too heavy. It was topped with a thin layer of rhubarb jam that brought a nice tartness along with a dollop of sorghum butter and whipped cream, and served with Ohio maple syrup on the side. I could have easily had a whole stack of the pancakes. The staff was friendly, and though the place was busy, the service was efficient. Excited to come here again! The Rowley Inn is located in a nice neighborhood (Tremont) across the street from the Christmas Story house. I had three meals there. The first, loaded pierogis, was the ultimate comfort dish. Pierogis with potato centers were covered in diced kielbasa, bacon (yes, bacon), and covered in cheddar cheese. Ahhhhh. The others at my table raved about the kielbasa and pierogi dish. They also liked the beer selection. How do you know you have a great find? You think about the meal long after it is consumed. Next meal- breakfast. I had the kielbasa and pierogi omelet. Need I say more? Finally, we came back a third time and I ordered the burger. No burger place (save Chuckbox in Tempe, AZ) can match the Rowley burger. The burger is actually seasoned and cooked to order. I had it medium rare. Sheer perfection. Typing this review makes me sad because I live far away from Cleveland. What we ate was decent, but honestly nothing that stuck with us enough to say- COME HERE! We definitely didn't understand all the good reviews when our food finally came out. They didn't even come out together and our second plate was wrong when it finally arrived so it had to get redone. So the service really got to us especially since there were only 2 other tables being waited on and a couple stragglers sitting at the bar. Parking is street parking in a neighborhood! So it can be hard during the day but we lucked out that evening.

We were totally fine with that, went and grabbed a coffee from a local shop, and then returned to the restaurant. Food was great and the server was so kind! The reason for the 3-star review is because the hostess was very rude. She completely shattered an easy 5-star review. We had nine people in the family, and one was golfing. We intended to put in a takeout order for him but due to the 45-minute wait, he ended up finishing before we were even seated. We invited him to come along and then we were called to be sat. We ordered his meal for him prior to him arriving and this was still a major problem for the hostess. She basically threatened to move us back outside and told us we were "holding the table" even though we would have never done that. Instead of giving me the opportunity to explain to her we would have done takeout anyways had he not arrived(but he did because again, it was a 45 minute wait), she just continued to talk over me. It made all of us very uncomfortable and the first 10 minutes we felt very on edge and unwelcomed. She then did the same thing to our ninth person when they walked in the restaurant 5 minutes after. He had no idea what had already occurred and was also caught off guard. Most of us worked in this industry in the past, and we thought we were doing the right thing by letting her know. Thank you to everyone else who helped soften our experience. It was very appreciated. Every person who brought a dish to our table was extremely kind. We all had something different on the menu and there were no complaints!

I forgot the ricotta was supposed to be there because it mostly tasted liked mushroom, but it was good. I also got the cinnamon monkey bread. This was not good. It was seemingly cooked in the paper that it was served in so the top of the bread pieces were crunchy, the middle was softer and then everything else was completely stuck to the paper. I didn't get to eat about 1/3 of what I paid for and I had to work really hard for the other 1/3. Also, the bread had a very spicy taste. It must have been cinnamon and allspice, but it was entirely too much and very overpowering. It truly tasted like a spicy savory bread which is not what I was expecting or wanted. Monkey bread is usually gooey and sweet. This missed the mark, but that's okay. I'll certainly return for another treat soon. Also the bread was looking fire this day.

The guy at the register said the bread pudding still has a "cinnamon roll base, so it has orange in it" despite nothing in the sign denoting this awful addition to bread pudding and the fact that cinnamon rolls are not orange rolls. But I digress and I won't fight with a cashier over their poor decisions lol. Also got a cherry chocolate sourdough on impulse. Pray it is soft inside.
