What a wild ride this was. We ate here twice because it was next to our hotel. Both times had highs and lows. For dinner I ordered the hearty Mac and cheese which, as far as I can tell was velveeta Mac and cheese and when it was done, they pulled some croutons from the salad bag and dropped them on top of the Mac and cheese. The croutons make it hearty. I will say the bartender made a great espresso martini from scratch. But to be clear, most of the time the espresso martinis come out of a machine. Lame. The next morning my gf and I both ordered French toast and this part was UNHINGED. we both ordered the same thing at the same time and I swear to god we received two totally different French toasts. Mine was fluffy and delicious. Hers was about as dry as cardboard and just as flavorful as cardboard too. Check out the picture. The fluff yellow slice was mine, the sad gray puck was hers. I'm going to be honest, I expected this place to be much more crowded during Happy Hour on a Thursday night. But I was so pleasantly surprised to find a seat at the bar while I was dining by myself. Couple of older folks were there as well either working on a laptop or chatting over some food and a cocktail. The bartender was wonderfully friendly and efficient. They have a broad menu with great prices. Not to mention Happy Hour pricing is really good. I ordered the Cobb Salad and subbed blackened salmon for the chicken. I was not expecting a GIANT salad jam packed with ingredients. This was easily 2 meals. I took this salad to go and they forgot the dressing, but quite frankly it didn't even need any. Drinks were flavorful and well mixed. I got a coffee to go as well (they don't have iced coffee but the amazing bartender made it happen anyway). This is Cleveland's VERY BEST place for breakfast! We went there twice in a three-day weekend! Rivor was our waitress and she was part of the reason we went back. Located in the Halle Building in downtown Cleveland, Yours Truly is a great and reliable diner offering up breakfast all day and a variety of diner favorites and classics. Yours Truly is a go-to for me because, yes, it is convenient for me while in town for work, but also because it is really a great options for breakfast lovers. I've tried a variety of their offerings and what I find myself returning to time and time again is an order of their Monster Hash with a side of two over easy eggs. For me it just hits the spot and never disappoints. I also really enjoyed the Notso Omelet and that may find its way into the rotation as well. Service has always been great! Super friendly, more than happy to offer up suggestions if needed but also not overbearing. Whilst they do offer happy hour and a full bar, I've never partaken in said offerings. Short, sweet, and to the point; if you're looking for a great breakfast option while near Playhouse Square in downtown I cannot recommend a stop at Yours Truly enough. We just went to the one in Beachwood and it was amazing, so when we got up from the hotel located right next door we wanted a repeat but ended up flubbing. At 0730 on a Monday, the armosphere was amazing, there were no people, but were hit with a server more interested in talking to her friends than getting us our drinks, and then the food arrived burned. I ordered the general tso's chicken with rice, sweet potato fries, and fresh fruit. Service was of high quality, and I scarfed the food down - it was exactly what I needed. The flavors of the rice were savory and herby, and paired well with the sweetness of the chicken and sticky sauce. The sweet potato fries were great too, but anything sweet potato is a hit with me. The sauce that came with it was dairy free, but creamy (I assume some kind of mayo base?), it was great too. The fresh fruit side, was, well, fresh tasting! The strawberries were great. Popular diner in Playhouse Square. We ate a quick but good meal before walking over to Progressive Field for a baseball game. Hubby chose the 12 oz steak (medium well) and ate it all, plus a large cup / small bowl of chicken noodle soup and half of his saffron rice. I had the cod on spinach and onions with the saffron rice (nothing special; it was a little dry). I couldn't eat the Asian veggies I had ordered because the spinach and onions was so substantial. The fish was nicely seasoned, and the spinach and onions were very good, but the best part of all was the tartar sauce. SO GOOD. I liked my cucumber cooler as well. Good thing they have closed captioning on the TVs, as it was very loud. We came by RTA bus, so I can't say anything about the parking. read more

Ate here recently with a group of coworkers for dinner. We were meeting at the Crowne Plaza so this was a very short walk on the first night we were all in town. Menu is large and diverse so some ordered sandwiches, some ordered fish, and I ordered breakfast. The breakfast was great overall but the eggs were a little runny for my liking. Most people ate good but a few of the group weren't happy with their choices. Again, a spot like this with so many options isn't likely going to make amazing food but for the price, good choice. Location is great right in Playhouse Square and walking distance to Rocket Field House and Progressive Field. As a ten year old I love pancakes, and I ordered the mouse pancakes; a mouse shaped pancake it was delicious I added whipped cream, strawberry and maple syrup. Before we left Cleveland, my boyfriend and I stopped at Yours Truly for breakfast. We noticed that in a quick Google search that they offered gluten free options. I went with the Sedona omelet, which was sauteed applewood smoked ham, green pepper, onion, and cheese. I chose the cottage fries as my side. My boyfriend ordered a side of the corned beef hash and the BLT breakfast. Everything was good. I really enjoyed the cottage fries, which were like sidewinders. The service was great and fast, which I appreciated because the meter was ticking and I didn't have any more quarters. But more on that later. There is street parking and old school street parking where you have to use quarters. So make sure you have some change in your pocket. read more

When the food arrived, I was surprised to receive a very small portion, but I initially assumed the restaurant just had unusually small servings for that price. Then, I noticed the table next to me order a "side Caesar salad," and they were served the exact same portion I had received. Curious, I asked our waitress, "It's okay either way, but I just wanted to confirm--did I receive the full Caesar salad or the side salad?" She seemed completely unsure, didn't know the prices of the menu items, and wasn't certain what she had served me. She offered to double-check, and when she returned, she admitted I had been given the side salad. She said she adjusted the check accordingly. I thanked her, assuming the side salad would cost around $6-8, as the "Side House Salad" was listed on the menu at $6.70. When we finished our meal and received the check, my salad was priced at $10.50. The waitress explained that this was the price of a "small Caesar salad." I found this confusing--how could a tiny side Caesar salad only be $1.30 cheaper than the full-size Caesar salad? There was no mention of a "small Caesar salad" priced at $10.50 anywhere on the menu, which made it seem like they had created a price on the spot to cover their mistake. What made it worse is that I never ordered a small salad--I wanted the full-sized one to begin with. If I'd known I'd be served such a tiny portion (maybe 6 ounces), I would've expected the price to reflect that. Despite raising my concerns, they were dismissed. I paid the bill to avoid making a bigger issue, but the situation left a bad impression. Although the waitress was kind, I won't be returning due to the deceptive pricing and lack of alignment with what was listed on the menu, as well as the quality of the food itself. read more

Tl;dr great food, poor service I came here with friends for brunch on a Sunday morning. We were a party of four, and the restaurant doesn't take reservations. We got there at 11 AM and the wait was about 30 minutes, which wasn't too bad. We just waited in the lobby of the Halle building next door since it was boiling hot outside. The four of us were quite hungry, and we were itching to order food. We started out with some orange juice mimosas, which took a while to come out even though it was just champagne and orange juice? We then place our orders, after which our waiter basically abandoned us. We've been sitting there for nearly 30 minutes, with just our mimosas and no food, and I literally had to flag him down just to ask for glasses of water. It took nearly an hour for our food to arrive, which was quite frustrating, and everyone in our group was getting quite hangry. The food itself was quite delicious. I got the omelette, and the other members of my party ordered the sunrise, the killit skillet, and the eggs bruschetta and a pancake. Honestly, all of the food was really delicious, that we're not entirely sure how much of it was just because we were literally starving. The omelette was quite fluffy, and they definitely didn't skimp on the fillings. The hashbrowns really hit the spot, though I do wish it they were a bit crispier. In any case, I would definitely recommend the food. I would consider coming back if I wanted an American brunch, and I am curious about the rest of the food on their menu. On our way to the Theater district to see the large outdoor chandelier, my wife and I stopped in here for breakfast on a breezy Saturday morning. We were seated in the lobby of the adjacent Halle building were they have a half dozen tables. There are more traditional booths inside their space proper along with some outdoor sidewalk tables. All the usual items one expects are on their all day breakfast menu. My wife ordered two eggs over medium with bacon and rye toast. She would have preferred sourdough toast but that's not an option here. Her eggs arrived over medium well and a little too cooked for her toast dunking ritual. She skipped the potatoes substituting fruit for them. Her coffee was meh. I selected French toast with strawberries and added bacon. The French toast was thin bread which was fine but I like it to be on the thicker side. Still it was enjoyable and I left none behind. I asked for "floppy" bacon but got crispy instead oh well. My orange juice was the darkest orange ever with the right amount of pulp. Refreshing. Prices were reasonable with service feeling kinda indifferent and cold but efficient. read more

A great classic diner with homestyle cooking. I came with a few friends for brunch and split an order of French toast/an omelet with my friend. I asked for a side of hash browns but I should have gotten the cottage fries -- the cottage fries are perfectly crispy and delicious whereas the hash browns were a bit sad and soggy. The omelet was delicious but the French toast was nothing to write home about. Our waitress was absolutely delightful. Disaster visit here on a Sun AM before Guardians game. Wait was quoted 20-30.. we got called at 40 mins then escorted upstairs but there was no tables. So they had to find one downstairs to clean off so we stood in the isle for 5 mins while waiting for host to bus the table. We ordered instantly when server came and had to wait 50 minutes for breakfast food!! Unreal slowness. Got sat in last table by restroom. So there's 8-10 ppl standing right next to us watching us eat while they wait for the toilet! Nice! I don't think we'll come back to this location. Downtown has NO parking anywhere near restaurant. Stopped by for happy hour, yours truly is right by the chandelier at Playhouse Square. Saw that they have the most popular happy hour, it was pretty sad. Five men 60+ were sitting alone at the bar eating burgers & drinking. It did have an industrial feel with cement floors and brick walls. There was free WiFi & plugs next to pocketbook hooks at the bar. This is the Crown Plaza Hotel Restaurant & Bar. Peter was our bartender in training. He got me a chardonnay & my husband a Malibu fun in the sun. The Restaurant is in the historic Halle Building from 1910. The Halle Dept.
