    Strip mall store front

An interesting mash-up of cultural food styles...Middle Eastern flavors with American dishes. Came in here recently with a group of work friends and was able to try a bunch of unique lunch items. Service is fast-casual style with a walk-up counter for ordering and then the piping hot dishes are brought right to your table. My co-worker and I decided we'd shar both a pizza and a burger...chicken shawarma pie and the mushroom, grilled onion and cheese on a burger pocket pita. We also got to try our other co-worker's spinach pie. The chicken shawarma's spice profile made for an interesting pizza slice, but the savory flavor really hit the spot! The pita pocket style cheeseburger was very unique and a fun mixing of flavors and textures. We also got an order of their double-fried french fries and they were perfect! Everyone agreed that the spinach pie was just okay...I brought the leftovers home and reheated then topped with hummus and that amped up the flavor. Hoping this spot does well as it is a fun mix of flavors and style that is sure to please!

This was a new find for us! We happened upon it while trying shabam coffee down the strip and decided to stop for lunch. Their spin on pizza and cheeseburgers is so good we've already been back again. Would highly recommend the cheese burger with mushroom and onions. The person checking us out was very helpful and answered our questions. There is free parking available. There are tables available in the store but it can get busy during lunch and dinner time.

I went here based on the many positive reviews. The place was busy when I got there. I placed an order for a hummus and cheeseburger. First off I was disappointed that the hummus doesn't come with any bread whatsoever and the lady at the counter told me to order bread separately. When i received my order I asked for a bag so I could carry the three things and i found the lady's attitude a bit off putting in simply handing me s bag. Next comes the food: the highlight for me was the bread , it was nothing amazing but I liked that it was fresh and hot. The hummus was particularly generic tasting to me. Something I could've gotten from the store. Lastly the cheese burger that is encased in dough was not well seasoned and the dough around it was both uncooked and soggy. I don't believe this place lived up to any hype whatsoever.

Awesome pizza! After seeing all the great reviews my friend and I decided to give it a try. The place has a great atmosphere when you walk in. Since it was our first time here we decided to try a few items and share. We decided on a bbq chicken pizza, shawarma pie, and a Greek salad. They have a cooler of drinks with some unique selections. After you order you find a table to sit down and they bring the food out to use as it is finished. They started by delivering the Greek salad. They brought plates and forks for us to share. The salad was a fresh mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, cheese and lettuce with a great dressing. Next came out the shawarma pie. The best way to explain it is a fold over or Stromboli. The one we chose had chicken and unique seasonings. Tasty but we felt it could use a dipping sauce. Then the pizza came out. It was hot and delicious. I would definitely come again and explore the rest of the menu!

With egg, green olives and mozzarella and a sfiha

We have been here several times and still marvel at the delicate, softness of their dough. Our favorite is the egg with olive and mozzarella. We also had the sfiha. There are enough different iterations to come back over and over. They seem to do a decent take-out business as well as in store, so you may wait a bit. This is something different that we appreciate having now and then. Try it, we think you'll like it.

We placed an order for 12 burgers today--5 mushroom onion, 3 cheeseburgers, and 4 chicken burgers. Our food was ready for pickup in a speedy 20 minutes, and when we got home, it was still hot enough to make an oven jealous. The inside of the bakery/ restaurant is very clean and gives you old style cafe vibes.. Now, let's talk about the presentation. These burgers come in boxes that scream, "What's inside is going to be amazing!" Not your typical flimsy takeout container; it's like the burgers are dressed to impress. And boy, did they deliver! The burgers aren't on an ordinary bun. Each burger was cooked to perfection--juicy, hot, and with cheese still melted like a warm hug and wrapped in a thin bread wrap. . The mushroom onion burger? One bite and it was like a flavor explosion--seasonings dancing on my taste buds like they just won the lottery. The chicken burger was so juicy, it had my taste buds singing "Oh la la!" like a French chef who just found the secret ingredient. If you're in the mood for a burger with a twist, give Fire & Dough a try. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

Akkawi Cheese Pie For the pizza lover.....
    Ula J.

I have gone here to eat as well as taken to go and had food delivered. I recommend eating in person but food is still amazing other wise. I often get the KHUBIZ[bread] with akawee cheese and it never disappoints. Their falafel is better than establishments in CLE that have been there for years as well which is impressive. Also I have heard that their knaffa is to die for . One day I'll be honored to try it. However the place itself is set up very nicely cozy and the dim lighting choices in color gives it an edge noone in the area has, food is well presented, steaming hot when you receive it and I thought it was classy of them to have a quote on their to go boxes appreciating their customers.

This place has quickly risen to my favorite restaurant. I have been a few times and tried about 7 things on the menu - all have been 5 stars. I think about it when I'm not there. I order extra so I have left overs. I'm sad when the leftovers are gone. The service has been great each time we've been there too. They make suggestions for something to order and even though they don't come to your table for your order, they still check on you. No fountain soda - only cans and a variety of other bottled drinks. To sum it up - it's fresh and amazing :)

    Beef Shawarma Pie
    Jessica M.

Ordered takeout on a Saturday night and only took 20 minutes to prepare. We got the Flatbread with Akkawi Cheese and Zaatar and really liked it. The flatbread was light and airy. The Akkawi cheese for those who have never had is like Feta and Mozzarella had a baby. The Beef Shawarma Pie was delicious and probably my favorite. The Pie is stuffed with delicious seasoned beef Shawarma. We got a Greek salad and tabouli salad and the dressing it came with was really nice. Overall great ethnic spot in North Olmsted!

Jade Owl Cafe is a very cute coffee shop/cafe/breakfast place located on Lorain Road in a free…read morestanding building that can be easy to miss as it kind of blends in with the surroundings. Parking can be challenging, there is a very small lot in front with 2 regular spaces and 1 handicap space; plus there are several spots on the street, all of which were full. I ended up parking on the nearby side street by the Burger King. Inside the cafe there are two distinct sides, the right side is set up as a coffee shop with the service counter, some high top tables and some comfortable seating; the left side is set up as a dining area with a bar. The decor is bright and modern with some touches of whimsy, overall very nice and comfortable, the kind of place you can relax and take your time. The menu is set up with a number of categories: breakfast, paninis, salads, wraps, flatbreads, wafflesicles and drinks. Prices are reasonable and there are some interesting items. I had a certificate for $20 so I ordered the Smashed Egg Avocado Bagel, the Bang Bang Shrimp Wrap and a big Chocolate Chip Cookie. The staff was great getting the certificate redeemed and guiding me through the menu. The food came out in a very timely manner, presentation was simple and straightforward. I had plenty of food for a very nice lunch. The egg and avocado bagel was interesting, the bagel was a bit soft for my preference, it was topped with a generous spread of egg and avocado mix plus some fresh spinach leaves. A very nice and healthy breakfast sandwich, a bit milder in flavor then I prefer, but good. The shrimp wrap was a good sized flour wrap around cold cooked shrimp with shredded cabbage and a great spicy sauce that perfectly complimented the wrap. This was excellent, the cool meaty shrimp contrasting with the crunchy cabbage and the zippy creamy sauce. I would highly recommend this if you like a bit of spice. The warm cookie was a great way to finish my lunch, very soft and gooey, packed with high quality chocolate chunks. About the only issue I had with the cookie was that it was hard to eat with just my hands, I ended up using the fork for most of the cookie. Jade Owl Cafe is a great local place to grab some high quality food, pastries and drinks. It is woman and minority owned, very well thought out and executed. The food is fresh and tasty, service was great and the overall experience was just what you could expect from a cafe. If you are in the area give them a try.

(One table was very cold and drafty so watch out hahah) Service was slow; I think maybe only two people were working. There was a giant garage door which will be so nice to have open in nicer weather!! We were also wondering if the mugs will be switched out for glasses when it's iced coffee season! We didn't have kids with us, but noticed some kids toys, a high chair, and changing table in the bathroom available making this place a kid friendly option! Overall, I would definitely come back !

Coffee or tea in a place most people wouldn't think is a college town - 1 of 2…read more This coffeehouse, Rise and Grind, came up on a search when I was in this immediate area. I chuckle at all the names coffeehouses come up with that have the word grind or ground in them. It's a lot like how places that cut hair seem to work in the word(s) sheer and/or shear. The college here is private Baldwin-Wallace University which may have had a religious denomination closer to its founding, but, at this juncture, appears to be more secular. It's actually a few miles east of Rise and Grind, closer to the older town center, and offers instruction in a broader range of fields than one might expect. I saw that this coffeehouse got very good reviews and, with its big parking lot near a major gym, I thought I'd take a look. Parking was easy and, upon entering, one sees it's both a physically and personally welcoming place. The store is lengthy, so one can sit in the front half or the back half, which is more suitable for larger groups, but I chose the table I selected for its proximity to outlets and the counter. On what was a warmer day, I opted for iced tea and an orange frosted donut. The brand of unsweetened iced tea was very good and the orange donut was delicious. I could have eaten another one. Beyond chocolate donuts, this is probably my favorite flavor and one doesn't often come across orange frosted donuts. The service was very amicable. The prices are in line with what others running independent coffeehouses would charge. In fact, I'm starting to like independent coffeehouses more and more for a multitude of reasons, one being that they now handily compete with the chains and have more character. Rise and Grind falls in between 4 and 5 stars, but it tilts to 5 stars because of the tidiness and pleasing ambiance of the store, the apparent vibe that this is a labor of love for the proprietors, and even for having that orange frosted donut.

I recently visited here and I thought it was definitely worth the 5 stars! I came on a Friday morning, and there was no line. There's a parking lot, which is always helpful. Lots of fun drink combinations. I can't remember which latte I ended up going with, but it was sooooo good!!! The sizes are huge though, so just a heads up! There were some food choices. Seemed like healthy options and some pastries. I would have loved a breakfast sandwich without a meat option, but they all seemed to have meat on them. I could have asked for a custom sandwhich, but our barista wasn't very friendly. Not rude or anything!!! Just didn't smile or say hi. Just stared at us. Not a big deal, just not very welcoming! (Maybe she hadn't had her own coffee yet haha). There were lots of different seating options all decorated differently. Lots of different styles, but seemed like an overall safari theme, maybe. (I was obsessed with that cute little elephant and I want one!!!) On the way out, the guy who was working was super friendly to us! Seemed very kind and personable. He made me smile! Overall, I would definitely come back ! I really enjoyed it here !

The staff we met was pleasant and efficient. Our server, Mina, did an excellent job all night. If there was a weak point, it would be the food. It was not bad (I'm trying to be kind); it was just uninspired, limited, and not really well prepared. Because they do not offer bread for the table our only option was to order the "Soft Pretzel". It arrived badly overcooked, crunchy not soft, and even boardering on burnt. The charcuterie board was OK, but uninspired. I ordered the "Lemon Chicken" which was a full half chicken in a reasonably good sauce. But the meat was dry and it came only with brussel sprouts (yuk!). My wife had the "Walleye" which she simply said was "okay"... oh well. Our guests weren't any more impressed than we were. I will say our coffee and "Pot de Creme" were very good... thank goodness. We dropped in for Happy Hour, looking for cocktails and a few bites, and were immediately struck by the well-appointed space. The runway views at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport added an unexpected layer of entertainment--watching planes take off and land while toasting 14 years of marital bliss felt like the perfect backdrop. We started strong with a French 75 and an Old Fashioned--both expertly crafted, but that Old Fashioned? Smooth, balanced, and memorable enough to set the tone for the entire evening. Wednesday happens to be Wing Day ($2 whole wings), and we took full advantage. We sampled Buffalo, Sweet & Tangy BBQ, Lemon Pepper Dry Rub, and the undeniable star of the show: Garlic Parmesan. Each had its own personality, but that Garlic Parmesan was simply elite. Service was impeccable--Emily was attentive without being intrusive, making sure our experience flowed as effortlessly as the cocktails. Speaking of which, round two brought a Cosmo alongside a repeat of that Old Fashioned...because when you find the right note, you stay in that key. For food, we shared the French Dip Baguette--shaved prime rib, provolone, horseradish aioli, and au jus done right--and paired it with the Mega Crunch Fries, elevated with sea salt, rosemary, and a light truffle oil drizzle. Simple menu items, executed with intention. We closed the evening the same way we began--together, with one final round of Old Fashioneds. A Happy Hour well spent. A celebration well honored.
