It was fun to draw on their table cloths! Good breakfast, too!

Yessss to the best GF pancakes I've ever tasted!!!! Omelette did not disappoint and their 'build your board' board at the table is THE BEST! I'm Sally at the customization of ordering so being able to select everything (including the most-best 'well-done' hash browns! We will be back 100%!

Small place with limited menu!! Fish & fries were very good!!! Cheeseburger & Onion Rings also very good!!! Had to drink out of jars with no straws!! Delivery not there yet!!! Waitress very friendly & patient!! Nice clean place with nice decor!! Recommend if you don't mind limited menu!!!

On the left is a stuffed green pepper and on the right is the pesto chicken (mine). Rounding out these are fries and pita with hummus.

A recent review describes this small cafe - Check Please - as a gem. I'd say that comes fairly close. A friend who lives in this metro area is always willing to make the drive to Grafton, OH to eat here. And that includes bumbling down these quasi-country roads to get here. I had always assumed that Check Please did a breakfast-lunch business. They do, but they stay open for all three meals, closing at 8:00 p.m. I am impressed with how they navigate covering the traditional basics for these meals in addition to coming up with some more creative menu items. However, they get their name from these paper checklists on the table, along with colored pencils and paper tablecloths, on which you can customize breakfast platters, sandwiches, and salads, at the very least. (Some people will obviously want to scribble on the paper table cloth, too.) And, on top of this, they come up with some innovative spins on home made traditional desserts, should you have room for that. Every now and then, you should make room! This is more than a restaurant in that it approaches a cafe-bistro style even though its exterior definitely looks more "mom and pop." The food at Check Please is excellent. The ingredients that go into what they make appear to be top drawer, both fresh and locally sourced. The service is also excellent - customer focused, amicable, and effective. If you have a refillable drink, they will see to it that it is refilled as you go along. The pricing is fair. You would not expect to find an eatery like Check Please on a two-lane road south of the Ohio Turnpike. The other thing that's funny is that there will be an "interesting" intersection of people here, since this is at the edge of a metro area, in a small town with farms around it, and near Oberlin College, which always makes the list of the 10 or 20 most liberal small colleges in America. Lena Dunham, who I dislike, speaks to that and is an alumna. What this means is that its customers will span a wide gamut of ideologies. Get off the turnpike and drive down to Check Please. This place is a great find.

Love eating here because you know the ingredients are the best quality and many items are made in house.

Cajun bacon, it was clearly burnt. I sent it back and it came back barely edible. The staff was very friendly.

The staff was friendly and the service was good. The food was just ok. I ordered a side of the Cajun bacon, it was inedible. I had them make it again, the waitress said it's dark because of the seasonings used. No it's burnt!

I placed a phone order at this quaint little breakfast diner in Grafton. I was pleasantly surprised but the charms and kitchy ambiance it had to offer. They offer your traditional breakfast foods along with healthier options like sides or fruit as well as avocado toast. They also have a soup and sandwich menu as well as traditional entrees. I appreciate that they offer dine in, delivery, or pick up. I ordered the avocado toast with a side of home fries and sausage patty's. The avocado toast did not come with butter or anything on it which would have been nice and the avocado was over ripe slices. The home fries were sliced potatoes with skin which was a nice surprise. The sausage was a little bit spicey and the fruit was nicely diced.

Food was fresh, served to order, and the Red Cedar coffee was amazing!!! Service was fast and so well done. The decor is farmhouse and very quaint. Cozy atmosphere. Glad we found this place, we will be back.

Food is pretty basic diner fare. The coffee, however, is awful. It tastes like a cup of hot water. Consistently. No other complaints.

I love breakfast bowls and they had a few to choose from, so I selected one of those along with a blueberry pancake. I normally don't gravitate to our pancakes, but I had to try since I had a few different options. I just got one, but that was plenty with my breakfast bowl. I chose the blueberry pancake and it was one of the best I've had. The breakfast bowl came out nice and hot with great flavors and a couple eggs on top. Everything was just fantastic. The ambience is what you would expect from a local diner. I will definitely be back so give it a try if you're in town.

If you…read morearen't sensitive to gluten, you should definitely eat here, because the food is delicious and the service is friendly. It's a wonderful local spot. The first time we went to The Nest, it was great for me -- the server also has celiac, and clearly looked out for me -- I did not get sick. I had the Big Bacon omelet, and my husband had the Gyro -- both enormous servings and delicious. My husband and I were so excited, because we've only been able to find a handful of restaurants that actually take food allergies seriously. The second time, when I told our server I have a severe gluten allergy (because most people genuinely do not know what celiac is . . .), she nonchalantly said "ok." I ordered the Cheesy Cheese; my husband had the Breakfast Burrito. While both were delicious (my husband couldn't finish his and said it was one of the best Breakfast Burritos he's eaten!), I barely made it to the BP gas station down the road before I got sick, and I was sick for 6 days! 6 days means DIRECT contamination -- either someone put toast on my plate and then took it off, or some other form of a direct hit with wheat/rye/barley (which could be soy sauce; "food" starch," etc.) It's so frustrating. I really try to do my best and order things that should be simple -- no sauces; no dressings -- if the kitchen and server take it seriously. It isn't a dietary choice -- believe me, my life would be much easier (and much more pleasant), if I did not have this disease. Sadly, we can't go back.

Parking can be challenging, there is a very small lot in front with 2 regular spaces and 1 handicap space; plus there are several spots on the street, all of which were full. I ended up parking on the nearby side street by the Burger King. Inside the cafe there are two distinct sides, the right side is set up as a coffee shop with the service counter, some high top tables and some comfortable seating; the left side is set up as a dining area with a bar. The decor is bright and modern with some touches of whimsy, overall very nice and comfortable, the kind of place you can relax and take your time. The menu is set up with a number of categories: breakfast, paninis, salads, wraps, flatbreads, wafflesicles and drinks. Prices are reasonable and there are some interesting items. I had a certificate for $20 so I ordered the Smashed Egg Avocado Bagel, the Bang Bang Shrimp Wrap and a big Chocolate Chip Cookie. The staff was great getting the certificate redeemed and guiding me through the menu. The food came out in a very timely manner, presentation was simple and straightforward. I had plenty of food for a very nice lunch. The egg and avocado bagel was interesting, the bagel was a bit soft for my preference, it was topped with a generous spread of egg and avocado mix plus some fresh spinach leaves. A very nice and healthy breakfast sandwich, a bit milder in flavor then I prefer, but good. The shrimp wrap was a good sized flour wrap around cold cooked shrimp with shredded cabbage and a great spicy sauce that perfectly complimented the wrap. This was excellent, the cool meaty shrimp contrasting with the crunchy cabbage and the zippy creamy sauce. I would highly recommend this if you like a bit of spice. The warm cookie was a great way to finish my lunch, very soft and gooey, packed with high quality chocolate chunks. About the only issue I had with the cookie was that it was hard to eat with just my hands, I ended up using the fork for most of the cookie. Jade Owl Cafe is a great local place to grab some high quality food, pastries and drinks. It is woman and minority owned, very well thought out and executed. Noise level? Loud, but hey, it's a bar. The food? Ohhh, buckle up. I ordered a $10 burger. Seems fine... until you realize cheese is extra (because apparently dairy is a luxury item now) and it comes with no sides. Fries? That'll be another $4. And what do $4 fries look like? Picture 6 crinkle-cut sweet potato soldiers lost in a basket, sitting next to caramel dipping sauce like it's some kind of dessert tragedy. Proof in the photo -- that's not a "side of fries," that's a cry for help. And they brought the fries out a solid 10 minutes before my burger. Nothing says "romantic dinner" like watching your $4 worth of food slowly cool while waiting for your $10 burger to arrive. My boyfriend got a $3 Busch Light (hello, profit margins ) and a chicken wrap that was the size of a Taco Bell soft taco. Sure, he said it tasted good, but for $9, he'd need it to come with a foot rub and a motivational speech to make it worth it. We're young (I'm 22, he's 23), so going out is a treat. But this? This was the kind of "treat" where you wish you stayed home and microwaved a Hot Pocket instead. The waiter was sweet, and I think the owner checked on us, but I was too sad to say anything. Sad because they really think these prices match their portions. Final verdict: McDonald's would've been cheaper, tastier, and given me at least 12 fries.
