Carl and his crew repainted multiple rooms, including walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and baseboards, and the quality came out excellent. They took time with prep work, masking, protecting floors, and making sure the finish looked clean and professional. Communication was easy, pricing was fair, and they stayed organized throughout the project. If you're looking for an interior painter in San Diego who does residential painting, repainting, drywall touch-ups, and detailed finish work, I'd definitely recommend them. The house feels brighter and completely refreshed. Would hire again. -- Ren

Throughout the process, they were respectful about all the tedium and details we asked for and always made adjustments with a smile and without raising pricing on us. We went with Forever Builders, who also did some demo for us when we first moved in. Among other things, we 1) stripped and replaced the floor, 2) demoed the built-in tub and replaced it with a soaking tub, 3) replaced the vanity countertops, 4) installed a chandelier and sconces, and 5) installed a custom shower door. Steve was our project manager for the entire project, which took 3-4 weeks. We are so incredibly pleased with the result, and just as happy with the service and professionalism we received from Steve and his team. Steve managed every aspect of this complex project flawlessly, stopped by frequently to check progress and QC each phase of work, and was consistently responsive and professional. He took my calls on nights and weekends, and I always felt taken care of and valued as an important customer--such a rare occurrence these days. The craftsmanship was flawless too. I am a detail-oriented person and tend to demand perfection, and Forever Builders exceeded my expectations. As a bonus, they also installed a floating vanity for me in a secondary bathroom, as a complimentary part of the project. Since then, I have also asked Steve and Forever Builders to patch up a huge portion of ceiling drywall at my mom's house that was screwed up by another company, and they did an amazing job with that as well. You will not find a more consistently exceptional company. I'm a customer for life.

Based on that storyline, they're refusing to take responsibility for the flooring damage. The windows were installed without permits. I brought in four independent inspections, including three licensed general contractors and one home inspector. All confirmed active water intrusion and pointed to the window installation as the likely source. Despite that, Forever Builders continues to deny, redirect, and avoid addressing the actual installation. The floors never had water intrusion before the remodel. The problem started after their work. Instead of owning it and fixing it, they've chosen to argue technicalities and wait for CSLB to force the issue. For a company that promotes itself as 5-star, this has been anything but. When serious defects surface, there's no urgency, no accountability, and no effort to stand behind the work. Just excuses. That is not 5-star service. That is not what integrity looks like.

Review Update (2026)…read more I am updating my original 5-star review from a few years ago. At the time, we were very happy with our kitchen remodel and the overall experience working with Creative Design & Build. The project turned out beautifully, which is why I originally left such a positive review. Over the years, however, I noticed that one section of the flooring felt slightly soft when walking on it. At first, it did not seem serious, so we continued to live with it. Recently, the problem became worse and a section of the floor began to noticeably sink when stepped on and eventually a few edges of the flooring broke. At that point, I became concerned that it could become a safety issue. Because we still had plenty of spare flooring boards left over from the project, I attempted to replace the affected board myself. Unfortunately, I was unable to get the new board to fit correctly due to the locking system, and I could not restore the original board either. I then contacted Creative Design & Build for assistance. One reason I reached out was because our original project manager, Oded, had told us that if we ever had any issues, we should contact the company. I left a voicemail and later received a return call from a staff member. After I explained the situation, she said she would check with management and get back to me. A few days later, I received a text message stating that the warranty had expired and that no repairs would be covered. This was disappointing because I had never been informed that there was a four-year warranty period, nor was I able to find any reference to such a limitation in our contract. When I asked for details regarding the warranty and whether they could recommend someone to repair the issue, I did not receive any further response. There were two other issues relating to electrical and plumbing, however we decided to live with that until we had a major problem we needed fixing. I still appreciate the work that was done on our remodel years ago, and our kitchen remains a space we enjoy. However, I have been disappointed by the lack of follow-up and support when a problem arose. My advice to future customers is to make sure all warranty terms, coverage details, and expiration dates are clearly documented and understood before signing a contract.
