I hated everything about this company. From the very first phone call, I should have known to go to someone else for my pest control needs. The receptionist, was rude, short, and not helpful at all. It seemed that all she wanted to do was get me off the phone. The price was through the roof. The customer service was HORRENDOUS. After the treatment, the bugs were back so they did not do a thorough job there. The communication was awful. Because I was renting a floor from a home owner, they did not feel the need to communicate with me at all. I called to ask what was going on and I kept getting the run-around. The inspector was nice, but he didn't get his reports in when he said he would. All around terrible experience. GO ELSEWHERE. read more

This review could have ended much differently than it had, but BBB and their all-star employee, Angel, saved the day. I took the day off of work so that BBB could come and do a full exterior and interior inspection of my house. I was home all morning, yet somehow missed the person who came to inspect the place. He did the outside and then left a note on the door and left. I called BBB upset at the miscommunication. The person I spoke with took me seriously and called other technicians in the area to see if someone else could come out to take a look, and save me from having to use another vacation day. Angel was willing to take the time to come out and do the full interior inspection. Angel was prompt, professional, thorough, and friendly. Since we have an infant in the house he put on shoe covers in order to not track any mess, without me even having to ask! I watched him work and chatted with him as he performed the inspection, and he was able to give advice on different pests we may encounter, and how to tell if we have an issue. He spoke about different bugs and the damage they might do, and when he left, I was more knowledgable about the types of signs to look for in the future. Angel also explained the different types of services and packages that BBB offers, without putting any pressure on me to buy. I would highly recommend BBB and Angel, who was awesome. read more

About a week ago, we detected some woodpecker damage in multiple spots on our home. I got in touch with BBBS, and arranged for a free inspection. In the mean time, we also detected some critter activity in our attic (we're used to mice this time of year, but this sounded bigger). Josh Brown arrived at our house on time, and was extremely professional throughout the inspection. We first discussed the woodpecker issue for which Josh laid out all of the options (woodpeckers are a protected migratory species, so the options are somewhat limited). As we wrapped up our discussion about the woodpeckers (which are hopefully gone for the winter), I mentioned our issue in the attic. Josh quickly switched gears and began his investigation. Turns out we likely have a bat problem (they're protected, too; enjoy the stay, bats). Once Josh was done with both issues, he walked me through a number of options to consider. At no point did I feel pressured into anything, but I felt armed with all of the info I needed to address the issues. And, unlike many free inspections, it didn't feel rushed. I would definitely recommend giving BBBS a call. There's nothing to lose, and potentially everything to gain (like your home). read more

A couple of weeks ago R. L. Wilson of Big Blue Bug Solutions came to help us with some (a lot, actually) little black ants that were congregating around the kitchen sink. He was great: friendly, informative, cheerful, quick-working, and neat. He told us it might take a while for all the ants to die -- and, indeed, if we saw them within the next two weeks, not to kill them, but instead leave them to take his ant-poison back to their nests. That's just what happened: no ants for about a week, lots of ants for a couple of days (we didn't kill them!), one or two ants, mainly dead, after that. Thanks very much!! read more

I think the depends on who you get here. I used them once for an unfortunate bed bug episode after a vacation and found them to be professional and efficient. However, last year I had a wasp issue. When the guy came to give me an estimate he immediately started focusing on other issues I didn't ask him about. He even tried to convince me I had termites, which I didn't. He started wandering around my house like he owned the place with a super aggressive attitude. He then saw one of the wasps trapped in my window and talked about how awesome it was to watch them try to escape when they couldn't. My final straw was when one of my cats walked up to him and he started to torment my cat. Immediately asked him to leave and will never go back to them. read more

We called BBB when we discovered that my disabled father had bed bugs, brought in by health aides. Since he lives alone and is wheelchair-bound we asked for special help in prepping for this, but the company declined. Also, the technician showed up on the wrong day after we had prepared the house over three days. The service is overpriced for what you get - a spray and some dust - and the warranty won't help if you don't do the independent work it takes to stay bed bug free. My recommendation is to spend a lot of time researching this problem, do some DIY such as buy a steamer (which seemed to solve our problem), talk to several companies, and choose one based on their reviews and customer service acumen. read more

We have been using Big Blue Bug for about 10 years on a yearly plan and are extremely satisfied with them. Angel is our technician and he spends the time to explain what they are doing and why. He also has given fantastic advice on how to clean up and improve the house so we don't have any 'unwanted guests.' Things like taking an old suspended ceiling down in the cellar, putting screening up in the vents and clearing the area immediately adjacent to the house. This is going above and beyond. Last August 2015, I called Big Blue Bug due to a few carpenter ants seen inside and outside of the house. A representative came out immediately to assess and confirm carpenter ant treatment necessary. We made an appointment. A technician arrived on time - no issues, no fuss, no mess, warranty purchased. No ants seen again. Yesterday we removed an old deck, and some type of insect nested along the wood - still alive. GROSS. I called and explained the situation and that we hoped we could get someone out ASAP. I was given a thursday appointment - which was fine. But when I realized that we were ready to start rebuilding the deck today . . . I called and a wonderful guy agreed to come down at 4pm yesterday - Peter Smith. My hero! He explained what these insects were (not carpenter ants), he sprayed the entire area, told us to call again if a problem, and off he went. Of course, everything was covered by the fabulous Big Blue Bug warranty. So make sure you pay extra for the warranty people. :0) I used them for years when I lived in Barrington and East Greenwich. I would not use any other company. And a shout out to Pat who answered the phone. She gave me great info on the two woodpeckers ruining the front of my house.
