UPDATE: Ok...so although the employees are nice....the results are not worth the money. Big Blue Bug charges ALOT of money $$$ (Homeowners Package -3 visits and SUPPOSED free subsequent visits if needed ($525 minus $50 coupon)...without results. I have been dealing with mice for almost 2 months now and nothing more has been done then laying snap traps and glue boards that I could have bought myself for a few dollars. *Note: I have had to purchase several more traps on my own because the mice situation is so out of control. $$$ I ALSO had to buy a separate service for Blue Bug to complete a "blockout" (ANOTHER $550) which is a service guy, (Josh, who was also pleasant to deal with as the others) who is supposed to close up or seal entrances/holes into the home. Foam, caulking, and a few small wire sheets are used....yeah this didn't work either. Mice ate through the foam. That's a blockout? I still see entrances from the outside of the house near doors that have lots of mice activity. The mice literally are pulling insulation out near kickplate of door. I have had 3 visits to my home (plus the free consult) and for a service that is supposed to be a major competitor I am BEYOND disappointed. To explain how OUT OF CONTROL situation is I had refrigerator hose damage (water dispenser) which caused a flood below in the 1st floor basement bedroom. TOTAL LOSS. new carpet, insulation, ceiling tiles need replacement. $$$ Emergency plumber visit. Ate dishwasher hose which was a difficult part to find and replace and caused water damage AGAIN in basement bedroom. Another plumber visit. PLUS an appliance repair guy $$$ Chewed main stove plug which electrician needs to correct. $$$ Chewed hot water shower hose in bathroom causing flood in 1st floor basement bathroom. Another plumber visit. $$$Chewed a water main in basement wall causing a finished living room area to be destroyed $$$$ Another plumber visit. Break into wall, loss of carpeting, furniture. $$$ (YES!!!! LOTS of dollar signs everywhere to express cost!!!) There is nothing extraordinary that has been done by this company Big Blue Bug and there is NO sense of urgency. One of my calls was me in a state of hysterics because the mice had caused another water hose in the house to break even after Blue Bug did the expensive blockout. The soonest they could come out was 4 business days later and they don't seem to do late nights or be consistent with offering weekends. I have done as they asked with sealing foods in tupperwares, pet food in huge plastic tub, constant with keeping after crumbs, etc. VERY UNHAPPY!!!! Oh...before I forget...most important detail.....how many mice have been caught you may wonder? ONE !!!!! read more

We called BIG BLUE BUG SOLUTIONS in February of 2015, at a loss and frustrated that we had mice in our basement and attic, although we had been paying for YEARS for Griggs & Browne to treat our property quarterly. The previous summer we had also become overwhelmed with bees, also under treatment contract with G&B. G&B did not seem concerned with our growing issues. Upon first inspection of our property by BIG BLUE BUG SOLUTIONS I felt we finally had found a company that would take things seriously. Living in a wooded area we had always had to work to control carpenter ants; however, the bee and mouse issue was new to us but definitely not to them. We signed up for the Homeowners policy with Carpenter Ant treatment and within weeks they had things under control. They also advised us to have the foundation Block-out Treatment which seems to have worked well for us. We have had several technicians, each as professional and knowledgeable as the last. Paul V (#83) and Kay were our most recent, who checked all our bait stations and gave my husband a report of little to no activity that made our day! Due to rain Paul V advised that we call to rebook the outside spray, which we are happy to wait for since we want to get the best result. Thanks to them for suggesting that. During our first year of service we have had little to no activity of any kind of ant, bug, or critter of any kind. BIG BLUE BUG SOLUTIONS is, in our opinion, doing an upstanding job! read more

Aaron, the Big Blue Bug Solutions technician who came to conduct a homeowner's 'service call' today, just left our house, and I am quite happy (and relieved) to say that he found no pest problems inside or outside our home. The BEST part? Aaron, HIMSELF!! This was not his first service call at our 100 year-old house, and thanks to his previous visits, we attribute our current pest-free status in large part to his thorough service. However, Aaron is much more than a 'pest & bug troubleshooter;' first and foremost, he is an exemplary professional, someone whom I would call a true 'ambassador' of your company. He is polite and never makes a spectacle of himself or his work. It's as if he seamlessly AND quietly conducts his tasks without the need to interrupt whatever is going on in the household. Finally, Aaron is simply a nice, upstanding person, a rarity in this weary world, and no doubt, a STAR among your many qualified technicians. We are grateful to YOU, Big Blue Bug Solutions, for hiring Aaron in the first place, and for sending him, along with his expertise, our way. We will welcome him back at our house any time. read more

I have had the BBB for many years. The agreement is the homeowner's policy to cover a multitude of problems. For the most part the service has been ok as there was no real problems. Then the mice arrived!! For the past 3 years BBB has been trying to combat the mice issue. Well you may say why did it take so long. Let me tell you that those little guys can get through the smallest gap. If it was not for the dedication and persistence of John Buchanan I think I would still have a problem. I am keeping my fingers crossed on this but the last inspection saw no evidence of those little buggers. John has worked with me for the past year to close up the smallest of gaps around my home and garage so the little critters stay outside. John wanted the problem resolved so I could have peace of mind and my house not get ruined. John's has been very thorough. He also cares about the customer and the service he provides for BBB. I cannot say that for all the techs I have had come to my home. I trust John explicitly and now request him only for my home. Thanks John! read more

Extremely disappointed with the services, will never use this company again. Paid a lot of money to get a bat out of our house, and we were charged before any services were even rendered. After we paid, the technician looked around one room in the house for less than an hour and then told us it may still be in there or it may be gone, he didn't know, then left. Not only did they not get the bat, they couldn't even tell us if it was still there. When I called I was told that is the policy and they suggested I schedule an "inspection", which would cost even more money. I spent a lot of money and received nothing in return. All we were told was that the bat could either be in the house or could be gone, which is not helpful at all, but were still charged the same as if they had caught it. Complete waste of money, I will not use this company again. read more

A young man named Greg Goodreau made a service call to my house today. Greg was polite, knowledgeable and professional. I showed him around my home and yard. We have a contract for carpenter ants & we have seen evidence of some probable new activity. Greg sprayed the area's in our basement & crawl space and garage. He sprayed the exterior foundation area's & a tree that was going to be removed which had carpenter ants. He explained how the chemicals worked and that in 3 to 4 days the carpenter ants would be killed. He told me if we see any activity going forward not to hesitate giving him another call and he would stop back. I said he thought the spray he used today would insure many months of protection. Greg was professional, efficient & on time. Sincerely, Marshall Goldberg read more

When I found a large bald face hornet nest in my front yard, my first instinct was to contact my friend, Jeff Bialecki, who has worked for this company for years now. He was very professional and quoted me an excellent price. On the day of my service, my technician, Angel Orama, arrived promptly during the window I was given. He was very friendly, personable, and knowledgable. He worked quickly and thoroughly, and explained the process when he was through. I was very nervous about the Hornets' in my yard, and I am happy and satisfied that the issue was resolved. Angel's work very much exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, I was very pleased with my experience. I highly recommend Big Blue Bug Solutions, and will use them again if I should run into any pest control issues. read more

Thank you, Javier Munoz, for consistent care of our home and property. Thanks to the mice and termites, two years ago, we paid out of pocket over 50K in renovations, as "pests" we not covered under our homeowners policy. Big Blue Bug came out immediately after the phone call. We now have coverage under the homeowners policy, as well as mosquitos and ticks, and a termindor warranty.. Last summer we were able to spend more time outdoors because we had no mosquitos. Both our baby and dog appreciate extra protection. We have a full acre of property, and Javier, you do a conscientious job. Thanks to Blue Bug for sending out the "swat" team, when we had a huge hornet problem......only one trip was necessary...and there was no charge read more

We have used Big Blue Bug for pest control over the past 4 years. We had an intense carpenter ant and termite issue in our home. They were knowledgable, reassuring, and once you purchase the warranty, it's a very good deal to renew it. It's been 4 years since we had our first treatment and the pests have not come back! We recently had to reach out to the company again to prepare the warranty as we are selling our house. Chris was very kind, patient with our situation and advocated for the best value and next steps for our situation. We had let our warranty lapse so that was unfortunate but Chris was very helpful about letting us know our options! I highly recommend the company and was very impressed by Chris. We have had an annual plan since we purchased our house. The technicians have always been wonderful. We have had problems with mice in the past and this past Dec., it started again. Paul V #83 was our Technician and was very thorough about helping us rid our home of these pests. Paul V and Karl came out again today to do our routine check. They were both very friendly and professional. They checked on all the traps and replaced what was needed. They then continued with the rest of their routine. Paul let us know we could call at anytime and that he would most likely be our technician in the future. We certainly hope so!! We're so glad we have our plan in place! Thanks Paul and Karl. read more

A few years back, I discovered I had termites so the first place I called was Big Blue Bug. Little did I know, carpenter ants were my bigger problem. So every quarter, a technician comes out and sprays around all the structures on my property as well as the massive pine tree in my front yard where they are living. This past Friday, my technician was Kyle. I had never met Kyle before but he is just as knowledgeable and courteous as all the other techs I've met. He didn't even mind that my two beagles followed him from window to window inside the house barking like mad. I haven't had any issues from carpenter ants and I'm very pleased with my service. read more

I've used the bug for years, excellent service. Our old house was in the waterfront part of Cranston where the city rodent abatement officer lost control of the rat problem. Big Blue Bug got the problem managed in my yard, even would come pick up the rats that wandered into my yard to die or were short lived squeaky toys for my German Shepherd. Our new house had termites, carpenter ants and sugar ants. The big blue bug got those managed too. Our last tech was #41, buy that man a coffee because he was quite charming and followed directions expressly not to come in the yard without checking for the dogs first. read more

WOW! That's all I can say. Our technician, James B #53 was outstanding! We called at 4:45pm on a Thursday and James came by on his way home at 5:20pm. Took care of the yellow jacket problem we had under the shingle edge of the house and I couldn't be happier. We have a finished basement but he did everything he could to help us pinpoint where they were getting into the house and, after dusting, we now know what we have to do from the inside to get rid of the nest. Thank you, James, for being so personable and conscientious! We truly appreciate your professionalism and your candor. read more

On July 7th, Big Blue Bug send technician, Tim M. to my house in Shrewsbury to start an application to remove mice that had found their way into my house. Tim was very polite and explained exactly what he was doing and why. He pointed out where he had put the various traps and glue boards and informed me that he or another representative would be back in two weeks to check the traps and determine the extent of the problem. Tim also sprayed around the foundation to prevent insects from entering the house. I was very impressed with Tim M's professionalism and thoroughness! read more

We have had Big Blue Bug Solutions contract with Big Blue Bug Solutions for over 2 years. They come to spray every three months, and if by chance have an issue with additional insects for some reason, they come back within a day or two to take of the super nasty pests. All workers, whether on the phone when you call or the workers who come to your house, ALL very kind and courteous, few weeks ago it was Paul(#83) and Karl, very kind and efficient. Would not go with anyone else. Always on time. BTW..Love listening to Tony Dejesus every Saturday on WPRO ..very informative. read more

The Big Blue Bug guys have all been wonderful. In particular, Henry and Anthony were a great help today. They came by to check on my "rock cafes" which hold rat poison (sorry rats-but no room for you in my house!). They were caring and asked questions pertaining to my situation. They have always arrived on the earlier end of the time frame given. Not only did they take care of the job they were sent to do, but they also helped me to remove a bird nest from my gutter-free of charge! Again, very friendly guys and you can tell they are passionate about what they do. read more

I hired Big Blue Bug last year for a flying squirrels issue in my attic and was so impressed by the courtesy, politeness, customer service and quality of work provided by their different technicians that I decided to to not renew the contract I had with another company to spray the yard and house and contracted with Big Blue Bug instead. Angel (technician in Shrewsbury, where I live) has been coming a few times, most recently for a mice issue. He is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly, thorough and makes sure to follow-up. Two thumbs up really! Murielle G. read more

I have a yearly pest control contract with the Big Blue Bug Solutions. I had to call because of an increase in Ant activity both inside and outside of the house as well as the annual return of the carpenter bees. John #64 and Neil #92 come out to my home. I could not be more pleased with them. They not only were extremely pleasant but were also knowledgeable about the technical aspects of pest control. I recommend your company to anyone experiencing pest control issues. " Fast and effective treatment" should be your moto! Thank you Joh & Neil. read more

I am so glad to have Paul V. #83 as my big blue bug technician! He was very prompt, courteous, and thorough in his treatment of our pest problem. Since we have been using big blue bug solutions, we rarely ever have a problem with ants, whereas before with our former company, we were calling every season. BBBS takes a preventive approach, by making scheduled visits throughout the year. The best part is they call you, you don't have to call them! You'll never wake up in the morning to a infestation of ants like a scene out of a horror movie again! read more
