So after using the Big Blue Bug for 3 years and I am still having the same issue I called to cancelled. They put me through to a supervisor and she asks is there any issue. I said yes ...you have been coming for 3 years and I still have the problem and they keep telling me it's my fault. I have two dehumidifiers running in my basement which is air conditioned and heated. Then instead of trying to work with me or anything ...she says ok I'll cancel the contract. So after giving them nearly $1000.00 and I'm no better off then when I first called them that's all I get. So I'd say stay away and call someone else. read more

Cory and James tech #98 came to service my house at 8 am for spiders and just a general monthly spray. They were extremely professional and courteous despite being sprayed with my sprinkler system which I had felt so badly about. Nice way to start their morning but they were absolutely fine with it They explained the spraying and what they would be doing in full detail and were very personable. I would highly recommend them coming back again ! Thank you Big Blue Bug! read more

Today we had Liz Soares come out to look at our mice problem. She was extremely nice, professional and helpful...oh and patient...very patient with my millions of questions. They are now drawing up a plan to protect our home and I'm very grateful. Hopefully the mice move along...and fast!!! read more

I've used Big Blue Bug a few times in the past few years since buying my home, and I wind up thinking that they're a solid option for the area, although not without their flaws. They do respond quickly to inquiries and can usually arrange for someone to help with whatever your problem is within a timely manner. My first issue was with mice, and they were helpful with establishing traps while also realistic about my chances of success at keeping them out of an old house. My second issue was with my crawlspace, and it was there that I was disappointed - workers came to clean the space in what was supposed to take several hours, and left within 20 minutes. When an electrician went down the next day to do some much needed work, there were droppings everywhere. After protesting to Big Blue Bug, I did get a partial refund and someone came out to fix the job, but it was a disappointing development. I wind up thinking I would still use them for projects, especially as other options in the area are limited, but I would probably be a little more exacting in my expectations, and clear about what will be done. read more

These people were hired to take care of a rat problem a few years back, and they were terrible. We got a different person each week, and many times they didn't even show up and we would have to call them to remind them. One time this happened, they sent out a guy after our call, and he got out of his truck with a bug sprayer, all ready to spray our foundation for bugs. When I asked him what he was going to do, he said spray. I asked for what? He said bugs? Then I told him that we had a rat problem not bugs, and he was supposed to be checking bait stations and putting down more bait. So if I hadn't been home, either they would have billed me and not showed up at all, or billed me for bug spraying. We got rid of them. These people are very non professional and I would not have them back if the service was free. read more

Ah, the joys of renting in an old multi-unit building. New England Pest Control has efficiently and successfully dealt with two different infestations in my building. Everyone I have dealt with has been very professional and helpful, and they are great at giving you advice on how (and where) to prevent new pests from getting in. read more

Big Blue Bug Solutions is an absolutely wonderful company. While researching a bug I saw a few times in my house I stumbled across Tony's email so I sent an email asking about the pest problem (honestly, not expecting a response). The next morning I received a phone call from Tony explaining what the bug is and how to get ride of it... the best part, I don't live in the area they service so he obviously wasn't trying to sell to me, he just truly cares about people and helping them out. I have never been more impressed and thankful. If I lived in their service area I would always, always, always use Big Blue Bug Solutions. read more

Mike M #88 was on time and thorough. He caught some problem areas and advised what I can do to correct them. On top of it he told me I can get a letter from company showing the property history treatments and minimal to no pest activity. This is useful because I'm selling my house in a few months. Big thanks to Mike. read more

I live in the Edgewood section of Cranston. When we first purchased our house, there was evidence of termites. The Big Blue Bug have a competitive quote to take care of the issue, and with their reputation, I didn't want to go anywhere else! I am on a renewal policy now as there is a warranty for the original work. Javier and Wayne were the two service techs today. They were so nice, extremely knowledgeable and explained things in a very understandable manner. These guys are two more reasons I won't go anywhere else!! read more

Nathan from the Big Blue Bug came out to inspect our house from bats. He was quite thorough and was the only bat inspector that asked to come inside and look in the attic. (Which he climbed into and conducted a complete inspection). All of the other bat inspectors searched our three story Victorian for bats from the ground. If you think you might have bats, you should only think of calling the Big Blue Bug! read more

You can argue that this isn't a fair review because I've never been a customer of Big Blue Bug. However, I needed to share my experience when my neighbors received a tick and mosquito spray on their lawn. We didn't realize they were getting a treatment until it was too late. The noxious fumes from the spray entered through our open windows and literally made us ill to the point that we had to evacuate and go to a relative's house. The man spraying the lawn with a powerful sprayer was wearing a mask and my neighbors later told us that they were instructed to close their windows. Why should innocent neighbors be exposed to these toxic chemicals without warning? When I was pregnant my doctor told me to avoid pesticides and fertilizers, which can harm an unborn child and cause cancer. Come on Big Blue Bug. You are totally irresponsible. read more

We've used them once, and it was a very good experience. Mind you, our problem was pretty minor (ants). They didn't take long to schedule an appointment. Their technician, Aaron, showed up right on time (even a bit early -- helped that we were early in the AM). He was understated, which was fine, because we could go about our work while he did his -- we didn't have to stand around chatting. He left the place neat (didn't drag in a bunch of dirt on his shoes, etc.). He put in place treatments that did their job. The most important thing was that he explained what we should expect. This was important because the ants didn't behave quite as we would have expected, but because he'd carefully walked us through the process, we didn't worry (and call them unnecessarily). Eventually, the problem subsided in just the way we had described. That made Aaron's handling really professional and one that some other technicians might overlook. Their advertising is goofy, but you've got to admit it works: they're the first exterminator that comes to mind around here. I was concerned that a company that prominent might be shoddy on their job, and I was pleased that their technician seemed to care about doing his job well. Admittedly, our 5* doesn't mean that much given that our issue was minor -- any shop should have been able to handle it competently. Still, they did, which is what counts. read more

Lou S. did a very thorough review and service at my house. He was even quiet for my sleeping baby!

We had Matt D. (#82) come by today to check for mice in the basement. He was super thorough, checking nooks and crannies, and looking for the tiniest spots outside that might let them in. read more

"wow, this one of the worst houses I've ever seen," said the technician who looked at the first home my husband I bought in which we realized did have a pest problem. Not something we really wanted to hear, but BBB has been easy to reach, nice to talk to and helpful. It was even easy to get them to come out the second time (which was no cost under our contract) when we still saw some critters after the first treatment. Overall, great experience! Our cost was about $1000 for a 3-story, multi-unit home that had some major pest issues (german cockroaches, mice and rats). Disgusting, I know, but we are good now!! read more

We signed up for the annual plan and have been very happy! They even told me I can call anytime and they'll come kill a spider if that's what I need! We have them come quarterly to spray our yard and house. We have had no issues with ants (reason we started) or any other pest since they started. Will Manseau is our technician and he's very friendly and thorough. They even call ahead to make sure the date and time work for you every time they come. We will definitely be continuing our plan. We're very happy! read more

Kyle was great, courteous and addressed all of our concerns.

UPDATE: Big Blue Bug called and immediately rectified the situation. The VP himself spoke to my mother and took care of everything. She and I are now very happy with the follow up and customer service that was provided. It is great to see the VP making personal phone calls to make things right. THANK YOU! read more

Kyle was great. Nice and helpful and explained what he was doing and why. We've always had great service with Big Blue Bug.

Greg #79 came to my residence to treat for carpenter ants. Not only did he do a fantastic job, he asked me where I saw the most pest traffic and custom tailored the treatment by adding special a dust to the garage area. He did an excellent job telling me how the treatment worked and even treated a nearby hornet's nest that I was unaware of. I'm glad I have the warranty with these guys because they do an excellent job! Super professional and knowledgeable, always happy to answer my questions. These guys don't just spray and run, they know their bugs! :-) read more

Big Blue Bug has serviced my home for years and I have always been 100% satisfied. My last technician R.L. Was on time, introduced himself, and addressed the problem at hand. I've had a service contract for about five years now and they are always prompt in their inspections to prevent repeat problems. Would highly recommend them. read more

Technician 30 (Licker) discovered squirrels in our attic about a month ago. He was great--very knowledgeable, sympathetic, and helpful. (Also discovered a dead bat in the basement). Since then, various technicians have come 3x per week to set traps, monitor activity, and remove squirrels. Each technician is amazing. They climb a tall exterior ladder up 2 1/2 stories, they deal with the problem, and they are very personable. Technicians include Mr. Licker (#30), Mr. Saucier (41), Brown (86), and Rich (77). Most have come more than 3 times. In addition to the M W F scheduled visits, Joshua Brown #86 came today after I called to say I heard the trap close. He came quickly, and he was very professional. Thank you to all the technicians. Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon. read more

Great job by Matt D #82 today. He explained everything well and told me what to expect. Very professional.

A fantastic guy came out to treat a big yellow jacket infestation. I was surprised that it was so much money for less than two minutes, but pleased with the results. The tech was really nice and knowledgeable. Bugs were gone after two days...but a week later they are back about four feet away from the treatment area. We have to pay again for treatment. I was hoping there'd be some sort of discount for the same bugs. Just beware, they might remove a nest but they can't/won't/or don't actually get rid of the bugs (I guess unless you fork out the $200 each week). read more

Josh W. came to address an ant issue we were having. He was super helpful, professional and polite. Most importantly, he accommodated my concerns about using pesticides in the house with my cats. He also was really responsive, addressed all my questions, and was really knowledgeable re: ant behavior. He followed up a few weeks later to make sure our ant problem was solved! read more

Eh. Weird experience... never knew when techs are coming, which I don't really get... seemed like they were doing things I easily could've done myself, have the same issue a month after they leave. Plus expensive! read more

I have been this company for 10 years now and am very pleased. It does depend on who is servicing your home but most of the guys who have come here to check baits etc have been very good and pretty thorough. Angel was the best - I must say. He was conscientious, thorough, took his time to look beyond the bait inspection and replacement and provided education and knowledge. Kyle came here for the first time today and did a fine job - efficient and also inspected the attic which had not been done in more than a year or 2. Thank you Kyle. read more

I am very happy with service from Big Blue Bug. My mom had a very large pest problem. The person who came to help her was Paul #83. He is very knowledgeable, quick, and explains everything he is doing. Most of all he is very kind. My mom is elderly, a little hard of hearing, and he was very patient and kind to her. We have had a few techs come out, but he is the best you have. Will always come back to this company if Paul is the one coming out to the house. The pest issue seems to be solved at this time, thanks to Paul read more

I always have a good experience with the technicians at BBB. Today RL Wilson came out. He was courteous and listened to my pest control concerns. He also puts on shoe covers which is a nice, respectful way to keep our floors clean! I feel confident in their services and will continue to rely on them for keeping out mice, bugs, etc. read more

We have been using this company for over 30 years and I have never had a complaint. Called this morning because I have bees getting into the bedroom. I had a problem with mice in the attic and Big Blue Bug responded almost immediately. The technician (Matt D. #82) was very informative and polite. He took charge and scheduled follow-up appointments for me. I would highly recommend this company and you would be lucky to have Matt show up. read more

I hated everything about this company. From the very first phone call, I should have known to go to someone else for my pest control needs. The receptionist, was rude, short, and not helpful at all. It seemed that all she wanted to do was get me off the phone. The price was through the roof. The customer service was HORRENDOUS. After the treatment, the bugs were back so they did not do a thorough job there. The communication was awful. Because I was renting a floor from a home owner, they did not feel the need to communicate with me at all. I called to ask what was going on and I kept getting the run-around. The inspector was nice, but he didn't get his reports in when he said he would. All around terrible experience. GO ELSEWHERE. read more

Big Blue Bug sent us Paul V. #83 and he was great! Paul was courteous and got back to us with information about an unusual bug that appeared in our kitchen(it was a good bug to have as it eats other bugs!). We hope to have Paul V. Come back in March to do outside maintenance. read more

This review could have ended much differently than it had, but BBB and their all-star employee, Angel, saved the day. I took the day off of work so that BBB could come and do a full exterior and interior inspection of my house. I was home all morning, yet somehow missed the person who came to inspect the place. He did the outside and then left a note on the door and left. I called BBB upset at the miscommunication. The person I spoke with took me seriously and called other technicians in the area to see if someone else could come out to take a look, and save me from having to use another vacation day. Angel was willing to take the time to come out and do the full interior inspection. Angel was prompt, professional, thorough, and friendly. Since we have an infant in the house he put on shoe covers in order to not track any mess, without me even having to ask! I watched him work and chatted with him as he performed the inspection, and he was able to give advice on different pests we may encounter, and how to tell if we have an issue. He spoke about different bugs and the damage they might do, and when he left, I was more knowledgable about the types of signs to look for in the future. Angel also explained the different types of services and packages that BBB offers, without putting any pressure on me to buy. I would highly recommend BBB and Angel, who was awesome. read more
