DO NOT BOOK Big Ben Transportation for your wedding or any major event. My experience with them was frustrating from start to finish, and on the day of our wedding, their lack of organization caused unnecessary chaos for us and our guests. We reached out in late June to book two 55-person shuttles for our October wedding. The original quote was straightforward ($1,800 per bus, $3,600 total, with a $500 deposit). However, after signing, they never actually processed our deposit. I had to reach out repeatedly by phone and email just to verify that our reservation was actually secured. A week before the wedding, they sent a new invoice with unexpected mandatory tip and toll fees tagged on. We were originally told driver gratuity would be cash at our discretion based on service quality, so having a required tip forced onto the invoice right before the event felt like a bait-and-switch. Things got worse on the actual wedding day. While I was getting ready, one of the drivers called me, completely confused about the pickup schedule and unaware that the two buses had separate departure times. He didn't have the other driver's contact information or a radio to communicate with him. Because of their lack of coordination, several of our guests were left behind and had to order Ubers to the venue. The end of the night was an even bigger failure. Our contract explicitly stated that the shuttles would make a stop at a local bar for our after-party, which was directly on the route to the hotel and less than a minute away, and that one bus would do a second loop to pick up remaining guests. Instead, both drivers completely bypassed the after-party stop and refused to turn around or go back for the second trip. Myself, my partner, and a huge chunk of our guests were stranded at the venue and forced to scramble for Ubers at the end of our wedding night. They eventually refunded around $1,000, but that essentially just wiped out the surprise "tip" they forced onto us and a fraction of the fare. A partial refund doesn't make up for leaving a bride, groom, and their guests stranded after being paid thousands of dollars. Save yourself the headache and go with a company that actually honors its contracts. read more

Big Ben! I rarely write reviews - only if the service is exceptional! I used Big Ben to get from Queens to Montauk, NY for my best friend's bachelorette party (MOH duties) on a Friday night. The limo sprinter is the vehicle we used to go there. It was VERY classy, clean, and up-to-date. The bridesmaids kept complimenting how it was the best limo they have ever been on. The executive sprinter was our ride back from Montauk, NY to Queens. Very comfortable especially after a weekend of partying. What stood out to me was the quality of service throughout the whole entire transaction. Big Ben promptly answered my inquiry, drafted up the proposal, and answered my monthly phone calls to ensure me the reservation was booked (I like to follow up on things excessively.) Both limo drivers (Fernando and Olim) were such gentlemen! Fernando stopped a few times for us to use the restroom on our way up to Montauk. Olim offered us movies to watch while we were on our way home. On top of that - both drivers were at the pickup point early and texted that they were there. Both helped load the limos. I found this transportation company via Yelp. I don't know if I got a Yelp discount, but the price was very good compared with other business I compared with. This is keeping in mind the executive 28 passenger shuttle bus I hired was VERY VERY nice. Hardwood floors, brand new very luxurious seats. chargers, awesome looking blue lighting inside. This was worth the extra price versus hiring a regular old shuttle bus of the same size. Ben was very easy to work with and helpful with any questions I had. My staff and I of 20 people had such a blast especially because they included a free champaign bottle once we mentioned it was a holiday party. I planned a surprised birthday excursion to the Far Rockaway for my boyfriend and it was a huge success because of Big Ben. Both Mr. Carlos and Mr. Ricardo arrived on time on both trips and were respectful, accommodating, and professional. Being a retired MTA driver (25 yrs), and knowing the laws of the city, no BUS should have the engine running from 7:30am-9:50am ( shut off for 5 minutes), a bus should not be parked in a double parking spot and NOT be disrespectful to another passenger vehicle when they ask him to move up so they can park. Being disrespectful by closing the window in his face and the face of the camp director who hired this company. It doesn't say too much about how the owner of the company interviews or hire their drivers. You should ask yourself, does he have a valid CDL license??? read more

don't use this broker for shipping vehicles i wanted to ship two vehicles i was quoted $2200 for both i was called three days before pick up for deposit of $290 don sent the truck over to pick up the vehicles and the driver said $3500 extra dollars i was quoted $2200 we argued and he tried to call big ben of course to no avail the driver left and called later and said he would do it for $3000 witch was to high from what i was quoted i got both hauled for $1700 now he won't re turn my deposit of $290 he is not worth doing business with. read more

Every summer I organize a golf outing with 20 of my college buddies and for the past 2 years, we have used Big Ben Transportation to shuttle us to and from the course. The scheduling of the bus could not have been easier and the prices are reasonable. Chico was our driver the first year and he was so great that we requested that he was our driver this year as well. Chico was punctual with the NYC pickup and patient while I wrangled up all the guys. He is a very safe and qualified driver. He allowed us to play our tunes on the radio and let us have an awesome time. Everything was done quickly and without complications. I love that I was able to do everything via e-mail without any issue. I'm a retired MTA driver who worked 25 yrs and every year I had to go through an updated rules and regulations. This morning while parking in front of a pool club I had a very unusual incident with a driver from Go Big Ben Co. As I was pulling into a parking spot that held "2" vehicles, the bus driver started backing up. First thing is that he wasn't supposed to be there, next when confronted by me he rolled down the window and then closed it quickly in my face. When the camp director went over to talk to him, the driver also closed the window in his face too. Besides that incident, the bus had the engine running from 7:30am -9:50am. He shut the bus off for 5 minutes when his dispatcher called. The law states: No idling for more than I'm just wondering with a bad attitude, does he have a proper CDL license??? Before anyone rents from this company, I would question the knowledge of the driver. Good luck to anyone who uses this company!!
