I'm sitting in one of these chinatown small buses as I type this review. These buses are a life…read moresaver. They save me the hassle of having to take the mta and stop at every train station on the n to then transfer on the 7 just to get to flushing. It takes me 1.5 hours with mta but with these buses it only takes me around 40 mins give or take depending on the traffic. Not to mention I'm sitting in a comfy seat and don't have to deal with external issues. As of July 2021, I pay $5 one way. Using a rideshare app or calling car service would have costed me well over $40. The bus caters to the Chinese immigrant community that usually travels back and forth from the 3 different chinatowns (Brooklyn 8th ave, Manhattan chinatown, flushing queens) either for work, run errands or meet up with family. It gives the people mobility with comfort and it's community centered. If you are not Chinese it's still ok. Once you get to know the system that's in place you'll never want to take public transportation again.

I had to pay more for my next bus and that too at an inconvenient time and on top of that, BestBus does not have a basic decency to cover the expense of the new bus trip I booked, instead I was refunded the original amount as if they don't care about you what happens to you after they cancelled the trip. Save yourself some unexpected headache and don't book this bus.

What I mean by that is that they have a sense of entitlement where they think they can take up 2 seats and not let their fellow passengers sit down next to them. Definitely better than the subway though. I often times will take the BM4 or BM1 even though it's not that convenient and drops me off quite a distance from my apartment. The trade-off is my fellow passengers are much more considerate, and overall it's a much more pleasant ride.

On the way back though, Washington Deluxe definitely redeemed itself. Quick check-in process, driver (SJ?) took our bags. The engine started at 9:57, and we took off at 10. He made some quick announcements with good humor: wi-fi, outlets under the seat, told us to be courteous to our neighbors, and made me happy to be riding with him. This man should get a raise. :)

I want to share my experience I had today with the Monsey bus…read more I'm waiting by the stop for the bus, waiting and waiting for a half hour, till finally my eyes met a bus arriving to the stop, I give a closer look, and it gets dark for my eyes, on the screen above the bus, there's announced "BORO PARK/WILLIAMSBURG". That means that they literally sent one bus for both locations in a busy time Thursday night when everyone is looking for a way home, and there's NOBODY to talk to !!! No space for luggage. No space to sit. And the driver ?? Sitting in his seat with a smile and telling us that there's only that bus. "If you want you could wait for the next bus". (Not that it's the drivers fault at all, just that was the response. No excuse.) I'm going up on the bus, shticky hot like no option to breathe. Like 10 people are standing (!!!) In the aisle where there's supposed to be empty. Full of luggage on the floor. The smell on the bus was terrible. I wouldn't recommend that smell even for anyone's toilet at home. A horrible smell ! Sorry to tell you! At all not a good service if you want to be on a bus, arriving on time, a seat to sit, space for your luggage. That's besides the cool attitude you're getting from the dispatcher.
