I can't believe it's been five years since my last visit! This is still the best way to get to Manhattan. Easy too! I called a couple days before arrival, was told to call as soon as we were ready to leave JFK, and when I did that, I was given a car number and a description. Upon arrival, the driver, Winston, called me and said what kind of car to look for. On the ride to JFK, Mr. Tran, picked us up in front of our hotel, and drove us safely to the airport. You have the choice to engage with the drivers or not. They will not bother you if you are talking, so the drive is nice. The price is reasonable and it's cash only. Made a phone reservation a few days in advance, provided my flight number, and called Quick Ride after picking up my luggage. The driver came in a Lincoln Towncar w/ the extended wheelbase which had an excellent amount of legroom. The transmission was on its last legs as shifts were very jerky... Very good. The woman who answered was very responsive. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is because the car was not clearly marked. I was walked back and forth at the designated spot at the airport. All I was told was that was a black car with the number 80 and that it would have a quick trip sign. When the driver pulled up, he held up a sign with the number 80. I will probably try them again for an at-home pickup. read more

Awful customer service. On the return trip home I told the driver there would be a slight deviation from the original plan. Instead of heading straight to Orchard Street, there would be two stops - first one in Midtown (to drop off my friend) then the Orchard Street stop. The driver drove very aggressively and weirdly kept arguing with us, saying that he wanted to take the W'burg bridge. We told him multiple times that there was no traffic on the midtown tunnel, and that we wanted to use the tunnel. He took the tunnel as requested and dropped off my friend. Then, after he dropped off my friend, he told me that the price has now gone up to $50 from the original $30. Huh? That is a drastic price gouging increase! Even if the driver had to pay an extra toll -- which he did not tell us by the way -- there's no way it should cost me $20 extra dollars just to drop off a friend in midtown. If he had told me that at the beginning, I would have agreed to use the W'burg bridge and made my friend take a separate cab solo up to midtown. I cannot understand why he deceived me like that. He told me to call the office, which I did, and I found that they were also very shady. I paid the $50 and even tipped the driver an extra $10, but this was a very bad experience because of terrible customer service. Total bait and switch. The driver should have made it clear at the beginning that our route was going to cost a lot more money. read more

CANCELS ON YOU AT LAST MINUTE!! Car service that cancels your airport pickup reservation at the last minute after a 3 1/2 hour flight delay. I even called to let them know the flight was delayed when we were finally about to take off. They acknowledged that they knew since they had my flight info the entire time. My 8pm arrival ended up landing at 11:30pm today. I get a text at 11:01pm saying "..sorry we don't have a car to pick you up". What kind of people do that to a family with a 1 year old baby that has already had a horrible travel experience? They offer no explanation and just said they were just passing along the message as their shift started. Why do airport reservations if you can't guarantee a pickup? You can also be screwed if you use them. Plenty of other options out there, you shouldn't have to take the risk of using Quick Ride NYC. read more

It's about the same as to the airport, but you don't have fear of getting fleeced. This is esp true if you're going to Newark. Within Manhattan, they can be competitive to Uber. If you know your timing, I'd book them or at least call for a quote. They don't give any attitude about waiting too long. Payment: I always assume it's cash only. Just make sure you call and confirm if you aren't paying cash. Drivers: I like the drivers a lot. They always are pretty chill and don't go crazy about minor things that might happen along the way. Also, they have typically with the company for some time. You don't get a lot of beginner drivers who will argue with you when you are 100% certain they are going the wrong way. read more

I received a confirmation with them and everything seemed okay until the morning of my flight when they called to tell me that there are no more cars available. They didn't offer any compensation or alternatives but just told me that there was a problem with one of their drivers' cars. I've been using this company for car service for almost 10 years. Just finished booking a trip with them to JFK and realized that I have never given them a review! I first used this car service to commute between Lower Manhattan to Greenwich, Connecticut for work every weekend for two years (my boss offered me the free rides, so why not?). I was always picked up on time. The cars were clean and the drivers were always polite. The drivers always waited for me to finish work before getting me back into the city safely. One time, we were stuck in a snowstorm on the way home and I had the loveliest conversation in Cantonese with the driver. Took us hours to drive back into the city, but he got me back! THEY FORGOT TO PICK ME UP... AFTER A FRIGGIN RED EYE!!!! I called when I arrived at Newark as normal, and the lady gasped and said, "Oh, it's earlier than we expected." I asked what she meant and she said the passenger before me changed their pick-up to 5-10 minutes later, so they wouldn't be able to pick me up for another 30 minutes. It made no sense. If another customer requested a change that would clearly create an issue for other booked customers, why agree to accommodate it? I booked this car far in advance and they didn't even bother to call me to let me know there would be an issue - or offer any other alternative arrangements. Found them on Yelp and was hesitant at first but the reviews convinced me to try them out. From JFK-Flushing, we got Xiang and his van. Got us there fast but was unfamiliar with our hotel and the one-way streets so had to take extra turns. Otherwise service was fast, Xiang was friendly and apologetic for the extra driving time. We got Chi as our second driver from Flushing to Pier38, and another ride from Flushing to Penn Station. Both rides were superb, he was very careful and courteous. Car was super clean! This car service is great! Always on time, and you get a courtesy call both from their shop and a text from the driver that they are either on their way or waiting outside. I call back near the time they said they would call, which they didn't. The girl tells me that they didn't take down my phone number. Called two days before for transport from Hotel to JFK and they were very nice on the phone and gave me a quote. I called earlier same day for pick up to confirm and they were very friendly and confirmed the address, time, and location of pickup. They were on time and called me when they got there and told me what type of car it was and the number of the car which was helpful to find. The driver helped with my luggage and was very friendly and even offered to slow down when driving so I could take pics off the bridge. He drove safely and got to the airport on time and took me right to my terminal entrance. Having been dissapointed with Carmel and annoyed at long lines at the cab stop at JFK, I did a quick search and found this on yelp via google search. $36 was quoted (included Toll and tax etc) from Financial District to JFK. Took them both to and from the Airport. They were early and even when my flight was delayed on the way back, they had no issues and were great service 100%. Drivers were friendly and easy going and were good at just quick small talk and were fine if we didn't want to have a conversation considering I was coming back from 25 hours of travel time from Asia. First time used them. I reserved round trips from LGA to Our hotel. When you make reservation, they go by your phone number instead of your name which I thought as efficient. Both of the drivers had a nice clean cars( Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander), smooth rides. They drove safely which I really appreciated of since I have two kids under 13. Both of the drivers hardly said words which was fine with me as long as we felt safe in the car. One draw back is they only take cash, but it is worth paying in cash when you think about the lower cost, clean spacious cars, safe drivers. My sister ended up using this company, and said their driver was pretty friendly and safe driver. I would use them again when I come to NYC. Scheduling a ride was really quick and easy. The dispatch operator will provide a cash price (cash only) for the ride and at the time of pickup, will call you with the vehicle information. The vehicles are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The drivers are courteous and very helpful with luggage. Don't forget to show your appreciation with a tip. I usually call a day before to schedule the ride but they have also been reliable and on time when I've called them an hour before boarding my flight for last minute arrangements. Picking up from the airport, the driver was already on the premises but due to airport congestion that was out of his control, I had to wait a little bit. The prices are easily 20% or so lower than other services or cab/uber. Cars are always clean and drivers courteous. And dispatch is very efficient. Super speedy! Decided at the last minute I wanted to cab it to LGA the morning of my flight, and as luck would have it, a car was available for my requested pick-up time in just 30 min. VERY fast and friendly phone operator and driver. The operator called me to let me know my car (labeled w/ a #), was downstairs 10 min early. I didn't see it when I got downstairs, so either they were late, or they drove off because I was. Either way, I only had to call and the car was there 2 minutes later. It was a clean, black Honda SUV with leather seating that new car smell. Aaaaand it got me to the airport in HALF the estimated time calculated via HopStop, and at just 75% of regular fare. Win!! Quick Ride is definitely a great find in the world of airport transportation. Since I'd read up on Yelper reviews, the brevity of my reservation call didn't surprise me at all. The only reason why this isn't a 5-star review is that we were about 30-40 minutes late getting picked up when we arrived in New Jersey. When I called them back as instructed to let them know we have our bags, the girl told me she would call me back and let me know where the driver was. When she called back, I was informed that my driver was involved in a car accident and that they're sending out another car and it would take 30 minutes. Bummer! However, when we got picked up by another person (towncar), he wasn't aware of any car accidents and that they told him just a few minutes ago he had to pick up us. When he realized what we were told, he quickly tried to cover up and plead ignorance. Our driver was super friendly and tried to make as much conversation as our sleep-addled brains would allow (this was at 7am). On our return trip, also to NJ, our driver was 5 minutes early, had a nice clean and spacious minivan and insisted on handling all the luggage by himself. He too was very talkative, giving us a mini-tour speech of the portion of NJ we were speeding by to get to the airport. We encountered almost no traffic and arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare. This will for sure be a staple in our phone books! The price is right too! read more

Used Quick Ride to get into the City from EWR on my most recent trip. They quoted me $48 + tolls over the phone which seemed to be pretty good. We had some trouble finding him as he only had a tiny sign on the passenger window - most of the other car services had big signs on the front window which are easier to see. Also, they don't ask for your name -- just your phone # so we had to look for him instead of him looking for us which was a smidge annoying. Also, our driver was very nice but spoke very little English which was a bit of a bummer as my friend had never been to NYC and was asking questions about things which he couldn't answer cuz of his limited English. All in all it was fine though.. clean car, good driving, and price was reasonable. I'd use them again if it was just me but might be better off to pay a little more if it's your first trip to the City. I know the drivers aren't tour guides but it is nicer when you can communicate with them. read more

I booked a car to take me to Newark Int'l Airport and then a pickup on the return flight from LaGuardia. Booking was easy - just call the number and give them the details. Pricing was clearly disclosed and rates are cheaper than using Uber/Lyft/Juno etc and much cheaper than other car services. Pickup was on time and the car was nice and clean. The driver was safe and efficient and helped load the luggage in the car. Pickup on the return flight was a bit slower as we had to wait about 10 minutes for the driver to arrive but the rest of the ride was fine. Although I have to admit I was a bit uncomfortable not having a email confirmation of my trip order it all worked out in the end. I will use them again for other similar trips. read more

These are my peeps, Cantonese speaking drivers that provide quick and efficient shuttle service for us to and back to JFK. Their service is $20-25 cheaper than taking the Taxi or calling other shuttle services, while still providing just as good as the service. At the pick up trip I called them about 2 week ahead to reserve a car for pick up from JFK, got picked up at Passenger Pick Up Zone C by a new Toyota Highlander. The driver was waving a sign "Quick Ride" you won't missed them. On our return trip, we were picked up from Park Hyatt Hotel near Central park by a older Lincoln Towncar, and due to traffic in the city, the driver took all these alternate route to get to JFK asap. $45 + toll + tip, so very good deal. I would call them again if I needed pick up in NY. read more
