Delicious sandwiches with pickup made super easy through their online ordering. I was able to park about 50 feet away from the shop and just run in and pickup, having paid online. Quick and easy and the sandwiches were great! read more

Great spot to get breakfast before you get your day going. We stopped by here for breakfast every morning before our hikes. Great spot!

The place is very small but the portions are very big! For food place in Vail village the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this place for a quick and simple meal. read more

We came here twice for breakfast since we loved it so much. The breakfast sandwich had a buttery homemade biscuit filled with scrambled eggs, bacon, and cheese. The second visit we came for a parfait which was quite a generous portion. Overall, they do not overprice their menu and their food/coffee is tasty. Fast casual concept, order at counter and they will bring it to their outdoor patio or delivery it while your seated indoor. read more

Breakfast burrito took over 45 minutes. It's fine if you're moving slow and have lots of orders to fulfill, just maybe give folks a heads up when it's gonna take that long. read more

Craved a solid sandwich during a day visit to Vail. Big Bear Bistro came through with a tasty Turkey option nicknamed "The Phoenix". Enjoyed the sandwich outside on a perfect 80-degree summer day. Can't ask for more. read more

We had: Phoenix turkey sandwich, big bear salad, French toast, strawberry and chocolate crepe. We very much enjoyed our food and experience sitting by the River. Crepe was not the best, all else was 5 star flavor. read more

The coolest little cafe in vail. I went there 3 times over the course of the week, once for breakfast and twice for apres/ lunch. Everything was awesome and the staff were so friendly! read more

If you are ordering to go, check your food. I've been coming here since I was little and I have always loved it. But it seems like just recently the people that are employed here don't care about their customer service. It's a bummer because I feel like it's changed over the last year. They forget to add items in the order and then blame the customer for not checking. Among other little issues here and there. The food is always good, but I think a place without customer service is doomed. read more

Get the masterpiece, bc it sure was one My friend got the arugula salad which was also v good. Sat outside which had heating lamps- was a perfect afternoon! read more

Not a lot of options for breakfast in Vail. But you can see a line every morning here. DaVinci bagel is really good, with smoked salmon, capers and cream cheese...toasted it to golden brown... But breakfast burrito was fine. read more

The breakfast food here must be the best in town, since this place was packed! We came in right before a wave of snowboarders/skiers came in. The only downside, not a lot of seating options inside (very limited), first come, first serve. There was seating options outside, but it's too cold haha. Oat milk is available as an alternative option when purchasing drinks. The banana/nutella crepe and french toast were what we ordered and they were amazing. I would definitely come back here and recommend the french toast dish hands down. read more

Very average sandwich shop in Vail. I guess for Vail, these $14 sandwiches are considered cheap - but they were just so "blah" - soft white bread, minimal turkey, sweet basil pesto lacked any real flavor. The line was long. service slow, and it was so hot inside. read more

Best sandwich I've ever had. I think they make the bread in house. I got the masterpiece and it's just that... a masterpiece. We were lucky and didn't go when it was peak time. Safe to say I'll be back. read more

I've seen all the positive reviews for this restaurant and I completely understand the current circumstance. That said, I had the worst omelette/breakfast experience of my adult life here a few days ago. I had a ham and cheddar omelette. The cheddar wasn't melted all the way (you know how it kind of barely gets orange? THAT!), all the ham sat in a huge pile that burst out of the middle of this creation (think when the snake ate the elephant in The Little Prince), and the toast was shriveled in the corner of a chipped plate that was thrown in front of me like someone would serve orphan Annie in the exaggerated musical. Please keep strolling past when you see this eatery. read more

I was super excited to try this place as walking by the sandwiches looked amazing and was happy to see they also had gluten-free + vegan options. Unfortunately was very disappointed. They gave us the smallest gluten free bread I have ever seen, all of the filling was falling out of our sandwiches. Definitely not worth the $35 spent on two sandwiches. read more

Quick service American breakfast for 4 this morning. Fresh eggs, omelettes and huge pancakes. I mean- they were huge. Service at the counter was very pleasant and the food was prepared quickly despite a small crowd, with the exception of the pancakes. But once we saw their size, we understood. My husband and two kids went in after a long drive, hungry and tired. Three employees passed right by us and ignored us. I finally said "hi, is this where we order?" And the young gal answered with a curt "yes". She was so cold and rude the whole time we ordered. The food was good but the service was very bad. They need to work on their customer service. read more

We stopped in for a quick smoothie to go. We sat down to drank part of it and left. My wife picked up the empty straw wrapper to try to throw it away on the way out. Not seeing a trash can she placed it at an empty table not yet bussed which had the remains of a sandwich wrapped in a napkin. About 10 feet outside the door an employee came up from behind and told my wife in front of other guests that, "Our tables are not trash cans"! It was one straw wrapper that she picked up trying to clean the table at which we sat. Evidently the attitude of management is that it is ok to make a big effort to make sure customers feel like they really screwed up. An employee in their 20's chastised an almost 60 year old woman over a straw wrapper rather than cleaning the table. We would think that our tip to the nice woman at the register would have covered this slight mistake. read more

This is a small place with a few tables outside and about 10 tables inside. There is a free water jug inside and restrooms. I ordered the club sandwich and a sprite. My friends both ordered the breakfast burrito. My sandwich was really good. The meats were moist and greens were fresh. They made it on a ciabatta bun, which was also really good. No chips or fries included. The burrito was bland and the bottom was really tough, like it was sitting on the grill too long. Service was fast and friendly. Prices were on the higher end. read more

cute spot! i had the mo, gluten free and i added roasted red peppers, arugula and avocado. unfortunately the bread on the bottom got really soggy but i just took it off and made it an open faced sandwich. food maybe took ~20 minutes to come out. definitely stop by for a quick breakfast/sandwich lunch read more

Maybe they should call it Small Bear Bistro? Trying to imagine a large bear squeezing into this tiny cramped restaurant is about the funniest image I can fathom at the moment, but that's the only levity I can muster to hide my overwhelming annoyance of Big Bear Bistro. I can understand if you're in New York City; there are plenty of these hole-in-the-wall breakfast places that are all slightly shabby yet offer exemplary food by reputation, however, in Vail Village it's a bit more of an enigma. The first thing I want to mention is the line to order runs right by the bathroom. That's the last thing people want to smell, the lavatory door swinging open revealing pungent odors while you're about to get a coffee. There are ten menus all chalked out in tiny writing adorning the walls above the tables, so good luck standing around reading those all day and not inconveniencing the patrons that are dining inside. I ordered a breakfast burrito and the person I was with ordered "The Alex". We then went to sit outside and all of the outdoor tables were dirty. When we requested that someone bus one of the tables outside, the staff member just went and removed some plates and didn't even wipe away any of the crumbs. After a short wait they brought our breakfast out to us and then gave us unwrapped silverware which was dumped onto our table. They could've easily just handed it to us, but dropping it on our grimy table was their mode of operation. The burrito was terrible! I had about three rubbery bites and decided this was a loss. "The Alex" came with toast that wasn't toasted and burnt potatoes. Around this time is when I noticed a couple leaving behind their barely eaten plates while a bird landed and start eating their leftovers. I don't think it was impressed either because it didn't stick around for long. The only redeemable thing during this whole outing was tasting their cappuccino which was foamy and flavorful! I'm just sad I didn't order one for myself. read more

We were in Vail for a long weekend. We were looking for a good breakfast spot and found Big Bear Bistro. Nice little place right by the water. Also fairly reasonable compared to the resorts. It was so good that we went back again. I recommend checking it out! read more

Food was amazing. You could tell they were understaffed so food took awhile to come out but tasted great.

Super yummy breakfast spot, but have to agree service is pretty slow. So yes go, but don't go if you're in a hurry.

Very long wait. 50 minutes. Food was ok but nothing special. Expensive but it is Vail...Our order was pushed back to fill lunch orders. We should have done something else. read more

Best breakfast in Vail! Although not just for breakfast, this quaint bistro offers both indoor and outdoor seating right in Vail Village. Super slow especially for a cold cut sandwich. The least they could do is inform you of the wait time. The people working also seem to have zero sense of urgency. It takes longer to get your lunch than going to a full service sit down restaurant. read more
