Horrible horrible experience. It was our first time there and the last. Our Food was served cold (eggs); it was tasteless and without and seasoning; we had to ask the bus boy for coffee refill cause our waitress was not to be found and he simply ignored our request. Our Waitess never came to check on us until after 30 minutes when she brought our bill. The portion of french fries was small; cold and overpriced. Overall the food was blah and service below poor. This food ruined my morning. We ordered skillets to go why do they give you these huge "breakfast" potato chunks like they do in seafood boils? Like I've never went for breakfast and had such big chunks.. in an egg skillet. Usually they are diced into the cute little cubes this is almost comical. The spinach was like in a large clump, they put avocado when I said no avocado, those hash cake things? Disgusting flavor and texture wise idk how this place has certain reviews idk wtf they were eating. The place lacks seasoning & proper kitchen etiquette I include photos to show how non dramatic I'm being. My food was literally in a watery mess which I'm pretty sure was due to not draining the spinach and mushrooms, what kitchen staff doesn't know how to make a damn fried egg with veggies?? Such a simple meal that cost too much with no flavor.. at all, so disappointing. $40 literally wasted we had to go get an actual breakfast elsewhere due to the lack of everything here just don't waste your time or money. read more

It's always been very good here. My go to is one of their omelettes, the pork sausage and a biscuit. Recently had their potatoes with onions, which also were excellent. Prices seem high, but isn't that true everywhere these days. read more

The food was really good and decent size for the price. Our server was nice but wasn't as attentive as I would have liked. They weren't that busy so it wasn't clear why that happened. It's a nice spot for breakfast though. read more

We ordered kind of simple breakfast with biscuits. I would say I've had better biscuits out of the freezer. We ended up getting wheat toast. I kept having to ask servers and other people walking around to refill my coffee to bring me cream . waitress was not very attentive. The overall ambience of the place is really cool with the shirts of the Service wearing and just very very neatly done. Want to put a lot of time and expense into this place without any doubt. read more

Service is horrible they take your money, give you the wrong order and don't try to accommodate you for their mix up and the mangers attitude is horrible over the phone when trying to get help. read more

Big bad breakfast was a good vibe. The chicken was the star of the show, very crispy and seasoned. Tomato gravy was not something I'd typically choose but there was pork in the other gravy, not my style. I used syrup for my biscuit instead. The chicken and waffles very tasty, we did have to request regular syrup as they typically come with molasses syrup which is too thick in my opinion. Quick service brunch and not too much of a crowd. Will make sure to return to try more gems! read more

We ate at BBB when visiting from Florida. It was amazing! The server was friendly and remembered all five of our orders. The prices were in line with the quality of the food. Great place to end one family event and head to the next read more

Probably the worst underwhelming breakfast I've had in a long time. This was my first time eating there and I would never eat there again. I had their biscuits and gravy. The sauce was very thick and had a cheesy taste to it. In addition to the food the drinks were bad too. I ordered a mimosa and it was very sour not good at all. However, the service was decent. read more

We really enjoyed breakfast here! We ordered a burrito with vegan sausage, a pancake, creole omelet without andouille, breakfast dude drink with vodka, cold brew, and kahlua, and a screwdriver. The omelet was too salty but the tomato gravy helped cut that. The servers were friendly and attentive. There's quite a bit space indoors with booths, tables, and a bar and a few seats outside. I would definitely return to try something else. The prices weren't too expensive either. read more

"Breakfast and some lunch food on Erwin Road right off Duke's West Campus" Came here for lunch on a Friday with some colleagues. This is the site of the old "Another Broken Egg" cafe, and it seems like the theme was basically retained-- this venue is only open for breakfast and lunch, and is mostly breakfast foods. The venue is bright and airy, though some of the decor was a little odd (like the giant artsy poster that said "LARD"). I think they're still working out some of the kinks on timing/ flow, or maybe they were short-staffed-- we arrived and waited by the door for almost 5 minutes until I finally flagged someone down and asked if we should seat ourselves. The person seemed surprised that no one was up front seating folks. I ordered the "screamin' demon" fried chicken breast sandwich, and others at my table had some of the skillets or the avocado toast. It took a surprisingly long time to get the food (for a breakfast/ lunch place)-- almost 30 minutes. But the good news was the sandwich was quite good, albeit a tiny bit smaller than I had expected. The taste of the ingredients blended in an excellent way, and it was piping hot (temperature). For the side, I got the crispy hash cake, which was two large hashbrowns, and they were delicious. Everyone in my party seemed happy with their scrambles or avocado toast-- many of them didn't even finish their dishes and had leftovers for later. Our server was good on checking on us and refilling waters, too. The price was fair-- not cheap, but not "very high". I confess I was nervous that their menu online didn't have prices-- ha ha. I think the fried chicken breast sandwich with one side was around $15. Yes, more expensive than fast food, but around what one might pay at a sit-down sandwich or burger place for the same. I would have loved the fresh orange juice, but the $6 price was a bit steep. Overall, it was good-- I'd go back, and maybe try some of the breakfast dishes if earlier in the day. read more

Bad Breakfast in Durham was outstanding! The service was top-notch--our wait staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly knew both the menu and the local area. The food was absolutely delicious and brought me right back to my childhood breakfast table. Every bite felt comforting and fulfilling. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Durham. If you're looking for a good, solid country breakfast at a reasonable price with genuine Southern hospitality, this is the place! Thank you to the physical therapist-in-training ( forgot her name) for an excellent dining experience. read more

I really loved the food here! We tried the creole omlet, which came with an incredible tomato gravy that tasted like a creamy tomato soup, and the Belgian waffle with spicy bacon added. Came here so excited to see BBB had come to Durham. I'd been to different locations in Mississippi and SC but this one is now the closest one for me. The service was great, we had kind staff! I was disappointed by the food. I ordered the Mother of biscuits which I've had before when I went to the Charleston location. They first made it with American cheese when it is supposed to come with cheddar so I had to send it back. The second one they sent out definitely wasn't as pretty as the first, I unfortunately didn't get a picture to compare the 2. Some aspects of it were good but the sandwich was overpowered by the chicken because it was so over seasoned. I'm glad I had it before coming here or else I don't think I'd consider coming back to BBB. My boyfriend had the pancakes and bacon. He liked the bacon wasn't taken aback by the pancakes. I think because this location is still pretty new maybe that played a factor behind the quality of food but I do hope they improve soon. read more

Elmo's, when it comes to omelettes, you've met your match. Headed to Elmo's for a later breakfast and it was an out-the-door wait. After a quick breakfast search we found BBB and saw the reviews. Off we went. The first thing that struck us is that this delightful restaurant is much bigger than it appears from the outside. Yes, they were busy but we were just a party of two so we were seated right away. Immediately greeted by a lovely young woman, Leah. From beginning to end she was terrific. Attentive but not hovering and conversational. She helped make our experience delightful. The ambiance and decor is calm. Now, the food. One of the best omelettes I've ever had. I'm not sure what kind of ham they use but it's delicious. Asking for light cheese can be very subjective. But they pulled it off perfectly. The mushrooms and spinach I added were wonderfully fresh and sautéed. Even the coffee was something special. They call it their "Crankshaft" blend. I took a cup to go it was that good. My wife had the Big Bad Skillet which she enjoyed very much. Too much for one sitting so she took some home. This was a grand surprise and looking forward to going back an exploring the menu further. By the way, the history of the restaurant is quite impressive. I mean James Beard impressive emanating from New Orleans. read more

The food is delicious. Clean and nicely decorated. The servers are kind and professional. The food looked the pics on yelp. NICE.

We sat for 15 minutes, and no one ever came to take our order. We watched servers talk to the bartender and laugh and joke, but no one even came to ask us for a drink order. We left, and they said, "Have a good day!" AVOID because the WORKERS DO NOT WANT TO WORK! First time and LAST TIME! Way to win new business! read more

This was ok, but definitely chain restaurant quality. I had the eggs benedict--the sauce was super rich but not that tasty. It came on toast instead of an English muffin.
