I have gotten sandwiches a few times from this spot, but each time I find the same thing: I don't like their bread. The ciabatta is crackly and hurts my mouth. The focaccia is just so much bread for a sandwich. Often I find my sandwich is just dry and not as flavorful as I'd expect for a spot that seems to be innovative and thoughtful about their rotating sandwiches. Every time, I read the description of the sandwich and think it'll be great, but every time I'm disappointed. It's dry and bland. I'd rather spend my money on food I enjoy, which is a bummer because I'd rather support local businesses, but I'd say save your money for Jimmy John's or Jersey Mikes.... But who knows, maybe I'm just not ordering the right thing.

I can't speak to anyone else's food (too busy visiting) but everything looked very tasty. They have a liver and onion special on Thursday night which one of my uncles enjoyed. Another family member ordered the broasted chicken which he said is his go-to here and it looked delicious. I have to address the service. Outstanding! Our server, Floyd, couldn't have been more gracious, friendly, helpful, funny, etc. What a wonderful experience thanks in large part to Floyd who was fantastic. Highly recommend if you haven't been!

Black Pig was such a great find, and everything we tried was packed with flavor. We started with the White Truffle & Black Pepper Bacon Fries, because regular fries simply weren't invited. The truffle and black pepper added so much flavor, and these were the perfect way to kick things off. Next up was the Shellfish Rangoon, filled with crab, scallop, and shrimp and topped with tahini-cabbage slaw and pineapple sweet & sour. The combination of flavors was unexpected but worked so well. Then came the Black Pig Cheeseburger, an 8 oz Niman Ranch USDA All-Natural Prime Beef burger with Hooks 1-year aged cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a house-made brioche bun. The burger was flavorful, juicy, and satisfying. I finished with the Endless Rhubarb Summer mocktail, made with rhubarb shrub, lime, simple syrup, ginger ale, and dehydrated lime. They have some creative options and nice drinks on the menu. So there are some positives... However, every time I dine here it takes a very long time to receive your food and check out. I understand a bit of a wait when it is busy, and that on weekends you can expect a longer wait for your food. I'm just shocked for how many servers are running around that things take so long or at the very least they aren't on top of refilling drinks and checking in while the food is made. Their kitchen is very small so I'm sure that contributes greatly to the wait time, but again, the service doesn't make up for it. Then top it off with my main dish being cold and a bit soggy, the price range is just a slap in the face at the end.
