I've lived near this Big Apple Bagels location for years, always noticing how busy it stays, and I finally had the perfect excuse to stop in: my aunt and uncle just moved closer to me. Since my family is from New York, the name "Big Apple" felt like a sign -- and while I know Florida water isn't giving true NYC bagel energy, I figured it might come close. The apple pie muffin had real baked apple slices and cinnamon -- truly homemade. My family called me afterward saying the bagels were "out of this world," and even my cousin's son (who doesn't like muffins!) loved his chocolate chip one. The woman who helped me was wonderful -- patient, friendly, and guided me through their most popular items. She even gave me a discount, which was so kind. Always such a great experience and the food/coffee never misses! This morning's trip was a little less elaborate than normal, we were tired and had other errands unfortunately so just a Swiss melt bagel with cheddar jalapeño cream cheese and the sausage southern tradition in a jalapeño bagel for us. This also have bagel dogs, other breakfast/lunch sandwiches, coffee and their giant muffins are so delicious (esp warmed up)! Your reward for making it through the outlet traffic, is getting to this place... west of that busy area, after SR 56 becomes SR 54. It sits in a more peaceful setting, in a little strip mall, nestled in trees. The parking lot is busy-and you'll need to watch for reserved spots, for other businesses, but it's workable... even on a busy morning like my recent visit, around 9am on a Monday. The joint was jumping... with a large work crew arriving at the same time as me (they kindly let me go ahead, since they were all on one tab). There's a large menu here. I usually start with a sesame bagel on a first visit. I did that here-and at the last moment, I tacked on a Swiss melt bagel. Ohhh, I'm so glad I did! The sesame was so underwhelming, I feared this was a one and done visit for me. I didn't finish it. The Swiss melt won me right back! This was a whole new bagel flavor profile for me and I'm so glad I tried it! I will definitely go back when I'm in the area and check out more of the menu. There's a cozy and clean dining area inside and some outdoor tables that would be very pleasant on cooler days. The staff was running like a well-oiled machine. My salt bagel was completely covered in fine salt and the top was nearly inedible--I've never seen so much salt and have no idea why they don't do it like a pretzel. Didnt want to order online so I went in, placed order and waited while people who came after me got their food. When I asked how long the owner/manager said the other patrons were here before, had to remind her that that was wrong since they paid after me. This morning, my mom and I were in the mood for a bagel and decided that it would be a Big Apple bagel day! We placed an order online (super easy) and selected the 6 bagels we wanted to order along with cream cheese. When we picked up the bagels, they were sliced and ready to go. The entire staff...especially the woman who runs the register, has the WORST attitude. No smiles from anyone...ever. I wanted to place a large order and, while on THEIR website, something told me to call only to find out if delivery was actually offered (it was on their website). "Miss Congeniality" herself confirmed that their website doesn't work and they don't delivery...again contrary to said website. When I asked to place the order through her over the phone, I was told she had a line of people and I was handed off to someone else who, so eloquently (I'm joking)...asked "What do you want?" Bagels in Tampa. So far my experiences have left me horribly disappointed or surprisingly impressed. This place however falls into neither category. Plenty of workers inside as well as seating options. There's a case of sweets as soon as you walk in. Good variety of bagels even near closing. I like the variety of the daily specials. I love the quality of the bagels, very soft, chewy, and fresh! They offer 50% bagels the last hour they're open so stock up and freeze them for the week ahead of you. The plain cream cheese was a little sour for my taste. The flavored ones are much more palatable. The lack of seasoning on any of the food was borderline criminal. Breakfast sandwiches were so bland even the delicious bagel couldn't save it. I would say get the bagels from here and make your own sandwiches at home with them or add some ketchup or hot sauce maybe. read more

Been craving a good bagel for the last week or two, decided to try this company and I was not disappointed. The bagel was fresh, the cream cheese was very flavorful, the bacon good and veggies fresh. I got a BLT Cheddar Herb bagel with olive & basil cream cheese. Iced coffee and a 3 pack of the mini muffins. The coffee is good, not too strong and the French vanilla syrup added a great flavor and sweetness. The muffins were very good, fresh and full of flavor. I got the cinnamon crunch (2) and a double chocolate. The chocolate was deep and rich, but the cinnamon was my favorite!!! I took a chance on this place thru door dash and it is now in my favorites. My husband and sister absolutely loved the everything bagel with their Southern Tradition. They had it both days. I had the Breakfast Ranchero the first day & I loved it. So good & Not too spicy. The second day I had the breakfast BLT with onion cream cheese. The cream cheese was so good. It made my bagel! We can't say enough good things. The smoothies are great, coffee is good. Definitely a must try. Oh! The muffins! We got hooked on the bagels but don't let that make you think their muffins aren't good because they were. Brought my mom out to lunch and we had the turkey BLT on an egg bagel. Very good. I had their dark mountain coffee spot on and tasty. We got the bagel deal which was one dozen bagels and a half pound of cream cheese, your choice from sweet to savory. Inside plenty of tables to sit including very comfortable booths. It was a busy shop lots of activity bagels, being baked constantly while we were there. Plenty of parking in the front a good place to visit for coffee and sandwiches. I've been in search of a new bagel place. Reviews for this place seemed good, so I thought I'd give it a try. The staff are extremely kind and knowledgeable. The store itself, clean and stocked with bagels when I arrived. I ordered a couple of bagels and a blueberry muffin. The blueberry muffin was large and full of blueberries. It was delicious! The bagels on the other hand were nothing near NYC bagels. They lacked an outer hardness and an interior softness that are what make a NY bagel a bagel. These bagels were also skinny in width. NY bagels are fat and full of volume with a much smaller hole in the center. These left little bang for your buck. If you want a great blueberry muffin, this is the place. However, if you are from the northeast...in my opinion unfortunately you will not find your NYesque bagel here. read more

The bagels are great. The toppings are very good and plenty for two. It's more counter and pickup service. Tables are inside and outside with enough seating for small parties. A friendly atmosphere where conversations can overflow. The price is a bit higher, but it is worth the visit. I believe this restaurant deserves a 4 star. read more
