I've noticed this trend at my gym, lately, that really irks. The people who walk around with shirts…read morethat say something along the lines of "Beast Mode never stops", "The gym is my happy hour" or "Wake up. Workout. Eat. Sleep. Repeat." I have two basic messages for these people: A) Sucks to be you and B) No you don't. Don't even try to play that. You eat bacon and binge Netflix and don't even pretend like you'd rather be at the gym. Getting older sucks, bruh. It's no fun. The Fight Shop is for the type of people who don't wear it, they straight up live this mindset, they don't need to put it on a shirt. You know the type. When they workout they wear helmets and mouthguards and they grapple other gristled rats, they're obsessed with the whole mixed martial arts thing and they endure crippling injuries that they can't treat because they can't afford health insurance. If you're one of these people, go to the Fight Shop. They got your gear. They have some supplements that probably aren't good for you, but it's healthier than meth. And they represent New Mexico, with Caveman products and Breaking Bad inspired stuff because, you know, that's mandatory.

I looked into their website to get an idea of prices for my 5 year old's cleats. They have options for used and new, as low as $8! Very affordable. Upon arrival, their door was open. The inside is very spacious and right away we were greeted. I asked for help since it was our first time. The attendant immediately took us to a corner with all of the junior cleats. They had limited sizing, but thankfully my daughter found a good fit. They didn't have half sizes, but was assured a snug fit was necessary. We happened to get a new cleat and it was $20, much cheaper than Walmart (~$28). They didn't have junior mouth guards, but was recommended to Walmart. Overall, great customer service. The attendant helped her fit in the cleats and gave his professional opinion on how they should fit, etc. We were in and out within 10-15 min. They also have rewards, which I opted in. Also, I will most likely come back to sell back the shoes once she grows out of them.

He said yes and held it for me. I was very happy because it was the only one they had and he did let me know that they go quick. I know of three Big 5 locations in Albuquerque, and I'm fairly confident this is the smallest. It still offers all of the goods (and not-so-goods) I've come to expect from this retailer. My words of Big 5 advice for the consumer win: + I know some of those shoes look like a bargain, but not so fast. Every boot, sandle and sneaker I've ever purchased from this company has suffered a mystery malfunction within weeks. Cracked soles, missing eyelets, frayed laces. Weird. + Same goes for the clothing. Strange design decisions like shallow pockets, poor stitching and uncomfortable materials have taught me to avoid active gear altogether. + Big 5 is your go-to for big brand names at fair prices, particularly camping gear and sporting goods. If it has a recognizable name and it's on sale, it's probably a wise buy. My latest wins: a sun shade for the Rio Grande beach (because Covid), a pingpong table (because Covid), dart board (because Covid) and fishing rod (because Covid).
