I consider this outlet, which is somewhat expansive (one sprawling floor) the go-between when it comes to Big 5 (really cheap and unapologetically foreign made) and REI (way too expensive and wanna-be local, but still foreign-based). For our family's needs they don't offer anything (not that I saw, anyway) for the small kiddo's; youth is somewhat represented, but this is mainly for the older, self-motivated home athlete. Prices are precisely mid-range, and there aren't many sales, save a few clearance racks. For Coronado Mall, er, Center, it offers the best selection around.

She went in knowing she wanted to try some Hoka's but didnt really know which ones to choose from. The sales rep spent a good amount out time with her talking through the various options. He measured her foot, analyzed the way she walked in each pair and didn't try to pressure her. She ultimately settled on Hoka Arahi's which she absolutely loves. I walked away with a new running shirt and know I'll be coming back when I'm ready for my next pair of running shoes.

But, the store is full of an impressive stock of inventory for your sporting needs. Today, I stopped by the shop to get a water bottle cage. I had a remaining balance on a gift card to use. I found the cage. I also looked at a pair of biking glasses as I am in the market for some. The glasses where right next to the register with a few employees. I asked if I could take the transition lenses outside to try them. The took off the security device so I could do so. I opted not to get the glasses today, but I might get them in the near future. There was some trouble getting my gift card balance applied, but that was resolved and my purchased was complete. I read several Yelp reviews from customers complaining about the employees ignoring customers. I have to address this. Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel the need to be acknowledged when I'm in a store. If I need someone, I will flag them down. They have always been kind, courteous, and respectful to me over the course of my patronage, bike shop and store.

These two businesses are the perfect example of polar opposites. Fleet Feet is trash in all aspects. Poor staff, weak selection, and a horrible atmosphere. When comparing them to the staff and products sold by Heart and Sole I am shocked that Heart and Swole has any form of competition with them. I will be coming back to Heart and Sole for any of my running needs. I have a group of people getting ready for a police academy and I am sending them over ASAP. I looked around at a few stores, but when I entered The North Face in Uptown shopping mall In albuquerque I found the perfect pair! The store was organized, neat and clean even though it was very busy. Jill the co-manager of the store assisted me in finding the shoe in the right size, color and style I needed. Jill went far and above to make my experience memorable and one I will remember. I am still from a generation that LOVES to shop "in-store" Jill is one of the reasons I enjoy "experience shopping" in a store instead of online. naturally I wear a size 11 and if I shopped online would have bought an 11, however I am glad there is a store where I found the right shoe size of 10.5 instead I will return here to make many more purchases in the future at North Face instead of REI, Cabellas, Eddie Bauer etc...the quality of my shoes and the friendly helpfulness of the employees was unforgettable. Then, within like 10 minutes, two more employees came up and it felt way overbearing, not in a friendly way but more like they were just watching me or expecting me to do something weird. So yeah, it was kind of uncomfortable to shop there. Just a heads up if you're looking for a chill browsing experience--this wasn't it.
