Great experience as always. Have been here a few times, used to live in the area and everytime we visit, this is a stop for a new hat to support local business. The staff are always friendly and know their stuff, love to help find something for you. This time I got a couple straw cowboy hats for my toddler and myself. read more

What a great hat experience. I had an outdoor event this evening and was in a bind because my Tilly hiking hat and Chicago Cubs baseball cap were non starters #GoCubsGo First and only stop was the Man's Hat Shop. One and only salesman (a.k.a. Fitter) was J.W. Enough said. He was great and the hat was a huge success! read more

Absolutely fabulous service and customer care from Stuart and the other fine gentlemen that work there. It's awesome to have a specialty store for all my hat needs! Although they didn't have a burgundy color I was originally looking for, I walked out with a gorgeous navy one! I wish it was this easy shopping for clothes as it was to find a good hat here! Awesome experience and awesome hats! :) read more

Great hat selection but what gets the five stars is the staff & service. Both staff members were extremely friendly and assisted me with getting a hat before a flight out. Next time we come to Albuquerque, we'll say hello! read more

Great hats, wonderful service! The best place in town for a man's hat. I bought a Stetson which was custom shaped for my head to perfection. Yahoo, buddy! read more

This place is solidly and inarguably AMAZING. It is AMAZING. I can't even believe there are so few reviews. I would've thought the cat would be completely out of the bag on this place. Their selection is great and super high quality. They've been in business over 70 years, they are incredibly knowledgeable and absolutely fun. I went in with a friend who's visiting from out of town (a man). He got a really nice cowboy hat and they shaped it to the style he chose. This is where I learned of the different style of creases and bends in a cowboy hat and what the different styles are called. They took it in the back and did that while we waited. My friend (the man) also bought another hat and they really took their time, explained everything about all the hats and made sure he got the very best one for him. If I remember correctly they also resized and cleaned his white Stetson. I was wearing a felt hat that had some creases in it from when I was moving and it got squashed a little. They took it in the back and tried to steam out the creases which I greatly appreciated. They didn't even charge me. I just wanted to mention, they have all kinds of hats, not just western gear. I'm particularly referring to their gorgeous and very very reasonably priced top hats (in various hights). This is definitely the place you want to go for a hat, especially if you're a man. I wish they sold ladies' hats too (but there are the top hats.) read more

A truly professional experience. These guys know what they are doing and take hat fitting and sales very seriously. A top notch shop!

What a wonderful store with wonderful people working in it. Very professional super polite and nice. I never felt this comfortable in a store. Highly recommend if you need a hat! Went out with a beautiful Stetson silverbelly and I will be back for more! read more

With a birthday coming up and having been told I need to be more careful in the sun now that I'm all grey, we stopped in during a Thanksgiving visit to Albuquerque. First this is a really interesting store. I've never seen so many hats! If you can't find a hat here then you can't find a hat! I've never been a hat guy and these gentlemen didn't try to sell me. They let the hat sell itself. My wife bought me a Stetson Stratoliner with a silver and turquoise band for my birthday. A few adjustments and the fit is perfect. I can't recommend The Man's Hat Shop and these guys more highly. read more

This is a wonderful shop! Every hat you need and an owner with expertise! Thanks Rich - much appreciated!

What a hidden gem this place is. I was in town for a wedding and stumbled on this store, as I needed a hat for the wedding. J.W and Stuart were warm and welcoming, and spent the time with me to choose the right hat that fit me perfectly according to what I wanted. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and the service that was provided, and when I am back in town I will 1000% be coming back. Thanks everyone!!!! read more

Fantastic!! They actually make some hats here, as well have many varieties, and hard to find sizes such as XXL and 7 3/4 -8. This place is a blast from the past, with customer service that brings you back to a time when things were made locally and products were stood behind. This will be where I will take visiting friends looking for an object to shelter them from the intense NM sun, and or a souvenir. A staff on hand makes rattlesnake cowboy hats -for your rancher or rocker that has everything. They have the rattle attached to the brim and may be used to instill fear into the hearts of men. Or wig people out walking around the city. Though to activate the rattle you may have to shake as if you suffered from Parkinsons. The tooling and construction is of expert quality. The panama style cowboy hat selection is superior to anywhere else I have seen in town. read more

If you need a hat that reflects your personality and not just an off the shelf hat, this is the place! See Stewart and he will form, cut and shape a hat to your head. This is a hat shop, not a clothing store that also sells hats. If your serious about what goes on your head then this is the place to go. read more

The Man's Hat Shop - Hats Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Awesome old school hat shop. Beautiful hats and excellent service. No website here, just old fashioned try it on, discuss, refit, discuss. So many choices. Expert fitting. They ship your hat home if needed and also perform reshaping and repairs. Bill Sisk was the person who helped my husband purchase a super cool Stetson Hat. We had it shipped to NY and even resized and shaped. He was the salesperson who helped Johnny Depp who stopped in for 2 hours and even helped them sell some hats while he was there after he purchased a couple of hats. read more

Apprehension. Nervousness. Excitement. Those words can summarize my initial feelings entering this famed cowboy hat store. What's this East coast bloke doing in a cowboy hat store?! I was out of my element but felt compelled to explore these grounds of butch and masculinity. There are thousands upon thousands of hats of nearly every kind here; from caps to fedoras to western straw hats. If you want it, you can probably find it here (or they'll design one it for ya!). This is a complete custom hat shop. The staff is extremely knowledgeable on all their merchandise and will definitely give you blunt, honest opinions on what works and what doesn't. For example, I was trying on this cowboy hat with a huge crown when Stuart, one of the owners, comes up to me: Stuart: So what you do think? Me: I'm not so sure, it's kinda big. What do you think? Stuart: Listen son, you wanna be attracting the ladies, not scaring them off. Me: Noted. Thanks to the fantastic help of Stuart, I was able to get past all my preconceived stereotypes and intimidation and find a few hats I really felt comfortable in and managed not to break the bank. Although I will say to all you western hat novices: the sticker prices for several of these hats can and probably will floor you. But as the old cliche goes, you get what you pay for. And here at the Men's Hat Shop, you're getting the whole experience. read more

The Men at Man's Hat Shop are a trip. Two dudes just hanging out, surrounded by thousands of hats. I forget their names, of course, but they make the "shopping experience" a ton of fun. It probably helped that I went in with my cute sister. I was looking for a cowboy hat to protect my lily-white skin from the harsh New Mexican sun, and this place, just downtown on Central, looked too quaint and old-town USA to be true. Well, it's as it seems. A total throwback. These guys have the entire floor filled with different kinds of cowboy hats, and the wall festooned with bowlers, fedoras, porkpies, and funny old man golf hats, to name a few. A haven for hipsters and cowboys alike. While we were in there shopping, what looked like a ska band came in and they all bought groovy little porkpie hats. The hat guys advised me on style, size, and then shaped my modest cowboy hat for me (they also have a huge range in prices, from budget to what-the- hell level), and added a rodeo strap as well. The strap cost almost as much as the hat but hey, it's practical. Other services they offer are cleaning and re-shaping. I love these guys. I'll be back when I can afford another hat. One of the Hat Men even gave me the name of a manicurist when he heard me telling my sis I needed a manicure. How's that for service? read more

I was curious one day to check out their stock and when I walked in, I immediately took myself for a very fun adventure looking at every type of hat you could imagine. I purchased my first ball cap from them and I've loved it. I also went back a second time for another ball cap of the same brand and they had it in stock. Their prices are perfect, and they have a hat for every shape and size. This is a great place for hat collectors and people who are tired of the same baseball team (logo) caps. Thank you guys so much and I'll be shopping there more often than not! read more

Very friendly, great selection. I am more than happy with my experience. I stopped here for a new summer travel hat and was overwhelmed by the great selection. The service was impeccable and we found a good quality hat that would wouldn't break the budget. I can't believe how much I enjoyed this shop and the experience of finding a new hat. I can't recommend this place more. I loved it. I also love my new Panama Hat. read more

I stopped in the other day to get a traveling hat. Bill helped me pick out exactly what I was looking for. He asked me how I wanted it to look and took me around the shop to pick out the style. Stopped by after being in town for a little over a month. What a great group of people. I was greeted by Bill who helped me get a couple great hats. I have a huge head and have had some trouble finding hats at other hat stores. They found a hat with the color I wanted, we talked about the style and within about 20 minutes I had 2 fresh hats that had been blocked and styled to my liking. If there's a reason I'm coming back to Albuquerque, It's going to be to visit this shop! read more

I buy all of my work hats from this place. Great service & affordable hats.

I have been going here for my hats since 2006. The guys at the shop are the best in the business. It doesn't matter what kind of hat you need they can custom fit and shape it. It's definitely a place you will send your friends to because they sell great products and they are very friendly. I usually just drop by to talk when I'm in the area. read more

Had been by this shop many times and each I swore I'd make it in to check out a new hat. Ana and I took a day to ride the bike DT, eat some sushi and see a movie, and since were were late we walked down to the Hat Shop. These guys are so nice! My did went by for a hat and then my husband and I also stopped by and picked up a hat each - great all wool made in America hats by Stetson and Bally. Our heads were all toasty warm for more snowy adventures around New Mexico. They even let our well behaved pup who we were traveling with into the store with us while we shopped which I thought was an extra nice consideration. New to New Mexico's intense sun I needed a hat that would provide the necessary protection but with a comfort and style that would fit my needs. I found the perfect hat shop that provided highly professional service, courtesy, knowledge and skill. I cannot express my gratitude to the staff. I had never been fitted before for a hat. The owner simply looked at me and knew the correct hat size all the while explaining how hats should fit and be worn. I felt as though I had stepped back in time where personalized service was the norm for excellent service. I bought myself a Panama Straw hat and the very next day took the wife there and bought her a 6X (beaver - rabbit fur blend) Stetson. They customized it while we waited and she absolutely loves her new hat! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience of learning about hats, your help and the wonderful experience of visiting your shop. read more

"Having read a lot of good about this shop and it's two owners, I was adamant to go visit them on our recent NM trip. Although we literally ran inside the store door at 5:29pm (they close at 5:30pm) they were totally service minded and not only turned the lights on again in the shop, but had no rush or hurry to get us out. Tried on several hats and both my husband and I walked out less than 20 min later with a great summer hat on our heads. Would go there again next time in Albuquerque." read more
