Are you a super fan of Breaking Bad? Then you must visit the Breaking Bad gift shop in Old Town Albuquerque. Breaking Bad is one of the greatest TV series of all time starring Bryan Cranston and Anna Gunn (my huge crush!). The BB store has every novelty you can think of from magnets to socks to parking signs. There's also a museum ($5 admission) containing original props from the movie. We wouldn't call ourselves die-hard Breaking Bad fans, but we definitely loved the show. The Breaking Bad Store is such a fun stop, filled with all kinds of souvenirs and gifts like magnets, postcards, t-shirts, keychains, pet items, and even chemistry lab containers! What we enjoyed most, though, was the museum area, which has a separate admission of just $5 per person. Inside, you'll find actual costumes worn on the show, autographs, Saul's office setup, Hector's iconic wheelchair, and even the chickens from Los Pollos Hermanos. You can also pose for photos wearing the apron and hat! It felt like a mini Comic-Con experience, but without the lines. There's even a guestbook where visitors from all over the world have signed, and we noticed that Bryan Cranston himself stopped by not too long ago. If you're a fan of The Breaking Bad show, you must visit this store in Albuquerque, NM. It's located in Old Town which has a slew of other shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and a couple of wine tasting rooms so you won't be wasting your time. There is street parking as well as a pay-by-the-hour lot within walking distance. When I moved to Southern California over ten years ago, so many moronic people of all ethnicities kept confusing my being born & raised in New Mexico for Mexico. "Oh, wow, you speak good English." Uh huh... What I really wanted to say back was, "Is this just a genetic thing with you? Is it congenital? Did your, did your mother drop you on your head when you were a baby?" That's a Walter White quote. Instead, I started saying, "Have you ever watched Breaking Bad?..." *head nodding yes* or sometimes an escastic response *oh hell yeah, I love that show!* "Okay, well, I'm from that state." I always shocked at how awesome everyone thought it was. I didn't purchase anything. I just wanted to take a walk on the wild side. There was all kinds of gift items - even for your canines. Next door, through the gift shop, was the museum. It's small like the gift shop. Very interesting if you appreciated that show even in the slightest. Friendly, welcoming service when they aren't bombarded with fans asking too many questions. Lol. Thanks for putting New Mexico on the tourist map as a destination where Americans' passports are not necessary. After all, we've been a state for 111 years. The 47th state of the Union. read more

When in New Mexico, checking out the breaking bad film sites and specifically the themed store is a must do! The breaking bad store was the highlight of my trip to old town in Albuquerque. They had so many awesome souvenirs and cute themed shirts. I got a cool south park t shirt and an Los Pollos Hermanos shot glass. I am at a loss for words. Having seen Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, but as somebody who is not a die-hard fan (a fan, for sure. Great shows!), I had low expectations. We drove past the store on our way to Old Town and I was like 'Oh, cool. A Breaking Bad store - should we check it out?' thinking it would be just a kitschy little tourist trap. This place is anything but. Walking in the front door I see a bunch of stuff for sale and and I'm like 'cool' but then you see it. The museum. I didn't know there was a museum! Oh my - this museum was INCREDIBLE...plus it's free! They even ENCOURAGE you to engage in photo ops. This museum was one of my favorite parts about our trip to Albuquerque, honestly. They had clothes that the actors wore, props, pictures, set-ups for photo ops (e.g. sit at Saul's desk, put on an apron and visor and pretend to work at the chicken shop). I could have spent hours in there and, again, I just watched the show and am not a die-hard but was geeking out. Come here if you're a die-hard fan, come here if you've seen the show(s), or just come here to see how much love, hard work, and care people can put into their passion and something that brings them joy. Welcome to Disneyland for Breaking Bad fans! My sons were SO excited and even said "this is our version of Disneyland!" The lady at the counter was SO nice and talked to us about the store and stars who come to sign autographs. Lots of great photo opportunities with real movie props in the back room. In the tourist trap that is Old Town Albuquerque, the Breaking Bad Store is a welcome break from the cookie-cutter plastic trinkets and dried chili bundles that hang in every single shop window that caters to sightseers. This store has all things Breaking Bad, including original pieces by local artists (stained glass Heisenberg suncatchers, homemade candles that read "Science, Bitch," and more), toys, t-shirts, artwork, bath fizzies, posters, ornaments, kitchenware, socks, blue rock candy, jewelry...if it has a Breaking Bad theme, you'll find it here. This is a must-stop for any and all fans of the cult television show. The prices are on the higher side, so come prepared to pay $2 to $5 more for the same item that you can find on Amazon. I'm sure the rent is high in this area of ABQ, and it's important to support independent businesses right now. My husband bought a LWYRUP mask that had the print of Saul's license plate on it ($15) and an American Samoa Law School t-shirt ($26). I wanted to buy one of the large original art pieces that featured spray paint portraits of the characters on old license plates, but they weren't for sale. Boo! What's even cooler about the store is that there are all sorts of rad photo ops for fans. Out front, there's a bus bench with a Better Call Saul lawyer ad and inside, you can put on a Los Pollos Hermanos apron and hat and take your pic behind the "counter," sit in a wheelchair like Hector, and pose with other recreations of show sets. There's even a super cool shrine to Walter White in the back. Friendly, nerdy employees and cool merch. If you love Breaking Bad, just go. You will NOT regret it. read more

Oh wow! This store was so much more than I had imagined! I loved it. Every piece in the store had detail from the series, and all of the memorabilia from the show was really special. The lady behind the counter was extremely nice and offered up a conversation about the show to which we geeked out for several minutes. She gave us a brief spiel about the how the owners got started, being inspired by the Walking Dead store in Atlanta which I'd love to check out. The ambiance was great with a BB soundtrack playing in the background as well as a television playing an episode in the main area. We opted for some photo ops in the staged areas in the back which was really cool. Although I wanted to take half the store home with me, we ended up buying a few small things, but it is TOTALLY free to walk around and take pictures. We probably stayed up to 45 minutes walking around but we are slow so you can probably manage about 15-25 minutes easy (several others did so). If you have the time, and are a BB/BCS fan, definitely worth the stop. read more
