I was able to get a couple nice things for myself as well as a great gift for a friend back home who dog sat my furry companion. The store is pretty big and virtually every inch has something interesting to consider buying. I wish the online store featured more of the items actually sold in store because I'd probably buy a cactus for myself after seeing the one I bought my friend. The salesperson also gave us some tips on where to visit while we were in the area. She was really friendly and a great resource for us. If you only get a chance to visit one gift shop in the area I'd say this one is your best bet!

Couldn't stop smiling walking around this shop, and that's what it's all about folks...this is a great local business offering lots of trinkets, odds and ends, unique gifts and random novelty goodness. Lots of high quality games, high grade soaps and incense, and interesting doodads. Old Town oozes charm and culture. You can visit a historic chapel, roam the many cute shops or grab something to eat at one of the restaurants. There's a lot of really interesting Native American keepsakes and art to check out as well. You also never know what could be going on here - I happened to stumble into a quincenera and visited around Day of the Dead, so there was some really neat decor all around. The shops here are closer to the reservation with lots of Native American artists so it is much more affordable than the same thing in Santa Fe. It is a bit touristy but we are tourists so we enjoyed it. Many shops had unique items that were hard to find and even though it was mainly for show I loved seeing the dried chili everywhere. The area has legit history and age and it was great being able to see and do so much without moving our car. Parking was easy and from the town square you can get to many different shops, restaurants, and attractions. The church was a nice fast stop, but I liked the exterior more than the interior. As we wandered the store, we looked at the gently used women's wear (beautiful dresses, and unique jackets), books, and kitschy items that include items men (and women) would like for camping or traveling. The last time I visited, his store was on Wyoming/Montgomery. The store had a lot to offer my company. They happily browsed through the isles. I was impressed with his stock, it was clean, and it was well organized. The owner started to check us out, but his grandson came to relieve him, so he finished the transaction. They were both friendly and knowledgeable about chiles. He also roasts chiles when in season. We found the perfect ristra. We'll be back.

I came in after a friend of mine gifted me a box of goodies from here. I just love shopping at local places and I loved our gift so much that I had to go and get one for my friends who were visiting from out of state. As soon as I opened the door I was greeted with a warm welcome from the person behind the register. I walked through the quaint little shop and just fell in love with everything. I didn't realize I was going to spend as much as I did since none of the items had prices on them. A nice young man checked on me to see if I needed help after a few minutes which was nice. It's walkable from Old Town Albuquerque but you can also drive and park since there are plenty of parking spots. The things that stood out as unique here was the large selection of Pendleton made blankets and clothing with Native American patterns. There is almost an overwhelming amount of items here so it's good if you like browsing. The staff also knows a lot so if you have questions or are looking for a specific item you can ask away. You can also ask for a discount and haggle the prices if you think it's too much. My friend accidentally broke a Kachina doll that was already slightly broken, he felt bad and requested we come back right before our flight so he could pay for it. Staff was very kind and gave him a massive discount. He has it proudly displayed at his home now!

It's good to see that I was right about the customer service being strong on my last review. I didn't even ask for a refund, it was offered by the business owner, I'm glad old school American customer service isn't dead in this country. Previous review: I wanted to really be super positive so I'm rounding my review up to 4 stars. They were really nice in the store and accommodating even though it was right before Valentine's Day. So that's gotta be worth something. I feel like the customer service and general friendliness was worthy of 5 stars. I just had a few gripes, so for one, I wanted to make my arrangement bigger , but it looks like by doing so it ended up looking cluttered. I think I would have benefited from having a larger vase , and maybe different placement of stuff. What ended up happening was they just added more flowers to a pre existing arrangement so that's why it looked a bit smashed. In pictures it doesn't look like I spent over $200 but in person it does look a bit better. I was also hoping for roses that weren't fully bloomed, they replaced a couple for me that were like that but when I came the next day to pick them up I noticed many more that were fully bloomed. Which isn't a problem per se , but it means the flowers probably won't live too long because they are at the end of their life cycle. The bow was really pretty I wish they had a larger one when the arrangement got bigger you couldn't really notice it as well as you could on their pre arranged ones. I kinda wished I would have had an option to design one from the ground up , but I get it, it's Valentine's Day people are busy. I'm also not going to say anything negative about the price, because it just seems like Albuquerque in general just has really expensive flowers. I'm originally from LA and we have a massive flower market with florists in them where we pay half of the prices in this town. So I've been growing accustomed to that part. For me, the thing that sets apart a florist from let's say, getting flowers at Whole Foods, is the customization , fine details, artistry, execution, and design that you miss out on by buying flowers from a place like that. I know times get busy, just hoping next time I'll have the forethought to get more involved and ask if it might look more full in a bigger vase or if I should go buy a larger bow myself and wrap it, etc. Ya know? Just to make things perfect. Ultimately a perfect gift is priceless
