I give this place zero stars for customer service! As a first time store visitor, after hearing great things and reading great reviews about the Store, I thought I'd visit and had planned to have ordered/bought a rifle and a hang gun. But when I pulled up at 3:10 pm today, November 15, 2025. I was greeted by two employees outside who were more invested and worried about smoking their vapes then helping me out with making a purchase. As soon as I walked up to the front door, I felt the mood was off and then when I walked in, I could tell they really weren't interested in helping, so why give them my business! To all future buyers I hope you have a better experience, but I will not be returning! Only thing that made it ok, was the guy with the dodge truck gave me a jump after my car wouldn't start.....I appreciate him and the older lady for the cables.... read more

New to the area. Needed a minor Glock 26 front night sight fix. Arnie promptly gunsmithed the issue and returned the pistol to me as I stood there. No charge. My first time transferring a rifle on an online purchase. I received a call less than 2 hours after my item was delivered. Kelly kindly called and was extremely friendly. Recently became a first time gun owner and used ABQ Guns for my gun transfer. When I arrived, I was helped immediately and was walked through the process of purchasing my gun. After this, Ray took time to show me everything I needed to know about the gun and referred me to someone that teaches gun safety. Over the next few weeks I searched for ammo around Albuquerque and Rio Rancho and couldn't find any. Every OTHER gun store I went to, I felt disrespected and unvalued by staff. Having no knowledge of guns or ammo, I was hoping to find a place that welcomes new gun owners and was willing to engage and teach customers. Abq Guns does just that. She is one of those very rare people who share their heart and soul with you. I needed just that kind of generous person!! Arnie and Belinda run a nice friendly, but tight ship. This place will appeal to the serious gun owner or the newly acquainted to gun ownership. Along with cleanliness and an all around welcoming shop, there are offers for classes, personal instruction and plenty of information available. FFL transfers from other sites, shops are efficient and not overly expensive. Most importantly, this is a places that welcomes and informs women on the proper handgun/rifle and the ongoing instruction of how to operate and care for the purchase. Self defense for women is an imperative and firearm training is an integral part of this imperative. Women should feel welcome here and that unfortunately does not translate to all firearm stores and gun shops that I have been in. Their prices are pretty good, but fall second to their vast amount of knowledge. If I run into any problems, they are only a phone call away and quick to help or give recommendations. I chose ABQ Guns after deciding to buy my first gun, and I couldn't be more impressed with the staff there. After doing my own research and deciding on a gun for myself, I went there to talk to the employees to make sure I had made the best decision for myself. As a woman, I've also historically been a little intimidated by most gun shops. I figured ABQ Guns might be a good fit because they are women owned, and I will say that nobody ever talked down to me or patronized me. They also didn't encourage me to get something more expensive than I needed and helped me pick out everything I would need to take proper care of the weapon I bought. I happily ordered a PMR-30 which arrived this week. I'm absolutely recommending this place to everyone I know and will definitely be back when I make my next purchase. read more

A good gun store is a joy. Develop a relationship with a good gun store you can trust and happiness flows. A bad store flows headaches. I am a collector/hunter. Tried to purchase a Thompson 1927M1. Prior to ordering I was assured that the 50 round drum would fit. Also heard the phone call where the supplier confirmed the drum would fit. Hours later I discovered in an online download of the manual that the 50 round drum will not fit. I contacted the store immediately so they could stop the order. I was told the owner would call me right back. All attempts at contact with owner failed. Promised return calls never happened. I am disabled veteran and I ended up in UNM hospital the next day so I could not go physically to the store but I kept my phone with me every minute. Finally had to give up and dispute the charge on my card. Store knew right up front I wanted a gun that would use the 50 round drum and the 30 round sticks. I also told them I would like to order a model that fit this criteria. Finally did get the owner on the phone to have him treat me very rudely about not wanting a gun I had special-ordered. No apology for repeatedly giving false information. No apology for phone calls never returned. No offer to to order a different model as I had requested beginning with the very first call when I first found out the information I had been given was absolutely wrong. Owner was very rude and honestly, customer service only seemed to occur at and on the way to the cash register. Owner's anger and rude ending of the call lost him a $1500 sale because I still wanted to buy a model that fit my criteria. I was even going to offer to split the cost of return shipping on the wrong model. I always try to support small local gun stores. There are a lot of gun stores in Albuquerque area. Find one that appreciates your business and not one that acts like they're doing you a favor to take your money. read more

Arnie has always been fair in pricing and knowledgeable about all things relating to guns. My son was in from DC and bought a trigger for an AR and took it back home and he just raves about it. I have bought a couple of CCWs and a M1A from him at extremely fair and competitive prices. If he doesn't have it n stock, he will try to get it for you. The can perform some repairs in store and will help you ship your weapon if the manufacture is the only authorized repair facility. They can help you build a custom weapon to fit your needs. They can research parts for you, order the parts if he doesn't have it in stock. They are the only store that does carry parts for upgrading or replacement on several types of weapons. They can help you fit a handgun for personal protection and recommend Concealed Carry courses that will build your confidence. Arnie, Belinda, and Sean are amazing people and make and awesome team.
