Visited Calibers on the Westside for the first time last week and I am obsessed with this place! We were warmly greeted by multiple employees upon entering and it was a fairly busy Friday evening. My plethora of questions were promptly answered by a knowledgeable staff member and I am excited to take a course in the coming weeks with instructor Rachel! They offer a huge selection of firearms and ammo and have range memberships which we are thrilled about! One stop shop for everything you need, conveniently located at the bottom of Coors and Irving and an overall great atmosphere! They offer really good specials... If I remember correctly, Monday is half price for the range and Thursdays is ladies night. Gotta check them out! read more

Deajsh kept interrupting, would not listen, kept interrupting, kept interrupting, would not listen to a simple question, a simple problem which could have been resolved easily and quickly but her abrasive attitude caused a huge problem which a simple solution was available. My brother and I had a great time at Calibers when I was in town. I have been shooting for many years and my brother had only shot once before. I do not recall her name, but the young lady who helped us was fantastic!! She made great recommendations and provided great tips for my brother. The rentals were clean and worked flawlessly and they have a pretty decent selection to rent, no matter what you're looking for. They had exactly what we were wanting to use so we were happy with it. Overall, we spent around 2 hours at the range and the cost was less than I expected for two rentals, three boxes of ammo, lane use, and a couple paper targets. Between the employee's assistance and the quality of the range, I am sure my brother will be going back, possibly to take one or more of their courses. The next time I am in town, I will be coming back in for certain and also taking him back. Great establishment and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a range, whether you bring your own weapon or rent one of theirs. read more

I visit the Coors location approx weekly for personal shooting. Their counter staff and RSO's are helpful, friendly, and courteous. Their trainer, Gary, conducts classes in numerous F/A related subjects, but often supervises special shooting sessions for members. He is very well versed in his classroom subjects, and supervises the members' group fun-shoots very well. It seems he has eyes in the back of his head, and can control both the shooting line, as well as the spectator areas, fairly and competently. He's a great guy to get to know! read more

Took the Advanced Defensive Handgun Course with my stepson instructed by John Mallory... it was informative, technical, demanding, challenging and fun. 400 rounds downrange in four hours with more than a dozen advanced shooting skills (timed SDRs, realistic FTF drills, shooting while moving, shooting from cover, multiple threats) reviewed and practiced. Facilities are excellent, safety is paramount... instruction was first class. The pace of the training and volume of fire demanded personal attention and constant focus. One of the best courses I have taken in 20 years. Excellent service, not cheap but good value! Highly recommended. read more

I stopped going to this location even though it's closer to me because the staff here are young kids who have bad attitudes. Same case with the Fuds that work here too. Had to go in to zero in my new sight and didn't wanna drive to cutler and sure enough reminded me why I don't go here anymore. Shit Staff with shit attitudes. Most cities have annual membership around $250 and less. This establishment has a monopoly and charges an incredible amount. Been there a few times and was ignored by the employees, laughed at by employees when asked for eye and ear protection, and was distracted by people scavenging shell off the floor. read more

I just took the first shots course there,I highly recommend their course to any newbie! I'm an old lady and I was afraid to go to the range until I took a course. My goals were to feel more comfortable with a weapon., Get tips on how to hold/aim and shoot, and to improve my gun safety! I met all my goals with this course! I'm not an expert now, of course, but now feel more comfortable going to the range and becoming better with a gun. Ken was great! read more

The staff was very nice at the front counter. They were very helpful in getting people checked in and processed through for their shooting times. I had a guy next to me that had some pretty intense weapons that were extremely loud. It was hard to concentrate on shooting when a .357 is going off next to me. I'm a firm believer in that even if you do not like guns, you should know and understand their power and your way around one. I also believe that every person that chooses to eat meat should in fact know how to process meat, kill their own game, and understand what they are doing. In this era of uncertainty and a shortage of ammo at pretty much any store in the area or overpriced ammo, I stopped by Calibers to look for 357 or 38 special. It's out of stock everywhere unfortunately here as well. I was also looking for a 22 pistol, but they're also out. However, I was able to pick up a small pistol with bullets for less than $500 that is perfect for concealed carry. Having been around guns my whole life and knowing how to shoot, I appreciate that as a woman I wasn't looked at like I was crazy or that I didn't know what I was looking for. There was genuine education provided if needed but also the ability to look. They offer classes and range shooting as well. I plan on having my son take classes when he's old enough and hunters safety as well. read more

Gary Antal at Calibers, West location on Coors has been my instructor for Conceal Carry certification, and several private lessons. Gary is great, patient, direct, concise, and has improved my shooting. Breath control, trigger reset, releasing my slide (I did have trouble releasing the slide release on my Glock 19 for cleaning), how to make sure my grip was correct, and from my targets when I needed to add pressure with my support hand. I highly recommend Gary Antal as an instructor at Calibers. Calibers is a great place to go shoot! read more

Had the chance to take my son to Calibers for his Birthday "birthday machine gun package". He's from NY so freedom is a new thing to him. The staff was friendly, instructive, and truly enjoyable to speak with. Brought one of my pistols to add to the experience and we had a great time. Pro's: The shooting lanes and range is fairly nice... Never had to wait long to shoot. Clean space. Good selection of pews to buy/rent, yes, there is a mark up but not horrible. Staff is knowledgable. Cons: -Membership is EXTREMELY over priced and cancelling said membership is more difficult than driving a car up hill with square tires. . . After 15--- yes, 15 attempts to get in contact with staff, managers, owners etc. to cancel my membership I was still received bi-weekly transactions It wasn't until I contacted my bank (with proof of cancelling membership) that they finally stopped. It took hours-- DAYS worth of time getting in contact with someone to cancel and now months later I still receive anywhere from 2-6 calls per day from Calibers third-party company ABC Fitness in regards to renewing membership. NO! The monthly events that they hold for members is cool, but not at all worth the frustration. I will be taking my business elsewhere and encourage others to do the same. read more

The instructor, Gary Antal, was thorough and I learned so much. Had help on the range and felt like I was respected and not belittled in any way. When I'm traveling and have a day off, I really like to keep my weapon handling skills sharpened by hopping onto an indoor range. This place is terrific, actually world class. The folks who work there are courteous and helpful, the range was clean and well lit, and they ask nonmembers to watch and agree to a safety video upon entering. Personally, I think all ranges should do this. What I really liked about Calibers' video was it also explained range etiquette - which happens to match my range etiquette - so I was pleased to see them teaching the youngsters how to behave properly in a place like this. Coming from California, I was also happy to see the price of ammo significantly less than my home state. Great job team, I'll see you next time I'm in town. read more

I have used many other indoor ranges all over the Midwest and south, and I felt like the staff didn't want to help the customers get signed and on the range. It took 20-30 mins to get signed in, with staff standing around behind the counter and only one guy at the register. The clustered all the shooters on one side of the two sided ranges, which made for a crowded situation as several lanes had 3 shooters on the same target lane. After my last time there, I'm looking for an outdoor range or open range land for my next shooting outing. read more

I have spent a lot of years around firearms, military, law enforcement & competitive shooting. I been to a plethora of gun shops, ranges and places selling guns and ammunition, some great and others not so much. Calibers is pretty much a one stop shop for your firearms needs. Not the best but far from the worst. The firearm prices are very reasonable - coming in at or near the more realistic street prices, offering a savings above the generally over inflated MSRP. There is a decent selection of accessories and ammunition. The accessories I looked at were at retail price points. For the safety conscious, security minded or parents with kids in the house they offer gun safes to fit most sized collections. Given the current state of affairs unfortunately they're increasingly becoming a necessity. Classes are available to meet the needs of most shooters from basic firearms handling to long distance shooting. Gunsmithing services are also on location to fix what's broken or to install the latest accessory. Then there are the ranges. Don't have a weapon to shoot - or want to shoot something before you buy? No prob. There are guns for rent giving an opportunity to try something else. Unfortunately they are short, about 30 yds. Great for pistols, or sighting in a rifle, but don't provide the distance needed to hone long gun proficiency. I'd like to see some 100 yard lanes. So you're asking why the 3 stars. Customer service is hit and miss. (pun intended). I've had days where the employees are present and helpful, others where they were scarce and seemed like they'd rather be elsewhere. Ammunition prices are at a premium. Don't come here to just buy ammo. But I'm sure it offsets the lower weapons prices. For range time there is a tendency to group all shooters in one section of the range(there are 2 defined sections). The large caliber rifles are frequently put along side the small caliber hand guns. On the last occasion I was shooting a rifle next to a person shooting a handgun. I was told that each time I fired the person in the next lane jumped. Probably better to spread shooters out to make the experience fun for everyone. If this Calibers fix these issues it would get all 5 stars. read more

Last week I took my little Browning .25 automatic pistol made in Belgium, a real keepsake...... in to get it cleaned, where I told the receiver that the gun was bought in 1966 by my husband as a gift to me, and that it had traveled all over the world, but had not been cleaned or shoot for thirty years, and that I just wanted it cleaned and inspected so that it would be safe to shoot if need be....when I had not heard from the Caliber gunsmiths in 8 days, I called, and was told it was ready.... but a piece of wood had fallen off and maybe they could find a new cover for it online.... the gun was in perfect shape when I took it in, kept in a padded carry pouch for the the last ..what...almost 60 years...... so it was apparent when I examined it that the side piece covering the back arm of the gun had been forcible separated from the gun for cleaning, and had been broken by the technician who handled it..... it was delivered to me in a piece .... and Adam said it was old, etc. etc. etc.... and offered to look up what it would cost to replace it, which was over 100 dollars..... I put it back together and ask if he could not just super glue the cover together, as it fit well together, and put it back together.... which he did.... at no time was the admission made that they had broken my keepsake gun my dead husband had bought me, and that they were going to make it right as far as they could.....I paid 53.00 for a cleaning I now do not trust, and left...... what a dishonorable thing for a business to do to an 81 year old pretty good shooting Annie Oakley lady...... I suggest you find a better place to have your gunsmithing done.....I am airing out my glue smelingl pistol on my dresser..... read more

Awful customer service! The employees treat you like a idiot or like your worthless. When I use my first amendment , I use it to train. I'm a combat veteran and I went in on Veterans Day and was treated like I was a idiot in regard to firearm safety. The employees are fudds and are judgmental if you take your training seriously. (I was being stared at the second I walked in and was instantly judged). Firstly I was informed I wasn't allowed to have my weapon holstered in the lobby, I gladly complied because I understand there's crazies. I proceed to the firing area with my battle belt, and was questioned about my firearm qualifications by a supposed "marine" for taking my pistol out of my gun bag and moving it to the firing line. He was then arguing with me and was being very aggressive towards me. You're better off just going out to the mesa so you're not disrespected by calibers employees for wanting to improve skills. Maybe they were intimidated by my tactical gear? Sounds about right for a store ran by Fudds. read more

I was ignored and avoided for 45 mins! I left really upset! Right after I left I made a very pleasurable purchase at Ron Peterson's!

If you are not experienced in range shooting or a senior citizen DO NOT GO TO CALIBERS, unless you are okay with being publicly yelled at and publicly humiliated by a "want to be marine " supervisor. A group of us went shooting and at no time were explained the rules and expected to read them off a iPad or our phone. At not time we're we given a written copy of the waiver we had to sign. We were at no time pulled aside professionally and told what we were doing wrong. This was unprofessional and abusive to the older generation. No customer service was given for the amount of money we paid. We felt we were targeted because we did not do our concealed carry class through their facility. It is just unfortunate there is no other indoor range to go to where you are treated with respect like any paying customer. I will never go to that facility nor recommend under any circumstance due to the abusive behavior from the supervisor. read more

DO NOT BUY A MEMBERSHIP HERE! I've been a customer since the only location was on Paseo. Bought numerous firearms, accessories and range time over the years. I signed up for a membership and shortly after needed to change payment methods. Because they use a gym membership company to collect the payments, all they could find was an old planet fitness membership. After hours of back and forth, I let it lie. Then I've got collections notices for a membership I couldn't pay for and did not use because of that. When I spoke with Sabrina Alderete, I was told "you should have used a different email". When I mentioned all the other reviews for similar issues I was told "people don't like to pay their bills". Zero care about the situation or their customers. Was told CEO Ryan Burt is the only one who could make the decision. Two calls and an email, no response from the coward. I will never spend another penny with this company and I will recommend to everyone to do the same. read more

As a gun un-thusiast who spent many afternoons in gravel pits, taking target practice with his papa, I'm not one to tout the firearm industry in this country. I don't own a gun and never will, because I have children, and I could go on. And on. Still, I recognize the rights of the gun owner, I've known many who honor the levity of weaponry and the responsibility such tools encompass, and so I give credence to those who responsibly holster a gun. Like it or not, firearms are a stitch in our fabric, and businesses like Calibers represent the clean, smart, reputable side of a sketchy industry. This place teaches what it means to be a responsible gun owner. And then some. I like the And Then Some. These guys offer classes that don't involve real guns, as well, like self defense. There's a lot to discover in this silo that have nothing to do with bullets. I found myself enraptured at a display for a bad-ass non-lethal but still punishing product that my wife could fit in her purse; this place does stock alternatives to the ol' fashioned gun. In the end, I bought a taser for my teenage daughter, and I'm coming back for mace. I'm a disillusioned gun hater, for sure. I grew up loving 'em, and the people who religiously coddled them. And I can handle 'em. I know how to measure my breath and fire a solid shot. But as a parent, I can't imagine buying one. That's neither here nor there. Calibers is a great gun shop. read more

Coors is run by assholes. Called them 30 minutes before I get there just to make sure they are open on NYE and was told they as open til 5. Get there, again 30 minutes later and no one is there. Call the Cutler store and they said they are closing early at 1 due to weather (sending employees home in the MIDDLE of the storm). I advised him it's 12:30 and I just spoke to Coors at 12 and his response was "I dunno man I guess they wanted to leave" I'll take my $2000 elsewhere. read more
