4.5 stars A great way to spend a morning! We came here a few weeks ago to use the hour range time. It was $15 for my dad and I to share a lane (there are 19 lanes) and included all the equipment. We were set up with bows with two different draw strengths, plenty of arrows, and paper targets near and far. They also had packages for half hour increments, lessons, and birthday parties. I went into this place three times as a beginner. A close friend recently gave me compound bow as I am learning to bow hunt and provide for myself. I asked the young guys at the store if they could help me with tuning and checking it over for safety. The "techs" left set screws loose on arrow rest and on the cams-one actually fell out, and my knocking point was adjusted a cm too high. I also asked for assistance with a quiver, a case, and a target. They offered no assistance or advise, and were absurdly rude and stand-offish to me-even after tipping them. I also paid to have 4 arrows re-wraped and refletched. The wraps were not installed correctly, fletchings were not spaced correctly, and after firing 4 arrows twice, the wraps were completely falling off. I live 4 hours away and chose this store because they have been in business for years. I spent a lot of money, I asked a ton of questions and I was treated very poorly. Annette was able to fix my arrows, and when I went to pick them up, more attitude from the staff. I do NOT recommend this place for any beginner. All the kids were interested in was taking my money and having an attitude. If you are serious about archery or hunting, I suggest Hit or Miss Archery in Albuquerque or any sports warehouse. This place doesn't deserve the one star I have to give them. I would post photos of the fletchings and wraps if there was an option to do so. read more

Guys (and Gals)...this shop is dope!!!! I purchased a Groupon to schedule my son's 8th birthday party here. The place was PACKED!!!! Turns out, there were also groupons available for the shooting range, and there were lots of first timers giving it a go....what a great date night destination this would be!!!! Our party was facilitated brilliantly, keeping all of the children engaged, proper safety and technique training, and just a ton of fun. I am so pleased with how everything was carried out. My husband is a bow hunter, and this is his favorite go to spot to sight in his bow, pick up supplies, and can I just say how awesome the staff is?!?!? Experts in their field. The Archery Shop staff were incredibly patient. When I first went in they showed me a number of bows and in contrast to other places actually changed the draw length and adjusted the weight to find out if the bow really would be good for me. I wasn't ready to buy that day but with service like that I came back and bought a bow. They tuned it up for me and again spent a lot of time making sure everything was right. See the Photo of my target after they had it dialed in for me. I've shot a lot of recurve bows in the past, this is the first bow that I own and it's a compound bow. The awesome staff got me set with everything that I needed for my bow hunt and I took an elk a month later on my first bow hunt. Chris and Clint went above and beyond (and we're epically patient) as we tried to find a bow that would suit my needs and stay within my budget. this is a compound shop, they cater to hunters, they're good at that. Traditional bow, long bows, recurve bows, ILF bows, they don't know anything even if they say they do they don't, and they lie about it. They will try to get you into a compound bow because more money there. There's only one coach there that's good and that person isn't there very much. The others are just trying to make money and string out the students who usually leave when they figure that out. read more

Everything seemed great when I went in. Lots of great product, friendly service, no rushing, and a great range to practice in. Unfortunately, I live in Santa Fe. I've emailed them and called them several times with zero response. They sold me a kind of Robin Hood bow that sitting together at one spot at the center. They fit together and it didn't quite go in and talking amongst themselves decided, oh it must not go in all the way. Well, I almost lost my eye. When I got home, and pulled back my elbow, on a 25 pound weight, and let it fly, the entire boat snapped in half and went flying all over the place. Lucky to be here to tell you about it LOL. This store has not bothered to respond to my emails or voicemails. Therefore, I would be careful going here. I see all the great reviews but if a business doesn't bother to return emails or phone calls, where are we at? read more

Attended a special event at here and it was just great. Owner Gina gave clear instructions and we got right to it. Staff were friendly and helpful and made sure everyone was learning how to do it and having a good time. We were a very large group, and they made sure everyone got to participate. Birthday parties here are $149.99 ages 8 and up. Their fliers don't say anything about an UPPER age limit though!! :) (For a child's party, adults shoot free. I haven't asked yet how a grown-up's party would work, but it really would be fun, PROMISE!) You can also come in any time and shoot by the hour or half-hour. Prices are along the lines of $7 for a half hour, $10 for an hour, I think $15 for an hour & a half, etc. REALLY affordable. And fun for all ages. (They can help you adjust a bow for your skill level and strength so this is a good event for both a couples date AND a family outing!) They can accommodate from the very beginning beginner up to the skilled hunter who owns his or her own equipment. They also have a pretty expansive store if this is a sport you decide to take up. I have so many good things to say I am just going to have to start somewhere. I went for an event, so the room was packed with amateur archers. I think one guy had a clue as to what he was doing. The rest of us had little to no experience. The owner did an amazing job of showing everyone how to safely handle a compound bow. In the end, even if you could not hit the target, everyone had a huge smile on their face after they sent their last arrow down range. If you want to try something different, but do not want to spend a ton of money Archery Shopppe should be at the top of your list. Much to my surprise it is cheaper than bowling. $10 would get you a bow and a lane for an hour. Caution: You will have so much fun that hour will go quick. Great shop! Went in just to try shooting a bow and was able to practice a bunch with some basic bows and a recurve bow. After we talked with Chris and he measured out my husbands draw length to see what kind of bow he could use. Gabe set one to the length and he was able to practice some with a more accurate draw length. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Will definitely be back to shoot some more and look into getting bows of our own! read more

I've fallen in love with archery and hunting over the years and this place has been wonderful. The employees are always knowledgeable and happy to help with any questions or any issues you're having with your bow. It can be a little on the pricey side but it's worth it when you have people that know what they're doing. I bought my first recurve from here years ago and my boyfriend bought me my first compound from here and this is the only place we come to buy our arrows. The price for shooting is pretty darn good, service was slow but that could have been an exception to the rule and not the norm. Very poor customer service. We came in to buy a upgraded bow for my son. We were there for over 30 minutes and was never acknowledge. Several of them were busy but there was two staff members who were constantly just talking with each other and joking around. As we were finally walking out the door in frustration that was the first time that we got any acknowledgment from any of the staff members. Poor customer service experience. All I needed were some minor adjustments to the arrow rest and knock. Instead of taking the 30 minutes to make the adjustments, they asked me to leave it with them because they were apparently "getting ready to get busy...", which implies they weren't busy at the time, but my service wasn't a priority for them. Went back in next day to pick up my bow. Four people working behind the counter, including the guy who tuned my bow, and one guy sitting on a stool not doing much of anything. I stood two feet from the counter for 15 minutes, made eye contact with every employee, was walked-by several times, and nobody seemed to care what I was there for. Maybe I was just standing there to make them uncomfortable? After what seemed like an awkward eternity, a random employee walked by and asked if I'd been helped yet. Ended up charging me $24 for adjusting my rest and knock a fraction of an inch. Not sure I'll be returning. Going to check out Hit or Miss Archery...maybe they'll appreciate my business. read more
