I really wanted to try this place because I've been wanting tofu soup for a while. I ordered their tofu soup and their sweet and spicy chicken (boneless). The tofu soup I opted to get with seafood and it was great! However, it wasn't spicy enough and I think that some spice would've really sufficed. The chicken was perfect! Although on the same sentiment I do wish it was spicier, it was cooked PERFECTLY! So tender, light crispness, and just overall great taste. I will definitely be back here. If you're looking for a quick stop for yummy fusion bowls, this is your place! I went with a friend for an early dinner on Monday (around 4:30), and the restaurant was empty. There's plenty of street parking in the area. We ordered the Korean Spicy bowl and the Kimchi Fried Rice. For the fried rice bowl, they gather the ingredients and fry them together with the rice right in front of you, so you know it's freshly done! My kimchi fried rice was piping hot when I first tried to eat it. I tried some of my friend's chicken as well, and it was well cooked and seasoned with gochujang. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauces they provide, given that they were a little too creamy/sweet for my taste, but my friend enjoyed their gochujang sauce on his bowl. Was the first customer here on a regular weekday (a week and 1/2 ago) at 11:00 and have been craving the Flame Bowl rice dish and I found one of my favorite kimchi pancakes also in the menu, so I ordered both just to try and it was very flavorful! The only adjustment I would make is to slightly lower the kimchi pancakes price. I think this restaurant would have more orders if the price was slightly adjusted for affordability. I really liked the ambience decor and the sauces that are displayed right in the center bar table of the restaurant. It tasted great with the kimchi pancakes and they are free and plenty which is awesome! What should also be changed is how the huge trash tins are all covered and it's hard to separate the trashes. Sadly I felt compelled to write a review after my last experience. The restaurant deserves three stars only because of the good food and service I've typically received. I've been coming here for awhile and recently they increased prices but included soup so for $17 it's still not terrible and can usually stretch the meal over two meals. Tonight the micromanager was hovering over his chefs and adamant about not serving the soup to go as if this was some special request. At home I sadly discovered much less of everything and not even the typical fried egg. Soon the signature bowls will only have three ingredients for barely one meal at $25. You lost a customer, good luck staying in business with these practices. Hopefully the store finds a new manager and reverts to the Bibimix everyone loves. read more

Yesss I love this place. Came here post workout and wasn't sure if I wanted a salad bowl or katsu or cake so got all of the above. I definitely recommend the bowl, the katsu and cake not so much. They were so generous with the vegetable selection that I basically had enough fresh veggies for 2.5 meals. Great food at a great price! My boyfriend and I came here for lunch on a Friday. It wasn't too busy and we were in the front of the line to order right away. It's kind of like Chipotle in that there are a couple of different base (salad, rice, noodles) and meat options and you work down the line asking for vegetables to be added. The meat is actually cooked when you order it so that was nice. We both got salads and I got the normal chicken and he got the spicy chicken. There are four different sauces you can add to your bowl. We both had yum yum sauce and then I had some of the green sauce as well, delicious! Overall, what a nice quick little lunch place! Bibimix has been great the couple of times I've been. I love Korean food and it's definitely missing in the Rosslyn area so it's great to have a place within walking distance. I really love tteokbokki, and theirs is great - it has a good amount of spice but it's also sweet and the rice cakes are chewy and delicious. It comes with two veggie potstickers too, which aren't the best I've had but the filling is yummy. All in all the food is good for the price and convenience but not the best I've had. I'm excited to come back to try the chicken and jeon. I'm so glad they have other food outside of their bowls, because I crave Korean meals a lot! Picking up from this place was a breeze and let me tell you the food was some of the best food I've had in a long time. The pork cutlet is crispy the sauces are just perfect, the seafood pancake is a little thicker than usual but it wasn't a bad thing it's extremely delicious, the corn balls are sweet and just the right amount of crispy they were honestly better than I expected. The wings we are sweet and tangy and delicious, quite large and very crispy. The food is incredible for $10 a bowl. The portion size is insane and the sauces are so delicious. My favorite is the green wasabi sauce! I ordered the popcorn chicken and Chinese flame bowl. The Chinese flame bowl is worth the whole $10 and more! I cannot believe the value you get. I also ordered the popcorn chicken with a side of gyoza (fried vegetable dumplings). They make the chicken from scratch and the amount they give is insane! The only reason this is not a five star review is because of customer service. The menu states that the order comes with five dumplings, but when we got the order it was only three. I asked the cashier if there was a mistake and they told me that they only give three dumplings now. The amount of meat that was served was tiny. The absolute worst was that the noodles were served cold. When I pointed this out to the young man, he really did not seem to care all that much. I was craving Bi Bim Bop and there are no places near me in McLean. I didn't want to drive to Annandale or Centerville where there's an abundance of Korean places, and BIBIMIX came up on the Yelp search. So... This review is based only on the Bi Bim Bop, so take it with a grain of salt. I forgot to specify on the internet order to put the sauces on the side, but they did that without my asking, so I was happy about that. However, I was bummed to see the fried egg was fully cooked, i.e., flipped over well. I was expecting sunny-side up, so the yolk would be runny and mix with everything else. I also had to order the steak as an extra, it was not included in the base. Taste-wise, it was fine, steak was tender. I don't know if I'd order again, but I'm guessing I should order it with the egg done sunny-side up. You can go for their Korean fried chicken as well, great options and really fresh ingredients. I've been loving the spicy shrimp, rice noodles and yum yum sauce! I mix it up when it comes to fixings but have yet to be disappointed with a bowl. They have complimentary miso soup that is decent as well. Great spot for a casual dinner or lunch. It's a good thing I didn't get a chance to try this place until after I had already moved out of Courthouse, because I may have never left after coming here. I am a huge fan of Korean food, but not really a fan of the fast casual create your own bowl restaurant concept. But, I was hungry, and couldn't think of anywhere else quick to go, so gave it a chance. I always go with one of the signature options when trying these types of places, so tried the Korean Spicy Bowl. I'm so glad I did - I was blown away by the freshness and full flavor of each of the individual ingredients. The service was a little spotty - they were a bit overwhelmed with the lunch rush. They went ahead and pre filled bowls while waiting for the toppings to cook (chicken and egg), so by the time those were prepped the rice and everything in the bowl was cold. But it all tasted so wonderful I let that go, as I was furiously shoveling food in my face as fast as I could. I wish the egg had been runny, but it still added a nice flavor. This place is not very good. I was surprised by my experience after seeing such good reviews! We tried the Korean fried chicken with traditional Korean sauce and the Korean spicy bowl. We got takeout around dinner time. The chicken was very disappointing. The outside was hard and tough and the inside was very dry! I'm not sure if it was just very overcooked or not fresh. Either way, not tasty. Also it is all white meat. The sauce tasted ketchupy and I wasn't a fan of that either. The Korean spicy bowl was just ok. Chicken also dry. Lots of veggies which was a plus. I only ordered delivery through Doordash and have never been in person, so this review is specifically for delivery and not for the restaurant. I debated and debated about what to order because everything sounded good. I was in the mood for Korean so there were definitely a lot of choices on DoorDash! I chose BIbimix because they had a discount for the first order and the reviews were stellar. I ultimately ended up getting the Grilled chicken japchae as the combination of sweet potato noodles, chicken, and veggies sounded fantastic. However the dish was disappointing as the chicken was dry, the noodles were overly salty and in general the whole dish was bland compared to japchae I've gotten in the past. It was really disappointing considering that I was treating myself to this. Because the reviews are solid I would consider trying this place again if I were in the area, but maybe trying something other than the japchae. read more

The ingredients were all very fresh, but it did take a while to get the food because I think they are still trying to figure it all out, and they cook the chicken on the grill once you order it, which is a plus. I'm a Bon Chon fan when it comes to wings. Bibimix wings are really good and come in a larger variety of flavors but they aren't Bon Chon wings where I need someone to take the container away so I stop eating. That being said, if you like sweet and spicy wings, the Korean traditional wings, which Bon Chon doesn't have are perfect (as opposed to sweet vs. holy s*** this is hot). I also appreciate the menu variety of Bibimix and the great value for my money. And I love a good seafood pancake. If you like Japanese food, think Okonomiyaki. If you like Chinese food, think scallion pancakes with seafood. Also ordered the Chinese flame, pictured here. I've been to BIBIMIX twice now: once for my birthday lunch in November and one at the beginning of March. Unfortunately, both times I forgot this place was on my Yelp list for me to check in and write a review. My bad!! But, I will say I absolutely love it, especially the vegan/vegetarian options it allows (I have found it extremely difficult to find restaurants serving authentic, or even close to authentic, Korean flavors AND vegan friendly dishes.) So, great job there! So, BIBIMIX is walking distance, exactly halfway between where I work and where I used to go to school (RIP Argosy University). In the broader sense, if you're up for the hike, it is also half way between the Courthouse and Rosslyn metro stations. At lunch time it can be packed with a line circling the middle counter around to the door.... or, you might find yourself having an intimate lunch with, well, yourself. The staff seem to take it in stride, as they are kind, patient with our indecisiveness, and efficient with producing everyone's orders. Unfortunately, I don't remember what I ordered in November... I *think* it was the Greenbomb, but a couple weeks ago I ordered the Japanese 5 Senses with tofu which was amazing. My friend ordered the Kimchi bowl and loved her choice as well. Though, to be honest, I think they are intentionally modest with seasonings outside the food's natural flavorings so that people can add condiments without the tastes clashing. We both added a liberal amount of gochujang (as always) and did not regret it! :-D. (One note: I read other reviews where people get free miso soup with their orders... maybe that only applies to *some* because my friends and I were never offered miso soup. Than again, that is another thing for vegans to watch out for as some miso soup variants contain bonito, which is a type or preparation of fish flakes.) Sorry no pics since I'm writing way after the fact anyway. But the place is clean, the line moves quickly, and the food is more than satisfying.
