I've been to BIBIMIX twice now: once for my birthday lunch in November and one at the beginning of March. Unfortunately, both times I forgot this place was on my Yelp list for me to check in and write a review. My bad!! But, I will say I absolutely love it, especially the vegan/vegetarian options it allows (I have found it extremely difficult to find restaurants serving authentic, or even close to authentic, Korean flavors AND vegan friendly dishes.) So, great job there! So, BIBIMIX is walking distance, exactly halfway between where I work and where I used to go to school (RIP Argosy University). In the broader sense, if you're up for the hike, it is also half way between the Courthouse and Rosslyn metro stations. At lunch time it can be packed with a line circling the middle counter around to the door.... or, you might find yourself having an intimate lunch with, well, yourself. The staff seem to take it in stride, as they are kind, patient with our indecisiveness, and efficient with producing everyone's orders. Unfortunately, I don't remember what I ordered in November... I *think* it was the Greenbomb, but a couple weeks ago I ordered the Japanese 5 Senses with tofu which was amazing. My friend ordered the Kimchi bowl and loved her choice as well. Though, to be honest, I think they are intentionally modest with seasonings outside the food's natural flavorings so that people can add condiments without the tastes clashing. We both added a liberal amount of gochujang (as always) and did not regret it! :-D. (One note: I read other reviews where people get free miso soup with their orders... maybe that only applies to *some* because my friends and I were never offered miso soup. Than again, that is another thing for vegans to watch out for as some miso soup variants contain bonito, which is a type or preparation of fish flakes.) Sorry no pics since I'm writing way after the fact anyway. But the place is clean, the line moves quickly, and the food is more than satisfying. One of my fav spots! Most spots don't offer shrimp but they do and they have so many more options for veggies. My mouth is watering as I'm writing this review and thinking about the bowl I made. They also have free miso soup when you build your bowl. Prices are very reasonable compared to dc. The spot is very clean and usually you can find parking in the front. I've visited this spot ever since it first opened, almost 3-4 times a week as I do not know how to cook and it's a fast and efficient place to get my lunch for work on the weekdays. Even during the pandemic, I have ordered from this restaurant every 2 times a week worth over $45 each order as I like to support local businesses. However, I visited the location here over 3 weeks ago I dealt with an employee who was absolutely rude. I did not get her name, but a picture taken from a previous reviewer from Nicole (about not wearing an appropriate face covering) is that lady. Firstly, she was very stingy on the portions. I made the build your own bowl and she would grab like "2 pieces" for every vegetable. I understand the coronavirus has affected businesses but if you're really trying to be stingy on the portions to "save" supply/food for the amount of food I pay from here is a bit ridiculous. What tipped me off was when I politely asked her for extra yam yam sauce and she got SUPER offended at me and started giving me the most horrible snarky attitude. She stated, " it's only one sauce per order." Mind you, the sauce is a small container and not even filled all the way! After I told her it's just one sauce I'm not understanding why this is a big issue, she stated, "I'm only giving this extra sauce to you because I'M BEING NICE." The whole experience was just super unsettling, this employee needs to be trained in customer service as someone who currently works in the customer service industry, I would not treat or talk to any customer that way. After this incident, I've ordered here from ubereats as usual, and for the special instructions I ask extra yam yam sauce please multiple times, and still they do not give it. This review is for the chicken. I have dined at this place many times, and I deviated from my usual order of the chicken just once and never went back because it simply wasn't as good. I now don't bother with any other dishes when I know I'm always going to get good, sticky, sweet Korean fried chicken at Bibimix, so I do, every time. Every last flavor they offer is delicious, I've ordered on UberEats (my order is always right) and I've picked up orders before (also correct) and I just haven't had a bad experience with this place. Fantastic! We ordered the Chinese Flame, veggie dumplings, and large fried chicken with traditional Korean sauce. The chicken was UNREAL: lots of meat on the bones, and the sticky sauce amplified the crunchiness. The dumplings tasted more doughy than I usually expect from mandu but were still crispy and delicious. I don't think I gave the Chinese Spice a fair shot, because I was so obsessed with the chicken that by the time I tried the bowl, it was no longer warm. Yum! A great quick/on the go korean *chipotle* style meal! Came here last night, and decided to design our own bowls (in which I highly recommend!). Comes with miso soup and an *unlimited* amount of sides excluding the protein choice - so you can ask to add as much of vegetables as you desire (they are generous with the amount they serve you too). I love that we can also control and select which sauces we want, gives you an opportunity to taste, test, mix, and match. There are also speciality fixed bowls in case you run a little indecisive like me, and also original korean main/side dishes including korean fried chicken selections. Came to BIBIMIX a couple days ago for a quick Sunday lunch. What a great option for fast Korean food. They're basically Korean/Asian fusion Poke Bowls, but I love them. I got the Bibimix bowl with spicy chicken, and it was so good. My friend got the Spicy kimchi bowl, and that tasted really good, too. My biggest thing was that everything was FRESH. I love that. The dishes weren't super spicy - though maybe I'm not the best judge of that since I have a very high tolerance for spicy, but my friend felt that it was quite spicy, so maybe it just depends on the person. It also helps to get extra wasabi, and season it with a spicy sauce, too, in order to help. The atmosphere is fantastic. It's very chill, bright, and inviting. I LOVE this place. It's one of the few places where I can get any kind of Korean food fix I want- fried chicken, bibimbap, kimbap, all available. My favorite here is a classic rice bowl (bibimbap style-ish with a fried egg of course). Bulgogi and spicy pork both good. They have a few preset bowls and the option to create your own- add a rice base, noodle base, salad base, whatever your heart desires. Then add a protein- I went with tofu. I did get slightly confused because when it said no meat, I thought they automatically gave you tofu in that price but in reality tofu is $2 extra. Lesson learned. After that, you can choose as many toppings as you want; great for vegetarians who want to plump up their bowls with as many veggies as possible. Sauces you can put on your bowl as you walk out and I really enjoyed the wasabi sauce and that they had yum yum sauce too! This place is awesome! We were so excited when we saw a Korean BBQ place was coming that I followed them on Facebook to get updates on when they were opening. We went in on their soft opening and we were impressed with the number mix ins and the delicious sauces. The bowls are amazing and I love getting the japchae, but it does take a little time to get your order because they cook the proteins to order. But it's nice and hot and hasn't been sitting in a warmer all day. We got around to getting the Korean fried chicken finally and we got the popcorn chicken. It is so crispy and my favorite sauce is the supreme sauce. I even ask for it as a side with any bowl I get. This is definitely Arlington's new gem! My boyfriend and I decided to give this a try because our apartment building sent out an email saying they opened and I sure am glad we did. The atmosphere is really nice with simple and modern decor. There is also plenty of seating, which is nice. The food itself is delicious. It's all very fresh and it's easy to accommodate many different diets. We both got the spicy chicken and salads with very different toppings and LOVED them! I'm really looking forward to coming here on nights we want a quick dinner and don't feel like cooking. They're also priced very well. Finally, the owners are wonderful.
