    Grapefruit Green Tea. 4 stars. Insta/Beli: @amei_eats
    Alex M.

(Overall: B) - Biao Sugar is a hole in the wall in the middle of Koreatown that was actually quite difficult to find. I did see some strawberry drink that I wanted to try from a reel, but was unable to find it on the menu until I was leaving. Nevertheless, they have some interesting options that are worth a visit. You can grab a drink out of the tiger's mouth which is a perculiar concept, but I suppose this looks better when someone else films than in reality. (Grapefruit Tea: B): The grapefruit green tea was pleasantly not too sweet and quite reasonably priced at only $6, given the inflation of boba prices recently. It is a simple drink, but it is not disappointing. -- Food: +1 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: E Service: E Menu: +1 Overall: +2 B Insta/Beli: @amei_eats

    Mexican Hot Chocolate

So sweet! When we went to drink the Mexican-style hot chocolate from Biao Sugar, I was returned to the rectangle-shaped glass table of my home. I think it helps that I'm Mexican because when tasting the chocolate drink, I tasted the richness of the chocolate and the sweetness of home. The boba is an innovative twist to the classic drink, and it makes the chocolate so much fun to enjoy.

We found a small but cute boba shop while walking around Koreatown. - The Summer Passion -- very refreshing right after a filling dinner! It was fun to pick up your drink from the tiger's mouth! The service was fast and the staff were efficient.

RIP to the LIC location that I used to frequent, but I can still get my ube pudding / brown sugar boba fix here.

I walk by this boba bar often. My friend suggested this place because of their limited summer special. I should've visited this place sooner! Small, no seating, dingy boba bar that has an aesthetic and tasty drinks. I understand the hype. I ordered the strawberry sunrise (limited summer item). After waiting under 3 minutes, the courteous barista stuck her hand with my order out of the lions mouth. I was surprised from this presentation. Thank you to the barista for letting me take the photo. I wanted to show the experience. The drink was very tasty and comes with a reused strawberry cup for 40% off future purchase if used. If you're in NY for the summer, this will be your boba fix. No restroom but there's public restroom across the street during day and evening. Also outside seating across.

    "Brown Sugar" Devil's Egg

I heard about their "egg" looking drink and wanted to give it a try, but it was not worth it. They only have one flavor, which is the brown sugar milk tea with boba. I replaced boba with egg pudding BUT I didn't realize the boba was brown sugar boba, which is what makes the drink. AND I also thought they would at least drizzle the drink as I saw in the menu (it has brown drizzling on the side with boba in the menu image), but I basically just got a $7.00 milk in an egg. I do wish the cashier would've told me that if I replace the boba, the drink would taste different because you rely on the boba for the brown sugar taste. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware and wasn't warned, so I got basically only milk with egg pudding. Recommendation(s): - None Service: 3/5 Tip(s): - Accept Apple Pay - No indoor seating - Don't replace boba with anything because it alters the taste

It's not bad! Considering the hype of this place, I had low expectations. It's not just aesthetics, the drink is pretty decent! I like the Brown Sugar Boba Milk with Milk Foam. I don't normally go for these drinks, but I was curious. The boba has a good texture to it! Not too chewy and not too firm - just right. The brown sugar milk wasn't overly sweet and had a nice creaminess to it. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but I wouldn't say it's entirely a gimmick. NOTE: the cashier and baristas here are kind of rude. If you don't grab your drink immediately, they'll get really frustrated holding their arm out in the tiger's mouth... Immature. Be sure to listen closely for your number.

The main attraction here is that you get your order from the dragon's mouth. Also, they have cute rubber duckies on top of the tea plastic bottles. It's very small store, you can only buy the tea as takeouts.

Wanted a little sweet treat after dinner, and this was the only place open that my friend and I both hadn't tried before. This was one of the worst drinks I've ever had. I got the Peach Oolong Tea with boba and threw it away after a few sips just because it wasn't doing anything for me. The tea lacked flavor, and the boba was stale and also flavorless. Service wasn't super nice at all the storefront was ridiculously small with no AC. They have a cool system for how they give you drinks once they're ready-- the server sticks the drink out of a tiger's mouth! Would not recommend to anyone.

This place is just a magical experience! All the drinks are totally unique and just in time for summer completely refreshing you can choose from one of the amazing boba teas or lemonades ! And then, when your order is ready, you receive it right from the mouth of a dragons head I mean, how cool is that? The drinks come out quick and although there is a line to get in, totally worth the wait!

    Watermelon tea and Devil's Egg

For the cute packaging, the prices weren't bad considering many other places have "regular packaging" and can cost $8-9 easily. I came around 5:45pm on a Saturday and only had to wait 15 minutes for the Devil's Egg drink to be re-populated. All the teas come in a clear plastic bottle with a plastic duck pretty securely taped onto the lid. There is not only a Devil's Egg but also an Angel's Egg which comes with a white eggshell instead of the dark one. There were only two people working that day, but the drinks came out quickly! When the drinks are ready, the person in the back passes it through this tiger's mouth which is pretty cool. I wasn't a huge fan of the watermelon tea, but I actually really liked the Devil's Egg bubble tea. Just a heads up the egg container did leak a bit in my bag, even though I made sure it was tightly screwed on. Would I go back? Eh, not sure, but the packaging is def an eyecatcher!

    Cindy N.

If you happen to be in the area, it's a fun spot to visit. The devil's egg is their popular feature with a limited quantity each day. Within the egg cup, the drink is a brown sugar milk drink with tapioca. Devil's Egg: The drink was decent, nothing outstanding but still pretty good. It wasn't too sweet and the tapioca were the right texture. There's no seating here so it's more of a takeout boba place. Overall, Biao Sugar is a decent spot to go for boba if you're already in the area but not worth going out of your way for.

    devil's egg
    Jennifer Y.

It's dirty and rundown inside. They have a pretty big selection of different types of teas/tapiocas. The thing that sets this place apart is the 'egg' cups that they sell for a little bit of a upcharge. You can get your drink in a little dragon egg type thing if you want for a little over $7. The egg itself has a screw top. It's not really that water tight so be careful when you're shaking it. It's also kind of difficult since you have to hold the top, put the straw in and drink, then put the top back later. But then what do you do with the straw? It's very inconvenient on the go. If you're wanting to keep the egg as a souvenir I'm not sure what you'd do with it while wandering around. Just seems like a hassle - but a cute hassle. Service isn't that friendly and they sort of unceremoniously just hand you the drinks through the dragon's mouth. Minimally cool. Overall though, I don't think it's that much more expensive than the regular tapioca drink you can find here in the city. The taste was fine - not too sugary.

I've never been to a yogurt store that makes you pay a set price first before selecting toppings, which also means toppings are limited based on the yogurt size (something I only realized later after looking at a picture I took in the store). The employee who was supposed to help me immediately gave me attitude, as if I was supposed to already know all the "rules" of the store. I said nothing that would have warranted that reaction -- I simply went over to the display. At the register, I scanned my rewards app then couldn't find the card reader to pay. After about 20 seconds, I realized it was sitting on top of a case of water bottles (pictured). The topping limit signage was also placed off to the side of the register where customers wouldn't naturally see it -- it wasn't even on my side and was partially blocked. I only found this out when I went up to the counter after I got my yogurt. While choosing toppings, I asked how many I was allowed, and she responded, "How many toppings do you think you're supposed to choose?" with a noticeably rude tone. When I chose cookie dough as my fourth topping, she only gave me a few pieces, dropped another on the counter (pictured), and ignored it. The cookie dough topping was stale too. I also noticed she did not seem to treat other customers the same way. I eventually went back to the register - I asked her if the yogurt was actually strawberry matcha because it tasted like vanilla. I also asked about her rudeness because I genuinely didn't understand why I was being treated that way for asking simple questions. She said the information was "on the wall," even though it was difficult to see. I actually ended up apologizing earlier because she made me feel like I was burdening her. The only personable thing she said the entire interaction was that I didn't need to apologize, but the tone still felt unfriendly. Two customers sitting nearby ended up leaving without ordering. I understand it was Super Bowl Sunday and she appeared to be working alone, which may have contributed to stress. Still, I left feeling extremely shaken and even spilled yogurt on my jacket afterward. I would not return to this location. I used to come to this location sometimes, but after this experience -- and a previous visit where I ordered a tea and received very little -- I would not return.

The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry!
