So, look - it's A-OK. It's a place worth shopping at periodically because they do have some good stuff you don't find elsewhere. Still, while the selection is good, it is not extensive. Don't make a special trip cross-town hoping to pick up exotic liqueurs here - or, sometimes, even the basics! The wine selection is pretty simplistic, too. The walk-in beer fridge and growlers are nice. Shopping here is relatively easy - you can park and get in and out quickly and efficiently, and the staff is lively and eager to help. However, this store doesn't control its own inventory, and I am surprised at how empty the shelves can be sometimes. read more

This. Is. Heaven. I'm from Indiana, and liquor stores that actually sell beer and mixers and other stuff are not novelty to me. But this place still inspires awe. Such an amazing selection of EVERYTHING. You can even buy nice glassware. Service is great, friendly and very helpful. And the BevMo club is an easy way to save money. I usually hate coming to this BevMo. I generally am made to feel incredibly uncomfortable as a woman. I've been patronized and talked to as if I know nothing about beer, when actually I am pretty knowledgeable. So tonight when my boyfriend and I were thinking about getting some beers for home, we stopped by and picked up a six-pack of beer and when we checked out Reed was incredibly nice, basically hi-fived us on our beer choice and made me feel comfortable about being there! So this 4 star rating is only for Reed's customer service. I still won't go to BevMo, unless if it's a last resort, but Reed at least made this trip completely tolerable! read more

Was ordering kegs for the office through BevMo because they're one of the only places that will take AmEx. Several of the staff and the manager were very pleasant, and they were always willing to let me stop by before actual opening hours so I didn't have to make extra trips. However. They know nothing about beer and they know nothing about kegs. If I asked a general question like "what kind of exciting seasonal micros can we get, medium-dark-ish, maybe a porter?" I was inevitably offered Mac and Jack or Manny's. No matter what I asked about, those were the only beers they seemed to have for reference. I only interacted with BevMo three times, and I had problems with BevMo exactly three times. Once they ordered my requested keg but it somehow mysteriously didn't make it on the truck... and they didn't call to tell me. Then, when I did finally get a good keg from them, I got it to the office and... well, I'm new to this kegerator thing, I didn't realize there were different tap couplers. Turns out, neither did anyone at BevMo--they were stymied, and when someone finally got on the phone to confirm, yes, there are different couplers, the guy on the phone made a big fuss about how this was my problem to solve, not theirs, and they'd take the keg back if I wanted but only as a big favor to me, and normally they were supposed to charge for this keg I couldn't tap. When I asked if they had another coupler or knew where I could get one the guy just kept repeating that they'd take it back, but only if I promised to feel really shitty about it and pretend like they were doing me a huge favor. So I went to Bottleworks, and the guy there rented me an s-coupler for five bucks, gave me instructions on how to change it and told me if I got stuck or confused I could call him and he'd talk me through it. So, yeah, I'm definitely taking my business there from now on. Screw big box stores. BevMo isn't even that much cheaper than Ballard Market or QFC. read more

I like this place alright, especially when I'm craving a beer that I can't otherwise find at one of my local supermarkets. Bevs gets docked at least a star, though, for failure to sync their registers with their sale prices. On a recent visit, THREE of the five items in my cart showed higher prices at the register than on the shelf, and I had to wait for a few minutes as clerks scurried through the aisles to confirm the discounted prices I was reporting. read more

They had what I needed, for $2 more than the grocery store. If you're going to insist that I pull my ID out of the convenient clear thing in my wallet so you can scan it for the purchase of a Bottle of Torani blackberry syrup, like its a policy that you have to check everyone's ID, you should actually check everyone's ID. I would like to echo the other reviewers who noted that the staff at this particular BevMo are not very knowledgeable or helpful. Also, the selection isn't really all that great - several outstanding UK beers missing from the shelves, Irish whisky selection average, French wine selection average. The Fred Meyers across the parking lot has better prices for most stuff. read more

The staff at the Ballard BevMo has been generally friendly, but as other reviewers have mentioned, do NOT give them your driver's license. The clerk asked to "see my ID," then turned around and placed it in some scanner before I realized what was going on. I am still reflecting on ever returning to this store, and definitely am done with their buyers club. I view this as a serious ethical problem with this store. read more

Walked in a newb, walked out $$ spent later but completely satisified. We had great customer service from the moment we walked in the door and out the checkout stand. Great selections for everything you need for a party: beers, spirits, wine, cheese, snacks, glassware, cocktail fixings, etc. The one suggestion I'd make is why such a limited seleciton on their growler's? I mean, you can get Mannys and Mac & Jacks anywhere, so why of the 10 beers available in growers were those two in the selection? And they had other mass-produced beers in that list and no microbrews. I thought we were in Seattle and people had better taste palates to drink the other great local brews.... I give them 3.5stars because their growler selection was weak, and really thought this was a "one-stop shop" but guess I got to hit up my local bars to fill my growlers with better stuff. read more

We came in here for the first time the other week and we felt like two kids in a candy store - sensory overload! We enjoyed walking up and down the aisles, looking at all that this store had to offer...until we looked closer at the prices. My favorite Belgium beer (St. Bernardus Abt 12) was sold for $25+ when I know that I could pick that up for about $12 at Ballard Market. And then we picked up some hard liquor...only to realize later that it would've been a few bucks cheaper at Costco. Ultimately, we may be back if we needed a one-stop shop but otherwise, there are cheaper places to pick up booze. read more

This place is quite impressive. A great selection of alcohol including beer and wine. Lots of gift packs and specialty items too. I needed a few gifts when I was in town and found them quickly. Getting the BevMo saver card helped at the checkout. read more

Thomas at the Ballard Bevmo helped us select the alcohol for our wedding. He even did a wine tasting with us to choose the best wines for our event. He is quite knowledgable about wine and we enjoyed his observations and suggestions. The prices were excellent and they included delivery to the venue. We had some booze left over and they gladly let us return what we didn't use. A great customer service experience. read more

Back in today after getting a gift certificate. I had to get quarters for laundry, and decided to walk through the beer section at Fred Meyer immediately beforehand. BevMo's selection is smaller and priced higher. Elysian's Superfuzz was 4.79 at Fred Meyer (for a 22oz), and 4.99 at BevMo. 6 packs were 8.99 at Freddies, 9.99 at Bevmo. People inside were nice, but not incredibly helpful/knowledgeable still. Was hoping to find something unique that I couldn't find at Fred Meyer so I could justify spending a bit more for it, but was unable to find anything special. And again, the girl who checked me out automatically tried to sign me up for their rewards program and get all my info. STOP TRYING TO COLLECT MY PERSONAL INFORMATION WITHOUT MY CONSENT. read more

Rented hand pump keg taps and keg tub from Bevmo. Never used them as the host of the party rented a jockybox. (awesome!) Obviously unused and clean when I returned them. Manager "unable" to waive "cleaning fee" as its "impossible to tell if they were used or not". Well, are they sticky and smell of beer? No... Thanks for nothing Bevmo, you can suck it! read more

It's a good liquor store -- there aren't really any great ones in Seattle, so this is comparatively quite good. The staff is knowledgeable and the tastings are fun and informative. When they are running 2-for-1 wine deals (which is often) they include those wines in the tastings, so you can try before you buy. They have a nice selection of beer on tap you can get in growlers to go, about 10 taps. Liquor selection is definitely bigger than Fred Meyer (which is next door) and they have some of the local specialties (they are usually in the locked cases). In my experience the low-end liquor is slightly cheaper (a dollar or two) at FM but the good stuff is cheaper here. You need a (free) loyalty card to get the best discounts, & once you sign up they'll periodically send you coupons for something like $15 off $100, a nice perk you don't get at FM. I usually stop in here to get a growler and pick up a bottle or two of specialty liquor I can't get at the grocery store. read more
