Walked in at 5:23am to a bright clean diner atmosphere. Some regulars were already seated and drinking coffee, very peaceful and chill vibes. Amanda is the only person working and she does it all: takes orders, cooks orders, makes various drinks, works the drive thru, washes dishes, runs the register...this gal HUSTLES. Coffee is pretty standard diner type coffee, but still strong and not watery or bitter. I got 2 scrambled eggs with cheese, a banana, and a potato pancake. IT. HIT. THE. SPOT. When I say this was the best breakfast I've had in months, I am not exaggerating. Fresh, hot, comforting, delicious. Everything was perfect, I can't find a criticism if I tried! I will start off by saying the food was pretty good. Certainly nothing life changing but worked well enough for us. My problem comes from what we ended up paying for it. I will not give out specific totals, but we looked at the menu prices when deciding what to order and were figuring on that being our total (plus tax perhaps) when we got the bill. Instead, a girl comes by right as we are finishing up and verbally tells us our total, which is about $7 more than what we were expecting based on the menu prices. She also never provided a physical copy of our bill or any type of receipt, digital or physical. I don't know that I've ever heard of a restaurant not providing a copy of the bill, seems extremely sketchy to me. Person I was with decides to ask her about this discrepancy. She explains that apparently all their prices recently increased 25% and that is where the extra $7+ charge came from. This is objectively unfair and ridiculous. if your prices have increased that is more than understandable given our current economic circumstances, but those increased prices should be reflected on the menu, not later on in a surprise upcharge on our bill that we never even got to have a physical or digital copy of at any point. It's a shame because otherwise the food was totally fine and we may have even come back at some point. Again not the best I ever had but it was certainly passable. However, upcharging your customers 25% at the end of the meal instead of just reflecting your increased prices on the menu, and then refusing to provide a copy of the bill to the customer upon request is simply not acceptable under any circumstances. I advise others who want to eat here to inquire about their actual prices as the prices displayed on the menu are not the real prices! read more

I've given Betty's Donuts so many chances. Today was the last straw. I ordered a breakfast bowl with white toast, and a hash brown patty on the side. The hash brown patty is a literal hockey puck - inedible. It's so hard that it hurt to attempt to bite into, see pic below. The toast that came with the breakfast bowl is literally raw toast. Completely untoasted but still slathered with butter, so disgusting. It's such a disappointment that they're getting the smallest parts of the meal so wrong. My eggs were wrong, the gravy was cold, terribly slow service, had to order our drinks twice and got overcharged. Food was hot and tasty, although I only found one piece of tomato in my veggie omelette. Home fries portion was def a little on the light side compared to the other plates in my party. The one star rating is for the service, this is the second time that we've been here and experienced the same issues. Love this place, but it's time to employ an adult to supervise the front house! There's no organization as to whom looks after which customers! We sat there and had to ask to place our drink order, our food order, our refill order and our bill! We HAD to ask for everything and our response- a glazed look from a teen that the expression screamed "I don't know". Three times I asked various waitresses where our food was?. We sat and watched parties come in, being waited on immediately and their food coming out before we even knew where ours was. So very disappointed that we brought our out of town friend here for breakfast- not a good example of a local family diner! If the business owner happens to read this, I will be more than happy to discuss this experience and our previous experience in depth! I'm all about being fair, and supporting local businesses, but this is an experience that is starting to repeat itself- I won't be back! read more

Betty's is your classic old-school small diner with ripped up booth seats and a counter with a grouchy waitress behind it and there are a bunch of old people drinking their mediocre coffee. You know the place. I got Betty's Boston Cream donut and man was it good. The minute I held it in my hand, I knew it was going to be a good donut. As I touched the dough, I could feel the lightness of the yeast, yet the donut was dense stuffed with cream. I took a bite and it was one of the best Boston Creams I've ever had. The dough that hugged the cream was fresh and had a buoyancy to it. After my first bite, the cream oozed out of it and I fell in love with this donut. I could be a palm reader. The Lemon Squares are to die for, they are big and they are so tasty... well worth breaking your diet for a snack. This is my favorite breakfast place and I have been going there for years. They do have donuts again. It was a temporary thing when they didn't. The prices are the best around. You can't get breakfast for this good of a price anywhere. They have all the normal breakfast food. Breakfast Bowl's are awesome. Bacon, ham, sausage, home fries, eggs, and cheese all in one bowl. So good. I love the coffee. Hot or cold is great. They have a wide variety iced flavors to choose from all the time. While they don't make their own donuts, they do make all the pastries themselves. You are greeted with the display case right when you walk in. Muffins, danishes, cookies. Yummy. They also do great lunch and dinner specials. Everything is homemade. Their soups are the best and are made fresh weekly Mon-Fri. They always have different lunch and dinner specials throughout the week. Shepard's Pie, American Chop Suey, Dynamites, etc. Just great food. On top of all this great food, I enjoy all the people most of all. Betty's has always been family owned and run. I've only been here twice: once to get coffee and another time at an obscene hour (like 5am) for an early breakfast date. The food is good - typical diner style food for breakfast. And it's so cheap! This used to be my boyfriend's favorite place growing up and he still likes it now. The coffee is pretty good too. Not a ton of seating, and often crowded but if you get there at a crazy hour like me, you'll have no problem finding a seat. I THINK that they're cash only. read more

I stop in for lunch average once a week. Soup and a sandwich for $6 can't beat it. Soups are homemade so they have good flavor. Available to go as well if I'm in a rush. Free desert with your lunch if you have a sweet tooth. Better than fast food for a quick lunch. read more
