We tend to stick to tacos here given it is a taqueria after all. I think the street tacos are arguably their best and most economical offering. The chicken and steak are good, the birria and carnitas are ok and the el pastor has yet to be anything close to authentic. Might try the pulled pork ones soon as they sound good but that's not really the meat I crave in a taco. The frontera tacos are 3 times the price for a whiff of guac and pico along with some flavorless, neon orange rice and not worth the upgrade from street IMO. Overall, not a bad place to grab a few tacos but probably not worth going out of your way to try.

I asked for some accommodations including no cheese, sour cream or guacamole. I'm glad they agreed to my preference and gave me what I wanted. Firstly, to order, you order and pay at the counter. Don't be us and order from our table, and pay when we were done. My father had that habit that made me a bit awkward since he apparently comes regularly. It's near his work place. It was nice to know he felt comfortable enough to do this. Staff speak Spanish too~ so this was more of a reason he was so comfortable. I noticed staff were a bit passive in taking orders. Place was empty, but service was a bit poor and we had to look for our server. Again, I don't think this place has servers necessarily and you just order and pick up at counter. I had such a good food experience! Service experience was ok.

I've been dying to try this restaurant after seeing reviews and finding out it's chef owned (yes!)…read more We had reservations on a recent Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The restaurant is small (only seats 48) so reservations are recommended. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable, there wasn't very many people while we were there so I'm not sure how loud it gets when busy. They have a full bar so I ordered a drink and my husband loves his craft beers and they had a few (but he always prefers if they have a beer menu so he can read the beer description). For appetizers we ordered shrimp cocktail and the meatball. The shrimp and sauce were delicious, and the meatball was HUGE (we almost could have a meal with that!!! The meatball came with lots of sauce and ricotta with 2 toasted bread slices (we devoured every bit!). For dinner we shared 2 entrees, we got the seafood casserole which came with choice of side (we picked baked potato) and a vegetable medley, and the southern fried pork chops that came with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. The food was so delicious we ate what we could and had to bring food home. Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable of the menu. This was one of the best places we've tried in a while. We eat out at least weekly and most places we don't go back for a second visit, but Lucky Dog Tavern will definitely stay on our rotation of places we love.

Recently I became somewhat of a regular because the food and the service here is impeccable. Tonight, critically acclaimed server turned bartender Lilly, suggested that I try to Sausage and Bean Soup. Not only does she rank amongst the top three servers I have ever had in my entire life but she was 100% right about the Sausage and Bean soup. Get your car drive to Lucky Dog Tavern and all the time you're on your way there cross your fingers that the Sausage and Bean Soup is on the menu. It was beyond excellent. Just a giant mouthful of flavors expertly orchestrated. Otherwise, It's a gigantic gigantic menu but if the Sausage & Bean Soup is on the special absolutely have it. Take one home with you too. Before I forget to tell you everything on the menu is pretty excellent. But, Just for the record, I skipped over the lasagna. Have I ever lied to you!?

We loved our cozy corner table. Service was great and our drinks arrived quickly after we ordered. For food, we started with the pepperoni flatbread and the pretzels with queso & mustard. They were both very good and I especially liked the queso. Our entrees were steak tips, buffalo chicken risotto, penne with vodka sauce & grilled chicken, and steak tips with mashed potatoes and vegetables. They were all served nice and hot, the portions were a great size, and they were all delicious. We opted for dessert and got the carrot cake and a chocolate martini. Yum and Yum!!!! During our dinner, the manager visited each table to ask how things were going, which was a really nice touch. We're really glad we chose Ciro's. Everything was great and we hope to return soon!

Service was very good -- Jenny was an excellent server: attentive, friendly. The food overall was good. The fish & chips were a bit overcooked, but the rest of the meals at our table were very enjoyable. We were seated upstairs, which I highly recommend. The stained glass windows are beautiful and the space is much quieter than the main floor, making for a relaxed dining atmosphere. Great location if you're heading to the Stadium Theatre -- convenient and a nice way to start the evening.
